Fit of SportRack Pathway Bike Rack on 2012 Mazda CX7

Updated 07/03/2013 | Published 07/02/2013

Question:

Will this work well with a Mazda CX7 - be back enough from bumper, rear hatch? Opening rear hatch work well when the rack is lowered? Planning on using with a Hidden Hitch 1 1/4 hitch. Thanks

When we installed the Hidden Hitch 1-1/4 on a 2010 CX-7, we found that the hitch is fairly deeply recessed under the rear of the vehicle. I would recommend the Draw-Tite Class III Hitch # 75512. This will have the 2 inch receiver that will allow for more bike rack and cargo rack options.

Once the bikes are removed, the SportRack Pathway, part # SR2703 that you asked about, can be tilted back as far as you need to access the cargo area.

To carry womens bikes or bikes with sharply angled top tubes or step-through frames, using a frame adapter like part # 64005 is recommended. The adapter spans the distance between the seat post and the handle bar gooseneck, and provides a level attachment point to the bike rack so the bike has greater ground clearance and is not carried at an angle.

I have linked you to some product demonstration videos that you might find helpful.
