  • Towing Utility Trailer With Bike Rack While Needing More Rise From Ball Mount
I think we have a solution for you here, but the two parts you mentioned are using an adapter and adapter together. What you can do instead is which is use a Gen-Y ball mount shanks with stacked receivers. This gives you the ability use both a ball mount and bike rack, stacked at different heights so they don't interfere with each other. I'm not sure how much more rise you need, so here are a couple options: - 7-1/2" Drop/Rise: Shank for Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount # 325-GH-304 - 10"...

  • Availability of Coupler Lock With a 5/16 inch Pin Diameter
A pin with a 1/4 inch diameter, like part # e98886, is standard for coupler locks. Unfortunately there are none that are 1/16 of an inch larger in diameter. If instead you meant that you needed one with a span of 5/8 of an inch then you will want to go with the Master Lock Adjustable Trailer Coupler Lock # 2847DAT which has a 5/8 inch adjustment setting. If you meant that the pin diameter needed to be 5/8 inches then you are looking for part # e98880.

  • Can a 1-1/4 - 2 Adapter be Used to Safely Haul a Cargo Carrier with a 2015 Toyota Corolla
The concept of a hitch adapter like the Brophy # HTAD is a good idea in theory but the problem with using one of those with a 1-1/4" hitch, like part # C11265 or # 24913 for your 2015 Toyota Corolla, is that it will reduce the weight capacity of your trailer hitch by 50%. Since those trailer hitches have a tongue weight rating of 200 lbs this means that the tongue weight will be reduced to 100 lbs. If you were to use all of this for the 24x59 Curt Cargo Carrier # C18151 you would only...

  • Recommended Ball Mount for 2 Inch Ball with No Rise and No Drop
For a 2 inch hitch ball that has no rise and no drop, I recommend the Curt Solid 2-Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 2" and 2-5/16" Balls - 10K - Black # C45660. For your anti-rattle, I recommend the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch for 2" Trailer Hitches # RM-061 which will give you the anti-rattle and then # e98880 for a locking hitch pin. If you want a 3 ball option I recommend # C62KR.

  • How Does Lock N Roll Articulating Trailer Hitch 336VS501 Deter Theft
The vehicle side of the Lock N Roll Articulating Trailer Hitch # 336VS501 can be locked to the vehicle's 2-inch receiver hitch using any standard pin lock such as # e98880. The mating part that bolts or welds on to the trailer # 336TS508 will only couple to the Lock N Roll system. Unlike a traditional ball coupler, which is compatible with any hitch ball of a matching size, the trailer-side Lock 'N' Roll coupler can only connect to a vehicle-side Lock 'N' Roll hitch. So your trailer cannot...

  • Determining Correct Ball Mount or Draw Bar for your Vehicle and Trailer Combination for Level Towing
To find the correct ball mount you want to measure from the inside top opening of the receiver on your truck to the ground. Then you want to measure the trailer from the bottom of the coupler to the ground when the trailer is level. The difference between those two measurements will give you the proper rise or drop for your application. I've attached an article to assist. If you don't want to use a fixed mount, or if you pull different trailers, you may want to consider an adjustable...

  • What Spare Tire Solution do You Recommend for RV?
I reached out to all of our current spare-tire manufacturers and we unfortunately do not carry a bumper-mount option that is approved for class c tires. • Towing While Using Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack
There is a way for you to tow your small trailer AND use the Thule T2 Pro XTR 2 Bike Rack # TH83JV, although you would not be able to do so by replacing the lower tube on the rack. Instead, what you can do is use the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount with 2" Receiver # D210. This has a ball mount that fits 2" hitches and has a receiver above it; the receiver is also 2" so it will work with the T2 Pro XTR. The ball mount can be locked to your current hitch with Hitch Lock # e98880 and for a...

  • How To Measure For Hitch Receiver Lock Pin Span
The span you refer to on the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2" Hitches # e98880 is the usable length of the pin. To properly measure for this, you can measure the outside walls of your hitch at the pin hole. If you measured, and got 2-5/8", you'd need a hitch pin with at least a span of 2-5/8" like # e98880,. Additionally, you'd need to measure the diameter of the pin hole, so you can choose the correct diameter pin as well. Usually class I and II hitches have a 1/2" diameter...

  • Hitch Pin Weight Capacity and Sheer Strength
We aren't manufacturers of those parts, and we don't have the testing ability in house, so I reached out to a couple of our manufacturers to see what information they could provide to try and help. I reached out to my contact at Curt regarding the pin and clip # C21500 and he said they haven't ever needed to test the sheer strength of a pin because the hitches and ball mounts will fail before the pin does every single time. They are rated for 6 figures easily. He gave an example of a...

  • Pin and Clip Recommendation for a Curt Cargo Carrier part # C18153
As long as you have a 2 inch hitch installed on your 2013 Toyota Sienna the Curt Cargo Carrier part # C18153 would fit and work well for you. It does not come with a pin and clip but you have a couple options. For a standard pin and clip you would want part # PC3, for a locking one part # e98880, and finally for a locking anti-rattle one you would want the part # 63232.

Unfortunately we do not have a way to replace the keys without knowing the key number for the lock. If they happened to have written down the key number from the lock then we will be able to get you a replacement. The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # e98880 will just need to be replaced.

  • Should a Locking Hitch Pin be Purchased to Help Keep a Hitch Cover from Being Stolen
A trailer hitch cover like the Rubber Hitch Cover # 22281 is not one that can be locked, but since it is a common piece it really isn't in too much danger of being stolen. However, if you you are looking at a hitch cover that is a little more unique, like the part # HTCC11805, then I do recommend going with a locking hitch pin like part # e98880 as opposed to a typical pin and clip like part # PC3. This will help to deter theft of your cover. Please note that the lock and clip/pin numbers...

  • Locking Trailer Hitch Pin for Bike Rack on 2 Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver
The Curt hitch you purchased is part # C13272 which is a 2 inch receiver so the pin hole is 5/8 inches. A good standard lock to fit is part # e98880. With that being said, a lot of bike racks have threaded hitch pins so you can't use just a standard locking pin. Their threads are usually specific to their own locks so you might need to purchase a specific lock for your specific bike rack. If you let me know which bike rack you have I can help you with a specific locking pin.

Hey there Rick, there is a way to use your 1-1/4" Kuat Sherpa 2.0 # SH12G with the 2" receiver that comes with the Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver # SH47FR. What you would need to do is simply use an adapter, the Hitch Reducer 2" to 1-1/4" # HT02. This will go in the 2" receiver and essentially turn it into a 1-1/4" receiver. It comes with a 1-1/4" pin and clip, though you won't be using that for your Sherpa so you can disregard it. The only thing you would need is something to secure...
