The Kuat Beta is built for quick get-ups and go rides. Weighing in at under 14 lbs, it’s light enough to lift and install solo—no tools needed. Just slide the shank into your 2" hitch and turn the hand-tightening knob to deploy the anti-rattle wedge. It locks the rack snugly in place for a quiet, steady drive. When it’s time to remove it, the rack’s low weight makes it just as easy to take off and store.
No one likes hearing bikes clatter behind them. The Beta’s anti-sway cradles use dual top-tube straps and a seat-post strap to hold each bike solidly in place. The soft rubber rotates to fit different frame shapes while keeping paint scratch-free. It’s a simple setup that keeps bikes steady and spaced apart—no rubbing, no rocking, just smooth miles.
Space is always at a premium, whether in the garage or at the trailhead. The Beta’s removable bail pins let you fold the arms down or tilt the mast back for quick cargo access when the bikes are off. The shank folds up too, taking up less room when stored. You can park, load, or stash the rack without it getting in the way.
Two large hand knobs on the mast and arms tighten down to lock out movement when you’re rolling. Loosen them to fold or tilt, tighten them when you’re ready to drive—it’s an intuitive design that cuts vibration and keeps the rack solid mile after mile.
With a 2-bike capacity rated at 40 lbs per bike, the Beta handles most standard bikes with ease. If your bike doesn’t have a straight top tube—like many women’s, kid’s, or step-through frames—an adapter bar (sold separately) creates a level mounting point. It’s a simple add-on that makes the Beta work with a wider range of bikes.

Im glad youre happy with your bike rack! Please be aware that using an adapter will decrease the tongue weight capacity of your receiver hitch by 50 percent.

Still great. Had to replace one of the ratchet straps but that was not a problem.
My purchase of a Kuat Beta bike rack has gone smoothly in every way - from the online purchase and an unexpected sale price; to delivery two or three days earlier than I expected; to the mere five minutes or so it took me to put it on the back of my suv. No longer will I be pulling the wheels from my bike to fit it in the cargo area, while worrying about greasing-up myself and the carpet.

Rubber supports in contact with bike frame slipped during a cross country trip resulting in chafing of the car’s finish. I wasn’t too happy about that.
The Kuat Beta Bike Rack is great. It's lightweight, easy to install, and folds for storage. The rack didn't work for us with the 2 bikes facing opposite directions. Bike parts clashed, and the outer bike wouldn't get seated in the carriages. But when we turned the outer bike in the same direction as the inner bike, it worked fine. We just attached the outer vertical carriage to the diagonal bar on the bike frame rather than to the seat post.

I'm happy to hear that thee rack is working out so well for you, Jeanne! You're also so right when it comes to the weight of this rack, it so light compared to most racks out there. How often do you get the bikes out for a ride?
I bought a used product. It was packaged well and looked like new. The install was easy, and it works as advertised.
Solid rack. Straps do a nice job keeping both bikes in place. I use additional bungee cords to leave no doubt. This is a great bike rack and I do recommend it even without the use of additional straps. Fits great into the hitch and the tightener works amazing.

Year later and still no issues
Great bike rake. Light, easy to handle, folded up nicely when not in use and the anti-rattle features work like a charm. Can't go wrong with this one. Just a caution, they recommend the use of the Kuat H101 Bike Rack Hitch Lock for 2" Racks. That lock has a 1/2 pin and the B202-2 accepts a 5/8 pin. It will work, but it will rattle.

Still happy with the purchase.
I did the internet search, craigs list, then hit up the reviews on etrailer for this bike rack, sounded good. The price point was very fair, reviews strong, etrailer backing so I placed an order. The order was delivered quickly, well packed, and the rack was perfect as expected. The rack was easy enough to figure out, I placed it in my etrailer hitch, nice tight fit, very little wobble, and the screws took care of the little wobble. My bike sat in the rubber saddles nicely, well secured. I'm pretty pleased with the rack and recommend it highly. The only issue I had was getting it out of the hitch, its tight, but I managed to get it out, tight is a good thing.

This is STILL an excellent bike rack. Solidly built, no wobble. I have the 2 bike model and would purchase it again.
Very impressed with the purchase process & high level of customer service at etrailer.com. Lots of follow up from beginning purchase, shipping status & after the sale concern that I received my order & was happy....And Yes I am. Boxes were little crushed and taped up but prob due to heavy nature of items shipping from MO to NH. I purchased Draw-Tite hitch w/Kuat Beta bike rack. Just received this yesterday and I couldn't be happier!! After extensive research I selected this Kuat Beta to replace a Yakima RidgeBack 2. When mounted to a dual receiver accessory hitch the Yakima was too bulky, interfering with the tongue jack crank on our T@B camp trailer. This Kuat fits like a glove for my application, and is about 60% lighter in weight! My initial concern regarding the narrow arm spacing is actually a plus. When I mounted our Diamond Backs with rectangular cross tubes, they are actually positioned more level and quite stable. The wide tube saddles and updated synch straps that zip like cable ties are better than many of the cheaper options available. In addition, the apparent quality, lifetime warranty, and service levels by Kuat (and eTrailer) are confidence inspiring when compared with vast generic online options.

