Hello, I have a 2019 BMW x5 xDrive40i with trailer towing option 8SL and the mSport bumpers. Id like to connect my hitch to the factory connector in my trunk instead of splicing wires. If I purchase SH25VR, do I still need to purchase the following items to connect the system to my factory connector and iDrive system? Control Unit Wiring Pollak connector What functionality and parts are included with the kits active harness? If I did want full BMW functionality and to use my factory connector, can you please provide me with the needed BMW part numbers?

The Stealth Hitches Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver w/ Towing Kit # SH25VR we have is going to come with a passive harness. Since your 2019 BMW X5 xDrive40i has the 8SL towing option you would need to just order the Rack # SH89VR from us and the Active Harness/Towing Kit SHT25015A directly from Stealth Hitches.

The active harness/towing kit will come with the active wiring harness and the towing shank with 2" ball. The active harness allows your BMW ECU to monitor when a trailer is connected so it can change the way the transmission shifts.

For the exact BMW part numbers if you wanted the factory components you will want to contact a local BMW dealer with your VIN information so they can verify exactly what parts you will need.
