This multipurpose bike rack is perfect for use with your everyday vehicle and your recreational vehicle - all in one package. The bike rack mounts to a standard 2" square trailer hitch receiver, but - by adding an included sleeve to your bike rack shank - it also fits your RV bumper. The sleeve slides over your bike rack shank, and it's held in place by your threaded hitch pin. The sleeve is then connected with bolts to another included plate placed under your RV bumper. Installation takes only minutes.

The rack comes with wheel hoops that provide a stable base for mounting your bikes. The hoops adjust with a hand knob and slide along the arms of your rack to accommodate bikes with wheelbases up to 52" and tires up to 3-1/2" wide.

The upright arm includes a pair of push-button, ratcheting hooks that hold your bikes securely in place to prevent bike-to-bike and bike-to-vehicle contact during transport. The hooks feature soft padding to protect your bike frame, are offset so that you can carry two bikes of the same size simultaneously, and can be locked with a 1/4" padlock. Fold down the entire upright arm by pulling a pin at the base; this enables you to reach all the gear in your vehicle's rear cargo area obstacle free.

You can release the side arms of the rack by pulling pins at the base, then fold them up for convenient storage.

Video Transcript for Swagman RV Bumper 2 Bike Rack Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Swagman Platform Style 2-Bike Rack designed for use with RV bumpers or any standard 2 inch hitch. Part number on it is S64663. As you can see here, we've got our rack mounted to the back of our RV. This rack is great, it allows you to mount it onto any RV that has a square bumper here in the rear that's 4 to 4 1/2 inches wide. The rack will hold a wide variety of bikes. We have fully adjustable wheel cradles here.

They'll move along the entire length of the cradle or the cradle arm rather to allow us shortest bikes up to a lot of the very larger bikes. The cradles themselves, as you can see we've got our road bike mounted here, goes all the way down to the thinnest of thin bike tires all the way up to a 3 1/2 inch wide tire. Our center mast has two ratcheting style hooks on it. They've made them in two different lengths, we've got a shorter one and a longer one. This is going to allow us to transport two bikes that are the same size so if both of our hooks are the same length and both of our frames we're the same size they'd want to be in the same place. They'd want to hit each other.

Since they've designed that with those two different ones, tall bike, short bike can go in here at the same time or two tall bikes, really simple setup. Another great feature, right down here, it's kind of tough to see but there is a small pin hole there. Once we have our bikes on the carrier, we've got them heading down, before we leave we can actually put a small lock right through that. We can easily secure our bike to our rack using two locks, part number 131D. As you can see, when not in use the Swagman's really going to tuck into a nice small package, makes it really easy to store at home or even tuck it into one of the storage compartments on your RV. We've got two pins that are located down here at the base, pulling these allows us to rotate our wheel cradle arms down into position, we're going to reinsert those, of course. As you can see right here, pull it out, it's just a detent style.

Really easy to use, you just use pressure to get them in and out rather than some of them have a keyhole style where you have to turn it to just the right position and it can sometimes be a little bit of a headache. Our center mast also, after we're pulling the pin here, is going to lay down, out of the way for us. We can take that to both sides as you can see. Maybe one side works better than the other one does. You find your hole there and you'll simply want to reinsert your pin to hold it into place. This is going to be real handy if you've got something here like maybe a table that we want to fold down off the back of our RV, camper or maybe a pop-out or something like that. Now they have constructed this completely of steel and it has a black powder-coat finish.