This product is exactly what I was hoping to find. I initially found it recommended on-line, especially for SUVs, but I see no reason why it would not also be great for cars, vans, and trucks.
Last night I installed it on my SUV, loaded two medium heavy bikes, and took it for a test drive. In my rearview mirror the bikes looked rock-solid, even going over not-smooth railroad tracks.
I especially appreciate seeing that the manufacturer incorporated functional features to make this a great rack for real people with real bikes mounted to real vehicles.

Kuat Beta is ideal 2" hitch, 2 bike rack.
It is well made, relatively light, very sturdy, and installs in a minute.
We recently drove for 2000 miles with our bikes on it.
Very stable, no vibration. Minimal vibration only on very rough roads, as you would expect.
I replaced a very heavy 4-bike 2" receiver rack with this model. I am impressed with the design: light weight, fast attach/removal of bike, high quality paint, quality hardware, and ease of removing the excess travel in the receiver hitch.
It was easy to put on our 2013 Lexus 450 hitch. Directions were clear. I liked the sturdiness of the carrier. Very solid with no wobble even over our Santa Fe, NM roads. I have included an extra mystery part picture. Let me know where it goes.

The part you have pictured is one of the tension knobs used to tighten up the wobble in the bike rack. There should have been two tension knobs. One of the knobs goes in the head of the bike rack and the other knob goes closer to the shank.
Great quality rack that securely holds my bike in while traveling. Love the light weight and simple operation. Only knock on design is the small knobs that are used to perform final adjustment after bike is loaded. These can spin out of the rack when not in use (in stowed position on vehicle). Fortunately Kuat only charges a buck for replacements.

Rack continues to perform well and has held up to the weather. The 80 lb. capacity was welcomed when we had 70 lbs on it for six hours. No problems.
This bike rack is exactly what we wanted. Loading the bikes and securing them is a breeze. The anti rattle thumbscrews work wonderfully. Unloading and stowing the bike rack in the back of the Equinox while out riding our bikes is easy and eliminates the 'what if' problems that we've had with previous bike racks.

After a year of use, my Kuat bike carrier has become an essential part of my travel loadout. I carry two very large and very heavy expedition bikes 45 pounds each and it has performed flawlessly across over 4000 miles of hauling. It is mounted on a 2024 Mazda CX-50 which is my primary road trip vehicle. When I am not traveling cross country, the bike carrier is used to carry trash cans up to our rural pick up area. I dont know what I would do without this piece of equipment. It was a solid investment then and I would do it all over again.
This product is exactly what I wanted. The 2" post fits in the reciever perfectly, and no wiggle. I did tighten the mounting screw, but didn't have to change the hardware I have already (locks). There are two more screws to reduce the wiggles at each pivot point, and there was little to begin with. I tend to test way beyond the breaking point, and did some aggressive driving with every bump across town to the first ride. All good and I won't worry while driving with the bike attached moving forward. Only thing I wish it had was a locking mechanism, but I used a wire cable and lock. The other comparable ones with a lock were 2X the price. I can use the additional lock if I have other plans than just a trail. Service has been outstanding and I will look for any future purchases of this kind to be through etrailer.

Still working out great. It has experienced a couple of long distance trips, and worked out great. On a different vehicle now, and still provides the ease of ping the arm for quick removal from the tailgate.
The product was out of stock when I ordered it. etrailer followed up with both phone and email contact keeping up to date. I looked at a lot of hitch bike racks both on line and at bike stores and the Kuat Beta - Aluminum Folding 2 Bike Rack for 2" Trailer Hitches - Gun Metal Gray was the best option I found. It is sturdy and light weight. It arrived ready to install. Because it is slightly offset, it does not interfere with backup camera. This is a great option If you are looking for a tilting two bike hitch rack.

Still love it. Best hitch for my needs
I did a lot of research and decided this was the rack for me. I was totally correct. First, it has all the most important features but only weighs about 14 lbs. I was concerned as a senior lady with arthritis issues. I can use it well and it performed perfectly with an adapter bar for my Electra Townie. I have had compliments from several seasoned riders and a bike shop owner here at the beach who said it was great quality and I got a great price. Also purchased a locking trailer hitch pin with bike cable from etrailer. All over satisfaction with products and etrailer who provided enough videos to help me.

The best, most thorough customer service I've found. Solid selection of gear and the rack I ordered arrived a day early. If you are in the market for a rack, you will really appreciate eTrailer's videos.
Perfect for the back of my Ford F150. The best feature, besides the light weight, is the knob you turn to draw out the play in the hitch. This makes the unit snug and sturdy.
Note: use a ball bungee or some kind of strap from the frame to the front wheel to keep the tires and handle bar from swinging around.

Outstanding product. Great design for my needs, quality paint and components. I thinks its actually nicer than my bike. I use a couple Velcro strips for even tighter mounting.
