The bike rack/hitch is strong and easy to use. It towed and held bikes for about 3500 miles no problem

I missed two points when I ordered this bike rack ... 1 is that it is extremely heavy to lift and 2 the obvious but I missed it that the rack does not drop down ... like other racks I now own I was focused on the screw down holder which looks to be fine ... even for bikes I own that have different size cross bars The rack does sway from left to right ... just like my other racks ... great opportunity for Reese or someone to make a anti sway bar that would anchor on the vehicle hitch and connect to the vertical bike rack bar .. with a simple disconnect so the rack can be tilted Great service as usual from the people at eTrailer

- S64675
by:

Works well, easy to use. Ideally it would have a 2" receiver at the end rather than a place for a ball. Be sure to have chain extensions ready when you are towing something.

Works great, Rachael. No problems to report, thanks.

my second one I have no complaints

- S64675
by:

Had an initial problem with the base of the rack, but etrailer contacted Swagman and had them send me out a replacement. Works great now. Good customer service, good product.

- S64675
by:

Bike rack arrived quickly and works well if no height adjustment is needed. The rack would be better if it had a hitch receptacle for height adjustment rather than the ball attaching directly to the rack.

We haven't used it yet, but are planning a trip tp the Keys next month. I think it's going to work great.

- S64675

Excellent grip coverage on all four bikes, used adapter for woman's bikes. Unit did not have a lot of sway , can swing down for access to tailgate, and can still accept a ball for towing

- S64675
by:

When I received the package, the wrong part was put in the box, I contacted etrailer and they contacted the manufacturer. The replacement part was delivered to my door within days, customer service was excellent!

- S64675
by:

Perfect for my needs, how ever the ball end of the stem should have a 2" receiver so a drop down bar can be attached to insure proper height for the ball. Easy to assemble and use, holds bikes tight with almost no wiggle. Sway strap included is a bonus.

- S64675
by:

The product has exceeded my expectations. Very durabIe construction. I mount 3 bikes and then attach a Fleetwood Bayside Pop-Up Camper and the cargo pulls with ease.

As usual the product was shipped extremelly quickly from etrailer.com, and arrived in excellent condition. It was easy to assemble and fits perfectly. Thank you!

Review from a similar Original Bike Rack in RV and Camper Bike Racks

Excellent product. After installing your heavy-duty 3-bike carrier, we carried our bicycles over 4,000 miles and they are still on the back of our 2018 Jayco 43’ 5th wheel trailer. Thanks for your follow up to our purchase in 2019. Is good business action to follow up on the products you sell. Happy Trails,

Comments
Thank You Patrick for your two-year follow up notice this June 2021. We hauled our 5th Wheel Jayco all the way back to WA. state, but without the bikes. Gave them to a charity so someone else could get some use out of them. Bought a fat tire bicycle and will arrive soon. We are State Park Hosts for WA., OR., and FL. states, so we needed a sturdy bike carrier. We have had no issues with our 3-bike SWAGMAN bike carrier that has traveled approx. 8,000 miles securely fastened to the back of our 43 RV trailer. I am very impressed with my purchase!

Review from a similar Original Bike Rack in RV and Camper Bike Racks

Initial impressions. I have a Swagman from a few years ago and it was a failure on my 5th wheel. It mounted using either the 2" or the smaller receiver and I had it installed, with proper adapter, on a 2" receiver. A rough road caused the receiver bar to bend and we almost lost the bikes. This one is only 2" receiver and the bar is much more substantial. I expect it to work very well. Swagman has a replacement bolt/pin that will allow locking it to the receiver and they have an optional cable that locks to the receiver pin. Those will add security and probably something I will purchase.

Comments
We have been using this bike rack during our full time travels for 8 months and have had no issues in more than 6000 miles. I have 2 65 pound electric bikes on it. I added a locking hitch pin. I do wish it had somewhere I could attach my cable lock for added peace of mind. I do use the padlock on the clamp that holds the bikes.

Review from a similar Original Bike Rack in RV and Camper Bike Racks

Product is better and sturdier than I expected. I was shocked at how fast it shipped. It was extremely well packaged. I have not seen this type of care in shipping for a long time. I am very happy with the product especially at the price. It had several features I was looking for: 1. It is rigid to the hitch with no flopping. 2. The bikes can be securely locked to the carrier. 3. The unit can easily be locked to the hitch (with the additional locking bolt that I would recommend purchasing. 4. When not in use it can easily be stored FLAT in the storage area of my RV without taking up a lot of room. I would highly recommend etrailer and this bike carrier. I will be doing additional business with etrailer in the future!

I used it to haul my bike down to Florida from Minnesota on the back of my RV. With the base being screwed tight to the hitch it traveled with zero problems. Very heavily built. Stores flat against the wall in the storage area underneath. I am extremely pleased with this product!

Review from a similar Original Bike Rack in RV and Camper Bike Racks

The hitch was easy to assemble and install. I needed the Swagman lock and anti wobble blot for my hitch to keep it from wobbling. Fits three bikes; for my mountain bike I needed a bike rack cross bar.

  • How to Carry Four Bikes and Tow Pop-Up Camper
We do have a potential solution for you, though the Swagman Original 4 Bike Towing Rack # S64675 does not allow a rise in the shank. The way this rack works is actually that the hitch ball gets attached to the rack, which is why you can't have a rise or drop when using it. Instead, the best option, assuming your pop-up camper is an A-frame, is to use the Stromberg Carlson Bike Bunk Trailer-Mounted Bike Rack Carrier for A-Frame Trailers # CC-275 with the Swagman Original - 4 Bike Rack...

The easiest solution would be to use a tailgate bike rack like the # SR26461. Your bikes will basically just set on the top of your tailgate with this rack.