It's really going to resist the corrosion for the dirt and debris you often find here in the rear of a RV. Also, 80 pound weight capacity with this thing so both bikes can weigh up to 40 pounds a piece. It's going to give us a real strong steady ride for our equipment. Another great feature of our rack is it's easy to removal when we're all said and done with it. We just want to pull the clip that we used, pull our bolt on out and that's really all there is to it. We've got it removed from our RV or camper and we can get heading down the road. To begin our installation, we'll come here to the bumper on our RV. We're going to bring in our bumper adapter and the plate that goes on the bottom. We also need to grab our five longer bolts and the nylon lock nuts. We'll find the position we want our adapter to be on our RV bumper, this one's got a spare tire over there so we don't want to go too far that way. At the same time we don't want to come over to this side too far because then our bikes will be hanging past the end of our RV and that's not something we want either. We picked this position. I think it's going to work really well, give us the clearance we need on both sides. Now we'll just bring our larger bolts down through, all four of our slots and then we'll start placing our bolts down through the plate, you want to get a couple nuts started on there just to hold it up into place. I got the two front started there, let's get the two in the rear started. All right, now that we've got those started, we just want to make sure that we've got this squared up on our bumper. We certainly don't want it twisted one way or another. Then we'll bring in our wrenches and start tightening this dude up. You do want to be sure that you hold your position, as you can see there as we we're tightening up our bolts, it's going to move and it's going to twist a little bit on you but just stay with it, you'll get them tight and be nice and secure. I put four of those nice and tight, now we'll grab our rack, we'll slide it right into our bumper adapter just like we would if we we're using this rack on a vehicle. In that case, you'd be sliding it right into the receiver tube of your hitch. Line up your threaded pin hole with the hitch pin hole, take our provided anti-rattle bolt and then we'll tighten that down with the wrench as well. Now this bolt should be torqued down to 40 foot pounds, I think is what it says in the instructions there, so you will want to keep that in mind. Once we have it secure, we'll slide our provided clip right in that other end. Then it's just going to be a matter of loading up our bike. We'll pull our frame hook down. As you can see, loaded up and ready for the road. Now that we've got our rack loaded to capacity, let's head out and see what it looks like in action. That will complete today's look at the Swagman RV Bumper Mounted 2-Bike Platform Style Rack, part number S64663. .

We bought this bike rack to use on the back of our travel trailer, works very well for transporting two bike, we live in Michigan and travel to Florida. . We have also used it on the back of our pickup truck, as it will slide into the hitch receiver. Good purchase. 584383

Product was originally back ordered from the manufacturer. eTrailer went above and beyond to see that I had this product before a near term departure date. Product is quite heavy and arrived well packaged. No shipment damage whatsoever despite the bulk and weight. Assembly was very straightforward and took about half an hour. Assembly directions were very clear but were not really needed. Simple hand tools are all that are required, although a few of the bolts will take a heavier duty adjustable wrench or set of sockets to install. Once installed and loaded with a pair of bicycles, I found the unit to be extremely stable (both on the back of my pickup truck and on the back of my RV). Once the cradles are properly adjusted for the spacing of the bicycle wheels, loading and unloading bicycles is a breeze. No more heavy lifting many feet off the ground. Although I did supplement with a binder strap, the bicycles are held very secure once you drop the top hooks down on them. The only con I have (which is mostly my own fault) is that the top latch scratched the frame on my bicycle because brake and shift cables run exposed along the top of my bike frame and I didn't think about the hook pushing them into the paint. Some padding under those cables before dropping the hook would have solved the problem. This is an innovative and well made rack that will give you many years of service and save you a lot of grief in the process. 52038

I mount this to the rear bumper on our new 2020 Entegra Odyssey 26 foot class C RV that rides on a Ford E450 chassis. I gave this a 2 Star rating because even though it is a well built, sturdy 2 bike carrier it has two flaws and with minor changes it would be a 5 star rated. I'm going to keep and just modify it to work for us. The first issue. The bike closes to the rear wall of the RV handlebars are right up against the RV fiberglass wall with our Jamis road bikes when you use the supplied clamp using it as intended. The second issue is the two adjustable hold down clamps are not shaped right to securely hold the bikes down safely. I had to put them in my vice and reshepe them the old fashion way. With a small sledgehammer. 718617

Bought this Swagman bike rack so we could take our mountain bikes camping and use the rack on either our truck or our 5th wheel. It's a sturdy rack that's relatively easy to use. Releasing the hold-down hooks can be difficult at times, but not a big deal. Once you get the tire hoops set in the right position it's easy to get the bikes secured on the rack. In short, I would buy this rack again. There are some nicer racks out there that might be easier to use, but they cost a lot more. This one is the best bang for the buck that I've found. 414887

