fantastic design and instructions. though the packaging was in good condition, the product itself had defects: first, the coating was chipped off in no less than 6 locations, requiring primer and painting prior to installation. second, the workmanship was disappointing - weld spatter in numerous locations just painted over and a couple locations where hazardous sharp edges were simply painted over as well. third, the surface of the unit was covered in adhesive residue not from the shipping packaging and the Draw-Tite and e-trailer stickers were damaged and misaligned. Having addressed those matters the installation was spectacularly easy. Not much of a lift to get to 5 stars.
After having our hitch installed on our 2020 Toyota Highlander Platinum that we bought on etrailer.com and after reading all the reviews for it we were very surprised at how it looked after and would like others to know so they don’t make the same mistake we did. DON’T go by reviews alone ( read the fine print ) in this case the words “visual cross tube” we missed and even after discussing with phone sales person stating how happy we’re going to be with the clean look…again just basing that on other reviews from people with the same year and model we were very disappointed with the overall result. Also the sensor for closing the lift gate by foot no longer worked as well and was a surprise also as many reviewers with same vehicle we’re reporting it did work. Get what you pay for I guess buyer beware.

It installed real well it fit the vehicle just as you described it. It is visible but my husband said I needed this model.
I was a little disappointed when I opened the box. There were several areas that the paint was chipped showing bare metal. I painted the spots to prevent rusting. I did call etrailer just to let them know. Better wrapping would solve this issue. The hitch did install without a (hitch) ha ha. Installed in less then one hour. It looks great on my SUV. Thanks etrailer.
This aitsvreally low to the ground and I have to add a riser to avoid scraping the ground when towing my dirtbike around on the rack i have. BUT. For everything, this works great.
If it had been available. I would have or eferred the hitch that did not require installing a bracket to lower the exhaust. I don’t like the look of the lowered exhaust and I think the exhaust is louder.
This model receiver protrudes from the bumper by 2-3". It does allow for the spare to remain in place without modification however. I have seen other brands that are flush with the bumper so that they are not a knee hazard, but not sure how the spare would fit them. Very happy with ease of installation and quality of construction.
I ordered mine on 9-20-2024 and while viewing info on 9-27-2024 the price was cheaper than when I ordered. I paid 246.92 and a week later it is 234.14. Can I get a refund of the price difference?

The product seems awesome. However, the delivery folks must have dragged the box which opened and scraped the paint of the metal in two locations totalling approx. 4 inches. Due to bare metal being exposed a can of black enamel paint was purchased and solved the problem.
This hitch is great and easy to install on your own.i just installed it took about 2 hours to complete using the video on the site. I definitely made a good choice!!

overall it installed ok -it was bent in about 2 and i had to spread it out ,wasn,t easy ,and had trouble lining up bolts from it being bent , but fits and looks good

It sounds like that the hitch may have arrived flexed. I do have an FAQ that can help with installing a flexed hitch. I would also recommend using a rust resistant paint to prevent rust from occurring.

Thank for your review. This Draw-Tite hitch for the 2020 Toyota Highlander does have a visible cross tube. If you would like a hidden cross tube, I recommend the Curt hitch part # C99FR that fits the 2020 Toyota Highlander as long as its not the XSE model. In regards to compatibility with the hands free liftgate feature, what we have found is that it will limit use to placing your foot on either side of the receiver tube but it should not completely restrict use.
