Question:
Hi, in a 1994 dodge ram van 250B 3.9L, V6, are there any custom modifications needed to install a trailer hitch?

Unless you have the factory step bumper the process to install a hitch on your 1994 Dodge Van is pretty simple. If you do have the step bumper it and the mounting brackets have to be permanently removed and a standard factory bumper installed.
I recommend the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch item # 75140. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your van with included hardware. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It has a 5,000 lbs towing capacity and a 500 lbs tongue weight. This capacity can be increased to 10,000 lbs and 1,000 lbs when used with a weight distribution system.
If you are planning on towing you will also need a ball mount kit item # C45534.