I recently completed the assembly of the bike rack. The rack comes to you about 3/4 assembled. The process is fairly painless if you are just a little bit mechanically inclined. I found the rack to be well made with some nice adjustable features. The clamps that hold the bikes in place are of two different sizes ( height or length). This allow us to use the shorter one on my wife's bike and the longer one on my bike. The adjustable wheel cradles are easy to adjust to different bike lengths. Haven't driven down the road with the bikes loaded but I don't see any issue with the rack in that regard. I will be cutting a hole in a tennis ball to put on the handle bar closest to the back of the camper. The rack appears to be solid. I did choose to go with the optionally available locking pin as well. This really solidified the feel of the rack. 699047

I started out with the actual hitch mount approach and it works great. I use a locking chain and bungee cords to make sure the bike(s) don’t somehow jump off. It is really easy to mount the rack and then load the bike(s). This year I now have a dinghy attached thus using up my hitch. Not a problem with this rack as it can be adapted to be a RV bumper mount - all of the parts needed for the conversion were provided with the original order. I will let you know how well it is working in a follow up review #2. 581581

Bike rack was easy to assemble. We wanted a bike rack for our 5th wheel to fit on the bumper and still retain the roof ladder that's in the middle of the bumper. After tightening the hitch bolt, it is very sturdy. 512386

..we received our Swagman bike carrier in just 3 days after placing our order on a Saturday! We got our confirmation in minutes and the shipping info followed an hr later. WOW..great service !! The carrier was easy breezy to put together (approx 10 min) and then another 10-15 to place on the trailer bumper. We just got back from a week long trip..used our bikes every day. They were SO easy to get on and off. We wondered why we didn't buy from you sooner!!! All in all..a Great bike rack. 100098

Hi Patrick! We still LOVE our Swagman! It goes with us on all of our camping adventures. Sometimes we see vehicles on the way.. with their bicycle tires flapping around and we always say..they should have gotten a swagman!! Ha ha. We will continue to share with our fellow campers how easy E-Trailer.Com was to use. Thanks for the email and your great customer service!Tamara C.Kennewick, WA

I bought the Swagman 64663 approved for RV. It was easy to assemble and install. Well made and should last. My only issue was the bike handle will rub the back of my RV. So, I'll add a short extension. My hitch attaches to the frame and does not have a bumper. With a bumper, an extension probably would not be required. As always customer service has been great. 540626

I used this hitch in a very different way, I bolted it backwards to my deck plate on Peterbilt 387 tractor so that my wife & I could carry our bikes on our cross country runs. It works real well. After 8 years of use and the abuse of salty winter roads my first one was getting in tough shape so I replaced it with another new one of the same model. It's a very sturdy unit and gave me years of dependable service, would highly recommend it to anyone. Here is a photo of the old one in service a few months before I replaced it. 84828

This hitch does a super job in a very tough environment being that mine is installed on a Class 8 vehicle, a Peterbilt 387, behind the cab

Good product and seems to hold the bikes pretty good. The only issue I have is that the handlebars from one of my bicycles hits the RV housing. If you get this product and install it, please keep in mind that you will probably have to pad the one side of the handgrip. I have a spare tire attachment as well that I had to move. No big deal. Just that it's covering up the license plate now. We'll see how long it takes the "fuzz" to pull me over and tell me about this. LOL! 399641

Comments
Still working great! Havent been pulled over yet for partial blocking the RV plate. Still sticking to my original comment about padding the handle bars against the RV.

Just mounted on my camper (Scamp 5th wheel) looks good and solid bikes fit well. Product arrived safe and sound on time although a box inside a box inside a box was a bit overkill. Great website, service and products....thanks Etrailer. 87251

Product has worked well on the back of my camper trailer. Other racks sway and rub bikes together creating wear. This rack is rock solid no wear the bikes do not even move or touch. If you have a camper trailer dont bother looking at other types of racks use this type.

