Most step-through bikes, dual-suspension bikes, and small children's bikes will require a bike adapter bar.

Approved for use on cars, trucks, vans, and SUVs - not approved for fifth wheels, motorhomes, or towable campers

This stylish rack from Kuat carries up to two bikes and fits 1-1/4" trailer hitch receivers. Constructed with rigid 6061 heat-treated aluminum tubing, it is one of the lightest bike racks in its class, weighing less than 13 pounds. Innovative anti-sway cradles fit up to 3" diameter frames. Its convenient hand tightening cam system eliminates the need for tools by tightening the bike rack inside the hitch receiver using a large turning knob. The folding design of this bike rack allows for both easy storage and full access to your rear cargo area.

Durable dual-strap cradles provide extra support for bike frames (shown on the Pearl model)

Each cradle has two straps that secure your bike by the top tube and the down tube or seat tube. The cradles fit up to 3" frames.

Large turning knob shown on the front of the hitch barAnti-wobble piece shown extending from the hitch bar

The Beta uses only a convenient hand knob to tighten the rack inside the hitch, unlike other racks that require a bolt and wrench.

Compact folding design allows for convenient storage

The rack tilts forward, away from your vehicle, when you remove the pin at the base, allowing easy access to your vehicle's cargo area. The arms fold down and the hitch bar rotates 270 degrees, parallel to the upright bar. This folding design makes the rack very easy to store.

Love this rack!! I have owned 3 other hitch bike racks before (thule, yakima and saris) this one is the best by far. Easy to install and light weight. 882103

I got this rack instead of a similar (but more expensive) Thule lightweight rack, because the Thule was on back order and I wanted the rack for an upcoming trip. This one proved to be a very good value, but to be honest, I still think the Thule would have met my needs a little better. This rack delivered pretty much as promised, especially in the light weight. It was very easy to handle due to its light, aluminum construction, while not feeling at all flimsy. Everything is very solidly built, and fairly easy to use. Installation was simple, although folding and unfolding with the pins requiring removal and re-insertion is a bit more fiddly than the simple lever releases some other racks (such as the Thule) use. But it got easier with a bit of practice. The rack attaches to the receiver very solidly with the anti-rattle device simple to manually tighten once the hitch pin is in place. The bikes were very easy to load and secure, but I did find the “anti-sway” straps to be kind of ineffective. I solved this problem with three velcro straps - two to secure the inner bike’s frame to the rack, and one to secure the frames of the bikes to each other. A roll of half inch (or so?) velcro is incredibly useful for carrying bikes on a rack - I also use it to secure the handlebars to prevent any sway there when the bikes are on the car as well. Overall, a very solid rack, and a good value, if not quite as slick and easy to use (with designed into the rack locks as well) as the more expensive Thule aluminum rack. Four stars for the rack, but definitely five stars for all the people I dealt with at etrailer - definitely first class customer service at every point in the process. 865245

The Kuat Beta is a great hitch mounted bike carrier. It's light, it's simple to use and reasonably priced. We use it for short local bike trips where no more than two bikes need to be carried. 864131

Shipped quickly. Half the price of the Big Name brand of bike rack and does essentially the same thing. Plus it was in stock, and Big Name was back ordered. After six weeks I got tired of waiting and found this. The only thing this one doesn’t have that the Big Name does is an integrated lock for the bikes, but I can fix that pretty easily. Win win. 858482

Very good product. It is sturdy after tightening the screws, holds bikes well. Lightweight. The only inconvenience is the hitch hole, which is eccentric with a car hitch hole. I bought a pin that fit into each hole but because of eccentric position the pin doesn't go through both holes when the rack is attached. Probably need to buy a 1/4" pin or something else to secure the rack from stealing. 851846

Very easy install. Based on other reviews, I purchased the Kuat hitch lock so had no problem getting the pin through my trailer hitch. Unfortunately, I hadn’t bought the adapter bar for women’s bikes so could not use it to carry home the bike we just bought for my wife. The hanging posts are too thick to fit through her bike frame so couldn’t get it on. 850892

Really happy. Shipment was originally delayed because the adapter bar was back ordered but I emailed and the folks at etrailer got it on its way. Arrived an hour ago and I’ve already put it on to check fit. Very glad I bought the Kuat. Light enough for me to get it on without help. The bikes seem to swing forward and back a bit so I’ll look into how I can fix that. But I’m excited to get the bikes out of town. 820874

I got this bike carrier, a 1.25" Curt trailer hitch, hitch lock and also a lock to secure the bikes to the carrier. All this for about $3[XX]. So far I'm very happy. by:

Overall, I've been quite happy with this product. Some strengths: 1. It folds up to a relatively compact size, so it can be stored in the trunk without taking up too much room. The arms fold parallel to the main support. 2. It relatively light, so easy to carry. 3. While this rack takes slightly longer than other models to get set up, once set up the pin system is very secure. A minor complaint would be that the anti-sway straps could work better--they are hard to get tight enough. Inside bike occasionally taps rack when braking. 744932

This hitch totally fit my needs. It is super light weight and fold up to store very easy in the back of my CR-V or on the shelf in my garage. It holds the bike securely and the price was absolutely right on. I use it on my Honda CR-V. 715636

Fits great and easily stows away. The bikes fit nicely and the rack is stable. 714243

- B202-114
by:

A relatively light weight rack at 15 lbs but feels a bit heavier in hand, seems well built with one major flaw. The hitch pin hole is completely off center and does not line up with the hitch hole. This makes you only able to use their proprietary super skinny hitch pin. The rack does not include a locking pin- only a cotter pin secured hitch pin. You can purchase a kuat lock for way too much money but they are out of stock online on most retail sites. 695800

I was looking for a light weight bike rack for my 2015 Honda Accord. Your videos stated that the Kuat Beta was light and easy to install. You were right. I opened the box, read the instructions, and had it installed in about 10 minutes. I don't use a rack lock. It is so easy to pop on and off the hitch that I keep the rack in my car trunk. 667075

Fantastic bike rack. Love the ratcheting straps. Solid and lightweight enough for me to detach from the hitch. Only thing is I wish there was a built in lock to deter thrives from taking the rack. Other than that, easy install into the hitch. Definitely need a u-bar for mine. 655627
