A big metal hitch hanging under the bumper can ruin the lines of your vehicle. The Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver keeps things looking stock with a cross tube that stays concealed behind the bumper. When you’re not hauling, the 2" receiver detaches without tools, leaving no visible hardware or cutouts. The detachable 2" rack receiver pops into place with an automatic latch inside the stainless steel center block—no tools needed. Press the built-in lock for security, and when you’re done, turn the handle to release and stash the receiver out of sight. Road grime, wet weather, and salt can take their toll on exposed metal. This hitch is built from durable stainless steel that resists corrosion and holds up to repeated use. A black powder coat finish adds an extra layer of protection against rust and wear. With a 600-lb maximum tongue weight rating, it’s sturdy enough for hitch-mounted racks and cargo carriers while meeting SAE J684 safety standards.
Installing this hitch doesn’t mean cutting or welding. It’s a custom-fit, bolt-on design that uses existing connection points to keep your vehicle’s crumple zones intact. Terrific, zero-frustration install. I used a combination of the printed directions (color; came in the box) and the YouTube video. Everything was clear, precise and made the installation simply a function of time.
It took about 2.5 hours (no wiring).
Overall, it was a labor-intensive one-person job and was not technically difficult.

The anticipation, design and videos AWESOME! devliery... yikes... I dont know where or when it happened, but the front bar was bended, it looks very brittle even... I was so keen on american made, solid robustness and evertyhign and then this.
thank goodness I an getting shipped a new one and return the bend one. so hopefully the new one is better, but still, the fact how flimsy that bar is I did not expect...
Customer support is very accommodating, that's for sure, I am not so sure any more about this model in particular. I tried to upload some pics to show the situation I am referring to, hopefully it comes across... hopefully you have better luck then I have..

Sorry to hear it was delivered in that condition. UPS can be a bit heavy handed with things, to put it lightly, and a thin piece of steel like this can get bent. We would typically say it can be bent back (most hitches are a milder steel than you would expect as they have to be able to flex with the frame of the vehicle), but once the paint/powder coat is cracked like this, it is too far gone. I see we did get a replacement sent out to you and it looks like it is scheduled for delivery this Friday (the 5th) via UPS (hopefully the don't do whatever they did last time): 1Z7586X30369141075 Let us know how this one looks when you get it and, if it's good to go, how the install goes. On that note, what are you planning on using it for?

Fits excellent, arrived in good condition. Watch the [online] video for your specific car and everything will go smoothly.
The stealth hitch worked exactly as I expected. Once installed, easy for my local body shop in 2 to 3 hours, it is invisible unless I want to use it. It does take getting on the ground but with a pad for that purpose, it’s easy to set up the hitch for use, put on my bike rack and be on the road. After use, it’s stored in my vehicle for easy access whenever needed.
I am very pleased with my purchase! I have had it for about a year now and love the full stealth integration with my SUV BMW X5.

Installing takes time but was simplified with etrailer's DIY videos. So far this hitch has performed well with no issues. I only use it for accessories not towing. It is very stealth. I would highly recommend this solution if you want to maintain a clean look.
Great customer service, fast delivery. The instructions and videos made a hard job easier.
Installation instructions were great. Chose to have my mechanic install it during a maintenance check. Truly stealthy on a performance minded vehicle. Great choice.

Good choice on letting your mechanic do it Ryan. Installing the hitch itself is easy, it is taking apart the car and putting it back together that is a pain, much easier on a lift too. What do you plan on using the hitch for?

After one year, the hide-a-hitch is working perfectly! In fact, I used it just the other day to haul a motorcycle trailer with my motorcycle inside. If youre thinking about adding a hitch to your BMW, I highly recommend going with this setup.
The directions said installation is a 10 out of 10. I took that as a challenge and it was no problem. It did take about six hours, but it gave me the satisfaction of knowing I did it right. Zac in their customer service department is beyond AWESOME!

Works great on my 2019 X5. Installation takes some time but they do a good job documenting it, so as long as you have a good space to work on it and set aside enough time it’s not too bad. You should be comfortable taking off interior and exterior panels if you’re going to DIY it.
The hitch itself works great and is pretty easy to take on and off when needed. I use it for a four bike carrier and it’s great for that, while keeping the stock look intact when we don’t need it.
Very good quality, I was very satisfied, I installed it myself, I have no experience in this type of thing, you just have to take your time and be patient, I recommend it!

This product works even better than I thought. Stealth appearance and full hitch functionality when needed. On the G05 X5, I even get to keep my kick-to-open rear hatch feature that the factory tow package negates.