This is a well-constructed platform rack that appears to be sturdy yet relatively light weight, making it less of a burden on the rear bumper of our travel trailer. Had a few minor issues in assembling it. Instructions could be a bit more detailed--e.g. nowhere did they indicate where to use the four small washers, and end retainer screws are screws but are drawn like bolts in the instructions diagram. Having had platform racks before I think I finally deduced how to assemble all the parts correctly in the end. The rack sits a little too close to our travel trailer when mounted, and there is no adapter to move it out a little further. Had to put a piece of foam rubber on one bike handle to reduce chance of dents where it comes close to the trailer. Overall pretty satisfied with the rack and think it will serve its purpose. 414560

Comments
Less happy with it. The ratchet hook in the front has a tendency to lose its grip and move upward when subjected to bouncing at the rear end of our travel trailer. Have had to install hose clamp around the top of the retainer hook to secure the bike frame to the hook, plus put velcro straps around the lower wheel and platform wheel cradle so the bike doesnt work its way loose. The teeth the ratchet hook attaches to have also worn down and Ive had to file new grooves in the area where theyve degraded. Wish Id bought a sturdier model platform rack, although sturdier ones tend to weigh a lot more and strain the rear bumper on the trailer.

can't use it with my Montana 3731FL 5th wheel, the bumper set a little under the back of the RV so I can't bolt the rack to the bumper. 521928

I have looked through our other bumper mount hitch options that we have for an RV and most of them would still interfere with how your bumper is recessed under your trailer. I am sorry this did not not work for another option that you might consider would be a ladder bike rack. I have included those here for your reference. I did speak with our representatives at Swagman and if you have the clearance you can mount the receiver portion on the underside of your bumper, but that looks like it would be difficult as well. All the other RV bumper mounted hitch will need access to both sides to properly secure the hitch to the RV bumper, and I can see that you bumper may not provide that access.

Great bike rack. I have both a Ram truck and a travel trailer, so the fact that I can use the same rack on both is a great plus. My cross bike has hydraulic disc brakes with the lines routed under the cross bar, so my earlier hanging rack gave me concerns that the lines would be damaged. No issue with this rack. I am an engineer, instructor and documentation expert, so I take notice on instructional and procedural documentation. I rate yours fair. The text and diagrams are too small for clarity. I initially installed the wheel holders upside down, which I did not notice until after I installed the stop screws (not set screws as you describe). I also drilled starter holes in the end caps so that I could get the screws started. Nothing tells you to install the bolt and knob in the wheel holders prior to sliding them in place. If added, it would prevent the upside down issue, especially if you added "knob up". There is no identification of parts. Many will not know what lynch pins, foot, (receiver bar?), etc. are. The "set screws" are bolts, not screws. I like the fact that I can carry the unit on the Ram and lower the bar to get the tailgate down without removing the rack. 107440

We love this bike rack! It is one of the few rated for behind a travel trailer (and our car). We have tried a few others in this price range, but the adjustments are clumsy. This one is slick and everything stays put. 790939

The product was everything it was described to be. Very well made and easy to assemble. I may have to do a little re-configuring of the hitch bar, as this is going to be used on a cargo trailer which sits fairly close to the ground, (12"). It will need to be a little longer and angle up. But I have a great metal guy. I am very happy with the product 785823

The XTC2 is a very popular bike rack we offer, highly rated by our customers and is easy to use. Because the rack has an angled shank it provides three inches of additional ground clearance. This is important...

  • Recommended Bike Rack to Use with Stromberg Carlson Bike Rack Carrier # CC-275 on RV
For a bike rack to use with the Stromberg Carlson Bike Bunk Trailer-Mounted Bike Rack Carrier # CC-275 on your RV, I recommend the Swagman Platform-Style 2 Bike Rack # S64663. This is an RV rated 2 bike carrier that will be compatible with the 2 inch receiver on the Stromberg Carlson Carrier. The rack features sliding wheel hoops that can adjust to accommodate bikes of different lengths. I recommend adding the Swagman Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Cable # S64030 to secure both the rack to...

  • Is Swagman Platform Bike Rack S64663 Suitable for Back of 5th Wheel
Yes, the Swagman Platform-Style 2 Bike Rack # S64663 is rated for use at the back of a 5th wheel trailer like yours so it would be suitable for you. I attached a review video for it as well. If you plan on carrying any womens or alternative framed bikes without horizontal top tubes you may also be interested in purchasing a Kuat Bike Frame Adapter Bar # UB01 to provide a horizontal top tube on your bikes to provide an attachment point. I attached a review video for this product also....

