Individual Rotating Cradles

Sportrack Pathway 3-bike Hanging-Style Rack Anti-Sway Cradles

The SportRack Pathway has cradles that secure your bikes by the top tube, down tube, or seat tube. Each cradle rotates to ensure your bikes hang level on the rack, reducing the risk of ground clearance issues.

Sportrack Pathway 3-bike Hanging-Style Rack Anti-Sway Cradles

Soft rubber padding inside each cradle protects your bikes from scratches and scuffs. The padding has grooves on the surface that prevent your brake and shifter cables from getting pinched.

Easy Tilting for Cargo Area Access

Sportrack Pathway 3-bike Hanging-Style Rack Tilting

The rack tilts down without your bikes loaded. This means you won't have to remove the whole rack to access your cargo area for grocery runs and other errands.

Sportrack Pathway 3-bike Hanging-Style Rack Lower HitchSwitch Lever

To tilt the rack down, pull out the pin at the base of the rack and lower it. When you're ready to go, lift the mast up and re-insert the pin to secure it in place.

Threaded Hitch Pin and Hitch Adapter

Sportrack Pathway threaded hitch pin

A threaded hitch pin is included to help eliminate rattle in the hitch receiver during transport. To tighten the pin in your hitch, use a 1/2" wrench (not included). A clip is also included to keep the pin in place. The rack also works with both 1-1/4" and 2" hitches. To use it in a 1-1/4" hitch, simply remove the adapter with the included Allen key.

Bike Security

Sportrack Pathway 3-bike Hanging-Style Rack Tilting

A lock on the hand knob secures your bikes to the rack. Once locked, the hand knob will spin freely so a would-be thief can't operate it. A hitch lock (sold separately) is available to help deter theft of the rack.

Available Adapter Bar

SportRack adapter bar

If you have a women's bike, kid's bike, or any other bike without a straight, horizontal top tube, you will need an adapter bar (sold separately) to properly mount your bike. The bar fits between the seat post and handlebar stem post of your bike to create a top tube so your bike hangs level on the rack.

I think this is a simple and efficient rack, but it is not for everyone.
Because it is a frame clamp design, you should not mount Carbon Fiber frames or thin walled aluminum frames for risk of frame damage. Thich aluminum and steel frames should not have a problem.
My heavy fat bike fits just fine if it's the only bike on the rack.
2 regular mountain bikes will fit in opposite directions.
This rack will never realistically hold 3 mountain bikes. (maybe 3 road bikes)
I removed one of the clamps, easy to do, makes a cleaner setup.
Bikes with small triangles (smaller frames and certain full suspension) will be difficult to mount due to the locking/clamping mechanism size trying to fit through the frame and made worse with bottle holders.
I changed out the bolts at the hitch side to make it a rigid rack. There is no need for me to pivot this rack and now has one less thing to go wrong.
The threaded locking bolt makes this hitch rock solid with no clunking noises while transporting.
The BIG advantage of this rack is storage.
It fits behind my seat and is invisible to the passing eye and can be installed or removed in a few seconds.

After a year of owning this bike rack, I must report that I have no problems with it to date. All works as advertised. I have a Hyundai Ioniq and it was difficult to mount any rack, and I had to go with the 1 1/4"hitch. It's been great so far, steady and not shaking on the highway. Mostly use 2 bikes, although a couple times I have used 3.

I just finished installing this hitch on to my 2022 Forester, and I couldn't be more pleased with it. The installation was just like the video that is posted to your site, and the wire feeding tools made it a breeze!

I did not have to modify the plastic underbody panel on my 2022. It fit back under the car, and I added a self tapping screw to hold it in place. Thanks for making it so easy!

Our bike rack works well with our two bikes, and we have room for another when needed. It is very sturdy and tightly holds our bikes in place. The lock provides some security while we are on the road.

Sturdy product. I installed it soon after it arrived yesterday, and the only (no longer "only" -more below) problem I see with it is a pivotal one (dad joke coming). The removable pin and pivot bolt, used to lower the arm so the rear door hatch can raise and lower for groceries/etc, is rather difficult to insert and remove. My girlfriend simply can't do it. I am very strong, and I barely can get it in with a lot of effort and push/pull, lift/twist of the arm. The bolt is a bit big and/or the holes in the heavy duty rubber/plastic doesn't align with the holes in the hitch shaft well enough for a smooth fit. I will assume that, with enough use, the bolt will machine itself and the holes down enough that insertion/removal is no longer a problem.
The hitch bolt is one that needs a great deal of tightening to reach stability, and unfortunately means quick removal of the assembly isn't a factor, so one would have to weigh the difficulty and time of removal against the disadvantage of having it stay (say you need to parallel park in the city- the assembly renders that nearly impossible in most scenarios).
I like the look of the arm. There is a deep scratch along the length of the logo, but it doesn't really bother me. It's going to get a little beat up, but apparently they were a little rough on it in S&H. Removing 1 star for this.

