Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

I have ordered several things from your company and I highly recommend using your company. Keep up the great work.

Nice hitch was easy to install, except there was no wire to fish the bolts through the hole of the frame.

One year in and still happy with it. It has not fallen off yet, just joking. Soild hitch, solid company to purchase from.

by:

Disappointed. I am towing a 16' enclosed trailer with maximum 2000# load (2 pool tables) The side plate, just below the frame attachment, is buckling.

If you can, send us a picture of your hitch and trailer so we can work with Draw-Tite to troubleshoot your issues.

After a year and traveling thousands of miles everything is still perfect. It was a breeze to install and has held up beautifully. I will get another if I need one for another vehicle.

It's installed on our camper conversion van and either is towing a box trailer or has a hitch rack or bike rack hooked up at all times. It's never without load.

1999 Dodge Van

This Draw-Tite replaced a Curt hitch that tore at the mounting plate. The Draw-Tite has beefier mounting brackets with almost double the surface area of the Curt and included much heavier rear brackets that attach directly to the tube rather than a separate flange. Did not have to cut anything on my 1999 Dodge 3500 Van even though the instructions said this would be necessary. A little disappointed it just includes zinc plated Grade 5 hardware, I upgraded to corrosion resistant Grade 8 nuts & bolts. Solid hitch, should consider it as a first choice even though it’s a little more expensive. Only hitch with a 10K pound/1,000 lb tongue weight weight distributing rating.

2001 Dodge Ram Pickup

Perfect fit on my Dodge Ram 3500 Van. Incredibly easy to install and I did the install myself with no help. All install hardware was included. Quality of the hitch receiver is great. I really love the "hidden hitch" aspect as it is 100% shin saver. Shipping was quick via UPS. Killer product from a great company. Thank you etrailer.

by:
1996 Dodge Van

The trailer hitch I ordered arrived ahead of schedule and was in good condition. It took my son and me about 2.5 hours to install it due to having to cut some sheet metal away (which the enclosed directions clearly indicated would need to be done) so we got it installed fine.

We haven't used it yet but I'm not anticipating any problems.

by:

Absolutely perfect, I had it installed using only hand tools in under an hour. No complaints whatsoever, when I replace this vehicle I will be buying a new hitch from them for the new one.

by:

Great product took a very short time to put on the only problem was was in delivery and that was UPS's fault it should have been here on Friday and it came on Monday because the UPS driver was too lazy to deliver it it was a piece of cake to put on and I thank you so much for trying to get it here on Friday I would purchase again from you and I would recommend you to anybody that needed a hitch thank you so much

by:

Exactly what I wanted. Mounting brackets on hitch at the right position. Was easy install on my van.

by:

A great trailer hitch! Well made, well painted.... appears to be durable and best of all I could install it myself. All parts lined up perfectly and nuts, washers and bolts installed without a problem! SO HAPPY I BOUGHT THIS FROM etrailer! Thanks!

by:

The hitch itself seems very good. Very fast delivery as well. Left off one star because I only received half of the instruction page. Installed it and didn’t know there were additional brackets that bolt on to the bumper mount. I happened to find the full instructions on the product page while I was searching for torque specs.

by:
1997 Dodge Van

Great quality. Instructions were a little off but it was easy to figure out. Installation was another story... Fast shipping. The box with all the bolts in it could have been taped up better as they were all rolling around in the shipping box with the hitch.

Took less than a hour to install...shipping was fast...hitch and wiring were a breeze to install..got it at 9 a.m. and was at the lake by 10:30!!

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch and Wiring for 1994 Dodge Van B Series
As long as your 1994 Dodge Van B-Series features the standard bumper, I recommend the Draw-Tite Class III Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75140. This Class III hitch is custom-fit for this vehicle, which means it will use existing holes in its frame for a no-drill installation. It features a tongue weight capacity of 500 pounds and a towing weight capacity of 5,000 pounds. I highly recommend checking your copy of the owner's manual to verify the vehicle's towing capacity, as you will...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation For A 1995 Dodge Roadtrek
Hello Jonathan. We do offer a trailer hitch that fits the 1995 Dodge Roadtrek. I recommend the Draw-Tite # 75140 which will be a fit as long as your Dodge Roadtrek has the standard factory bumper and not the step bumper. This is a bolt-on hitch so no welding is required.

  • Hitches to Fit 1987 and 1995 Dodge Vans
There are three hitches that fit the full-size 1987 Dodge Van with a standard bumper. These are parts # 75140, # 87492 and # C13041. The hitches that fit the 1995 Dodge Van (again the full-size with standard bumper) include three shared parts, # 75140, # 87492 and # C13041. But the other hitches that fit the '95 are not common fits with the '87. The hitches for the '95 appear on the linked page. If you have a hitch that can fit the '95 you can install it using Replacement Hardware kit # RHK.