  • Looking for Bike Rack with 100 lb Capacity to Clear Spare Tire on 1994 Chevy Sportsman RV
As you state, the weight capacity of the Swagman Platform-Style 2 Bike Rack is 80 lbs. I cannot recommend exceeding that figure, as doing so can damage the receiver hitch resulting in loss of the rack and the bikes. We do offer two platform-style racks with sufficient weight capacity to safely carry your bikes. The Thule T2, part # TH9044, offers a 120 lb weight capacity, and offers 19 inches of clearance between the hitch pin hole in the shank that slides into the receiver and the closest...

  • Would Bikes and Swagman RV Bumper Bike Rack Obstruct Vision of Tail Lights on RV
It would be illegal if the tail lights of your RV were completely obstructed. However, you should check with your state Department of Motor Vehicles for details. There is a good chance your tail lights would shine through the spokes of the wheel allowing them to be visible, and therefore safe and legal. I recommend testing the tail lights with the bike rack in place to see if the tail lights are visible while the bike is in the simulated mounting location. If they are obstructed significantly...

  • Bike Rack Recommendation for a 4 inch RV Bumper
Continously welded 4 inch bumper means that it doesn't have an open side on it. It's 4 inch by 4 inch and has no open sides. As long as their isn't an open side on your bumper the part # S64663 would work great.

  • RV Bike Rack For Camper Trailer to Fit Around Spare Tire
18 inches from the center of a hitch pin hole to out and around a spare is a pretty large distance. The only bike rack solution I have for that would be the RV Bumper 2 Bike Rack for Around the Spare Tire # S80501 that is designed to fit around a spare like in the picture I attached. I also attached a review video that shows it being installed and demoed as well. Hitch extenders like you mentioned aren't great solutions since they add quite a bit of movement and leverage to the accessory...

  • Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack Recommendation for a Tiffin Allegro RED Motor Home
We have numerous racks that are rated for use behind an RV or trailer that would work for you. A rack with 4 inches of clearance probably will not work. The regular XC, # S64650, measures 10-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole out to the first wheel hoop. The XTC-2 that you referenced, # S64670, would also be a better choice. It measures 8 inches from hitch pin hole to wheel hoop. I have included links to videos on both racks for you to view. I have also included a link...

  • Platform Bike Rack That Will Mount On The Back Of An RV With A Spare Tire Carrier
The Swagman Platform-Style 2 Bike Rack part # S64663 has a distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the first part of the upright mast of 10-1/2" and 8" to the wheel hoop. If the tire protrudes outward more than 10 inches beyond the center of the hitch pin hole of your RV's hitch then this bike rack will not work. For a bike rack with a greater distance from center of the hitch pinhole to the upright mast, I recommend using the Swagman Escapee 2-Bike Platform Rack part # S64693...

  • RV-Rated Bike Rack Recommendations for Class A Motorhome
A hitch extension would seem to be the ideal solution for your circumstances with insufficient bike clearance at the back of your RV, but any type of extension like # C45791 will cost you half of your hitch capacity. Hitch adapters/extenders cause this loss of capacity because they change the geometry of the system, allowing for more stress to be applied to the hitch tube because the actual load is further away. A better option is an RV-rated bike rack that provides enough clearance...

  • Bumper Bike Rack Recommendation for Rear of Cougar Fifth Wheel Camper
I looked up pictures of Cougar fifth wheels and every shot of the rear of one had a 4 inch bumper on it that could be used for a bike rack like the Swagman Platform Rack part # S64663 which comes with a bumper hitch you would install on the trailer. I attached a review video for this rack that shows it at the rear of a camper similar to yours.

  • Recommended Bumper Mounted Bike Rack Rated for RV Use on 2018 Lance 2375 Travel Trailer
For your 2018 Lance 2375 travel trailer, you are correct that the 1-1/4 inch hitch receiver won't do much good. Bike racks that are rated for RV use are mostly 2 inch options. There is only one exception that I am aware of and it is the Lets Go Aero BikeWing-2 # B01311. This rack is about as basic as you get, but it will be compatible with your receiver. For your travel trailer, I recommend the Swagman Platform-Style 2 Bike Rack for 2" Hitches or RV Bumpers # S64663. This bike rack...

