Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this SportRack Replacement Bike Rack Head Assembly. Now, this part is a Replacement Head Assembly, and it is for the SportRack Pathway Deluxe Bike Racks. It will fit the Bike Rack Part Number A30704FB, A30703FB, the SR2704, and the SR2813. Basically, this head assembly you can see here includes both the top and the bottom plates that'll attach to the round upright of the bike rack, and they're designed to hold the bike in place. Now, it does come with the bolt here, the shoes.
Now, the knob that goes on here that you tighten down to clamp the bike in place, the knob is not included, that is sold separately. They do offer a locking knob, which is Part Number 05003400000, and also the non-locking knob, which is Part Number SR05003300000. Both of those we do sell separately on our website, but basically, again, what you'll do is this portion here is what'll bolt around the tube on the bike rack, and then once you open your top plate, you put your bike in there, you can see it has the rubber padding. Put this down over it, run your bolt through here, and then tighten down with your knob. Just to show you what we're talking about, I'm gonna pop up an insert.
There, you can see one of the bike racks that has the three head assemblies on top of it. But that's gonna do it for a look at the SportRack Replacement Bike Rack Head-to-Head Assembly.

This is a perfect replacement for my existing bike rack. My original top piece was taken off and lost. I replaced the entire mount. It would be nice if the twist lock went on more easily. I struggle to get the locking nut onto the bolt often with the thicker bike frames. However, once it is on, it holds the bike in place. They should consider adding a velcro type mount as well as this locking nut.
I was able to order a missing piece from my bike rack. It was exactly like the piece I lost. So great to be able to use the bike rack as intended!
