Should a Locking Hitch Pin be Purchased to Help Keep a Hitch Cover from Being Stolen
Question:
A trailer hitch cover like the Rubber Hitch Cover # 22281 is not one that can be locked, but since it is a common piece it really isn't in too much danger of being stolen. However, if you you are looking at a hitch cover that is a little more unique, like the part # HTCC11805, then I do recommend going with a locking hitch pin like part # e98880 as opposed to a typical pin and clip like part # PC3. This will help to deter theft of your cover. Please note that the lock and clip/pin numbers above are for 2" trailer hitch applications. If you have a 1-1/4" receiver then you need part # 1472DAT for a lock or part # PC2 for a standard pin and clip.