  • Bike Frame Adapter Recommendation for a Day 6 Dream Bike
The frame adapter bar we recommend the most is the Swagman Easy Out adapter part # 64005. This adapter has an adjustable range of 16 to 29-1/2 inches. You will want to measure the distance between your seat post and steering stem to verify that this adapter would work for you. If you need a longer adapter the Hollywood Racks adapter part # HRBA-PRO-XL has a range of up to 32-4/5 inches.

  • Platform-Style Hit-Mount Bike Rack Recommendation For Montana Fifth Wheel Trailer
We do offer several bike carriers that will work on the back of your motorhome. I recommend the Swagman Platform-Style 2 Bike Rack, part # S64663 and think it may work well for you. This rack will accommodate bikes with wheels up to 3-1/2 inches wide and with a wheelbase up to 52 inches long. This will fit a 2 inch receiver opening and has a weight capacity of 80 lbs, which is right at the weight you said your 2 bikes would weigh. I have attached a product review video you can check out.

  • Bike Rack for 2003 Coleman Carmel A-Frame Pop-Up Camper
The Swagman Platform-Style 2 Bike Rack for Bumpers, part # S64663, requires both that the bumper be continuously welded along its entire length for maximum strength (rather than having spot welds at intervals along it) and that it be 4- to 4-1/2-inches tall. In your case with a 3-inch bumper, you could use a wood block to make up for the different dimension of your bumper but only if the bumper is continuously welded along its entire length. Another option is the Stromberg Carlson Bike...

  • 2 Bike Rack For Use Between a Class A Motorhome and a Towed Vehicle
It sounds like you are looking for a Dual Hitch Adapter, see link. I would recommend the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, item # RM-077-2, for towing a vehicle and using a bike rack in the top receiver. You could use the Swagman Platform-Style 2 Bike Carrier, item # S64663, which would be a good choice, or any of the bike racks we have rated for use behind a RV that will fit in a 2 inch hitch, see link.

  • RV Hitch Bike Rack Recommendation for a Class C Motor Home
If you are concerned about the bikes swaying, I recommend the Swagman platform style bike rack, item # S64663. This rack will install in the hitch and holds the bike at the wheels and frame so there is no chance of the bikes contacting each other or the rear of the vehicle. If you would like a rack with frame mount cradles the Swagman Original 3, item # S64152-2, is a good choice. This rack is sturdy enough for your application, but will allow some movement of the bikes when starting...

The Swagman Platform-Style 2 Bike rack for RV Bumpers, item # S64663, will sit a little lower than the other carriers like the Swagman XC, item # S64650. You would need a 2 inch receiver hitch to use the # S64663 RV bumper rack on your vehicle.

  • Bike Rack Recommendation for the Back of a 2014 Forest River Travel Trailer
The weight capacity of the bumper should be included with the literature for the trailer. If not, contact Forest River because that might be something that they know even if not listed in the manual. The Swagman rack # S64663 weighs around 35 pounds or so and when loaded to its max capacity you are looking at a total of 115 pounds. If the bumper is not strong enough or there is not enough space for the rack then I would go with a ladder mounted rack. We have # LA-102 which has a capacity...

  • Platform Bike Rack Recommendation without Rise in Shank for Front Mount Hitch
Your best option for the front mount hitch on your 2004 Toyota Tundra would be a platform hitch that does not have a rise built into the shank like the part # S64663. This rack would basically put your bikes level with the hitch opening and would be the lowest profile setup that should work well for you.

  • Recommendations for Carrying 4 Bikes on Rear of Flagstaff MicroLite XLT
Your concern about the potential liability caused by objects coming off the rear of an RV is a valid one. To determine the carrying capacity of your RV bumper, the RV manufacturer will be your best resource, as I do not have engineering information about bumper capacities on any one given RV. Once the capacity of the bumper is known, you can then make a decision about how much weight you can carry and which rack you should use. The strength of the bumper will depend on its construction...