  • Best Trailer Hitch For 1995 Dodge 2500 Van V8 With Standard Bumper
Hello Kenzie, thanks for reaching out. We do offer a custom fit hitch for the 1995 Dodge 2500 Van. Take a look at the following: - Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13041 This will fit full size van models with the standard (non-step) bumper. Access holes will already be present on the frame, so it can be installed with no drilling. It has a 6,000 lb towing capacity and 600 lb tongue weight rating. What will you be using the hitch for? Hauling a trailer?

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver for a 2000 Dodge Van 3500
I have attached a photo that shows where and what holes the Class III Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75140 uses to install on your 2000 Dodge Van. If the back-up tank that you mentioned uses these holes then we would not have a custom fit hitch for you unless you removed the tank and relocated it to another part of the vehicle. The other option you have would be to install a universal trailer hitch receiver that can install on the outside of the frame rails like the Draw-Tite...

  • Recommended Hitch for 1998 Dodge Ram B1500 Van with Factory Standard Bumper
For a 1998 Dodge B1500 van with a standard factory bumper (and no weld nuts in the frame) the hitch I recommend is the USA-made Curt # 13015. I suggest this hitch because it has a higher weight rating than the Draw-Tite # 75140, 6000-lbs trailer weight rather than 5000-lbs, which gives you a useful safety margin. It includes all required hardware and an installation video is linked for you too. If you also need a 4-pole harness you can use Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole...

  • 1992 Dodge Ram 250 Conversion Van Hitch Recommendation
The Zephyr conversion didn't do anything to change the rear bumper and frame area of your 1992 Ram 250 van, so a standard hitch would work great for you. I'd recommend the Curt Class III Receiver Hitch # C13041. The hitch has a 6000 lb towing/600 lb tongue weight capacity. If used with a weight distribution system, that would climb to 10,000/1000 lbs. In other words, the hitch will have more towing capacity than the van, although you'll be limited to the actual capacity of the van. The...

  • Why Doesn't Curt Hitch 13590 Have Same Cut Out Bracket as Draw Tite 75140
The reason the Curt # 13590 does not have the same cut out as the # 75140 is because instead of a cut out or recessed section it is missing that part of the bracket altogether. The Draw Tite uses fewer mounting holes so yes I would say it would be easier to install.

  • Hitch Availability for 1999 Dodge 1500 Conversion Van
Several hitches, both Class III and Class IV types, are offered for the different versions of the 1999 full-size Dodge van. The key factor in selecting the right one is the type of bumper on the van, either a standard bumper or a step bumper. The presence of the spare tire is not noted by the manufacturers as affecting the fit; only the bumper type matters. Please see the linked article on bumper types. Versions of the van with existing weld nuts on the frame are not compatible with certain...

And from Curt we have # C13041 rated for 600 pounds tongue weight and 6,000 pounds gross trailer weight. Both of these are Class III trailer hitches with 2 inch receivers. • Rear Hitch for 1996 Pleasureway Motorhome on Dodge Van 3500 Chassis
We do offer hitches for the 1996 Dodge Van, but they are meant to be used with the van, not with a motorhome on a van chassis. When a motorhome is added to the chassis, the spatial relationship between the frame members and the rear bumper always changes, meaning that a hitch designed for the van won't work. I'd recommend using a motorhome hitch, see the provided link. One of the adjustable width hitches would work best. In order to find the hitch that would work best, measure the outside...

  • Best Way to Carry Bikes on 1994 Dodge 350 Camper Van
Hello Erin, I have a solution for you, but unfortunately we do not have a front mounted hitch for the 1994 Dodge Camper Van. Since carrying bikes on the front of a vehicle can impede your head lights and turn signals, as well as potentially add unneeded stress to your vehicle by restricting airflow to your engine, I would recommend another method altogether if possible. If your camper van has a spare tire, I recommend using a spare tire rack like the Malone Hanger Spare T3 OS # MPG2147...

The receiver is rated for 500lbs of tongue weight and 5,000lbs towing with a standard trailer hitch and with weight distribution hitches capacity doubles to 1,000lbs of tongue weight and 10,000lbs of trailer weight. The bad news is that you cannot use hitch # C15300 from a 1998 Dodge Ram Pickup on a 2000 Dodge Van because the hitches are not interchangeable. This is a custom fit trailer hitch so it is designed specifically for the Dodge Van which is why it will not fit any other models.