Wow: So I just spent the past 90 minutes trying to get our 3 bikes on this 3 bike rack. I've deemed it impossible. What a total let down. I might be able to get it to work with a bike frame adapter, but really- should it be this difficult? Absolutely not. I maximized spacing between the clamps, have rotated them, put the bikes on in every imaginable order and angle to no avail.
What's more, is the threaded bolts wreak havok on the bikes. I've owned several racks in the past, and I never had to worry about a paint job until now. It scratched each of our bikes on top, sides, and bottoms of the supporting bar. Yes, I was being very careful in attempting to mount these. Removing 2 stars for this.

Really like how easy this hitch mounted bike rack is to use. Plug it in the hitch, add the bikes and go.

Love it. Works will, no issues at all.

by:

Everything about this purchase was good. The product came quickly even though the day I ordered it, it was temporarily out of stock. Erika assured me that the item would be shipped promptly when it became available and the time line was even quicker then expected. The bike carrier was easy to assemble and I know I will like this item as I've owned a similar SportRack carrier in the past and have familiarity with the adjustments for different top tubes. I also purchased a separate locking hitch pin to secure the unit to the receiver hitch in the event someone might want to walk off with the carrier. The bikes are also secured with the rear locking knob. All in all, I'm very satisfied with this product and the company (etrailer.com).

by:

Given the price, the product is fine, however, there is one major issue: the 1-1/4" bar does not fit a 1-1/4" hitch and has to be machined 1/32 of an inch at a nearby gas station. I went to our local Eastern Mountain dealer (who sell the same product for about 25% more than etrailer) and they said that every customer who buys this bike rack comes back with the same complaint so it is a design and/or manufacturing issue.

etrailer's service was outstanding--ordered the rack and it arrived 3 days later.

by:

Fast delivery and quality product. I would have given full excellent rating but I wish that the pin hole would take my key-lock pin, too small to fit through. Alternatively a more secure keyed pin would be nice. I could see someone pulling the entire rack from my hitch and tossing it, bikes and all, into a pickup bed.

by:

This is by far the best bike rack that I have, compared to the Reese model that did not fit the hitch on my CH-R. It fits my car perfectly and the color matches my car color too. The most important part is that I can fully open my truck without tilting the rack. It took me over three months to get a "perfect fit" and I couldn't be happier. And as always, customer service was excellent.

by:

I like the product alot and I had no problem with etrailer. They got my order out and to me in record time. But the locking mechanism doesn't lock like it should and I'm jumping thru hoops to get a new one sent out from Thule.

by:

Great bike mount! Sturdy enough for our electric bike and other bikes! Sturdy build. Easy to put into the hitch and mount the bikes.

by:

I am so happy I made this purchase!! I am a current college student, and having such a reliable bike rack has made a tremendous difference! It's super easy to use! (which was a selling point for me because I'm not exactly the strongest, or most handy person when it comes to these types of things) Anyways, It's super easy to use, super tough, and it's done it's job well! There was very minimal bounce during travels, and absolutely no worries! I also loved that there was a built in lock for your bike. Very useful!

by:

Nice, solid bike rack with good clearance on my 2011 Elantra. As with all bike racks I have encountered only two bikes fit on the three bike rack. I only need it for two bikes so I am pleased with the rack.

by:

The bike rack was extremely well made. It is a perfect fit for my Forester and when the rack is mounted there is no sway. The bikes fit in the clamps easily. I prefer this type of mount to the ones where the bikes merely hang there held by velcro straps.

by:

Lighter then my other one. Easy to put together. Can't wait to use it. Also like that it tilts and I can use it on a 2" receiver if necessary.

by:

Excellent product, very happy with it. Easy to attach to hitch, also easy to load 3 bikes safely.

by:

Easy bike hitch to install, well made.

by:

Excellent customer Services, nice product with great price and quick delivery. This is the first time I purchased from etrailer.com and I will not hesitate to purchase from them again. Thank you.

by:

I returned this item and company was great to work with regarding the return

by:

Put a nick in my carbon frame bike. Solid for bike you don’t have to worry about nicks. Don’t buy it if your bike is carbon!

by:

Haven’t used it yet so can’t give it an excellent rating. Seems well made and I expect it to work out well.

by:

I Loved it enough I talked my mom into buying the same model. Service and shipping was amazing as well.

by:

I have had my bike on it just once. Some wobble over bumps but on the main road it seems to have little movement. Great so far!

by:

Very well built. Solid. No real complaints and has worked well for over a year

by:

Great product. Exactly what I needed. Built very well and easy to put together. Solid!
