  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation For 2017 Subaru Outback to Tow Small Camper
Hi John; I'd definitely get a frame-mounted hitch for your 2017 Subaru Outback to tow a small camper. I'm not aware of a bumper-mounted hitch for your Outback, but if there were one I definitely wouldn't trust it for towing purposes. There are two options for a hitch on your '17 Outback, depending on if you want a concealed crosstube or visible crosstube: - Visible Crosstube: Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13206 - Hidden Crosstube: Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13410 Another thing you'll...

  • Curt # C13410 vs Draw-Tite # 76227 for 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon
The J-pin style of anti rattle device that can be used with the Draw Tite hitch part # 76227 is the part # 63201 and is not normally used with bike racks as they normally have anti-rattle devices built into the racks. The bike rack would have to have a hollow shank for the # 63201 to be compatible but if the rack did have a hollow shank and you really did want the Curt hitch # C13410 you could use the anti rattle # 63232 with this hitch (or the Draw Tite) and you'd accomplish the same thing....

  • Do the Draw-Tite and Curt Trailer Hitches Require Drilling to Install on a 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon
Both the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75673 and the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13206 will require drilling to install on your 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon. It is only a 1-1/8" access hole though so it is pretty minimal. The reason why we tend to recommend the Draw-Tite trailer hitches over the Curt trailer hitches is because on a good majority or their trailer hitches (including this one) they require that a stabilizer strap like part # 18050 be used to help secure all...

  • Class III Trailer Hitch for 2016 Subaru Outback that Does Not Require Drilling
I do have a 2 inch hitch that is a no-drill installation for your 2016 Subaru Outback. It is the Curt # C13410. These hitches are getting very popular with Subaru owners. I have linked a video showing an example installation for you. Although the instructions for Class III trailer hitches such as # 75673 for your 2016 Subaru Outback state that an access hole will need to be drilled it is possible to avoid that if you can access the inside of the frame another way. In this case it means...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2019 Subaru Outback
Hey Karston, the best hitch solution for your 2019 Subaru Outback Wagon would be the Curt hitch part # C13410 as it has great towing capacities, has best ground clearance, and only minimally modifies the rear fascia. For trailer wiring you'd then want the Tekonsha part # 118467 which installs the easiest and has most reliable converter box. Do you have a ball mount already?

  • Hitch for 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon with Best Ground Clearance
For your 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon the best hitch for ground clearance is the Curt # C13410 which fits very tightly to the rear bumper of the vehicle but also doesn't have a crosstube that hangs below the bumper either which helps with ground clearance on uneven terrain as the only thing that hangs down is right in the middle. This has 1/2 inch better ground clearance than the Draw Tite that also fits. I attached a picture of what it looks like installed as well as an install video for...

  • Class III Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2017 Subaru Outback 3.6R
For a Class III hitch, I'll typically recommend the Curt product because they do a slightly nicer job on their powder coat finish than Draw-Tite does. Curt offers both a traditionally styled Class III hitch, part # C13206 which would have the entire hitch visible from the rear and a mostly-concealed hitch, part # C13410 which would have the crossbar of the hitch concealed behind the bumper with the only visible portion of the hitch being the receiver tube and the safety chain hoops. • Can Hopkins Wiring Harness for 2013 Subaru Outback be Stored in Hatch When Not in Use
You can absolutely store the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness # HM11143865 in the hatch of your 2013 Subaru Outback when you aren't using it instead of routing it outside the vehicle. The connector end will be long enough to hang outside your hatch when you need to connect it to your trailer. I have added a link to the instructions and a video install for you to check out as well of the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness # HM11143865. If you also need a trailer...

  • Curt VS Draw-Tite Hidden Cross Tube Trailer Hitch Receivers For a 2018 Subaru Outback
The Curt # C13410 and Draw-tite # 76227 are very similar in design and both have the same weight ratings of 600lbs tongue weight and 4,000lbs of trailer weight. I do like that Draw-Tite does add the additional plate of steel in between the hangers that will help give the 2" receiver additional strength. I do recommend installing the 4-Way # C56040 when you install the receiver. This will be much easier to route outside your vehicle when you have the bumper cover removed so you do not...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2017 Subaru Outback
Hey Adrian, you are on the right track for a hitch for your 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon. I would recommend the Curt part # C13410 as it has plenty of towing capacity, is mostly hidden, and the advantage it has over the Draw Tite is that we just have better luck quality wise with the USA made Curt hitches. While it's attachment method is different than attaching to bottom of the frame it has been thoroughly tested and will be perfectly safe. Have you picked out trailer wiring yet?

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2015 Subaru Outback for Carrying E-Bike
Hey David, the Curt hitch part # C13410 is a great option for a hitch for your 2015 Subaru Outback. It is mostly hidden so its easier on the eyes, install is no problem for a mechanic, and it would work great for a bike rack for an e-bike like you are needing. For a bike rack the EasyFold XT part # TH903202 is a really great option as well. It's not super heavy, it folds up for storage and easier isntall/removal, and it has a ramp that pulls out for easier loading/unloading.

  • Recommended Hitch, Wiring Harness, and Ball Mount for a 2010 Subaru Outback Wagon
We installed the Curt Trailer Hitch item # C13410 on a 2012 Subaru Outback Wagon and we found that from the top of the hitch opening down to the ground measured 15". Since your trailer has a coupler height that sits at 15-1/2", I recommend the Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2" Hitches item # C45534. This towing kit will provide you with a 2" ball and a fixed ball mount with a 3/4" rise and 2" drop. If you mount the ball on the bottom of the receiver with the Curt lettering facing down then...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For Carrying Hollywood Racks Bike Rack Behind 2018 Subaru Outback
I recommend installing the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13410 on your 2018 Subaru Outback. This receiver will fit with the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 Bike Rack # HR1450Z and provide you enough clearance both when folded and unfolded. This bike rack measures 5" from the center of the hitch pin to the closest part of the rack when folded up and 7-1/2" when unfolded. • Trailer Hitch For 2016 Subaru Outback That Won't Interfere With Rear Shocks
For a trailer hitch on your 2016 Subaru Outback Wagon that won't interfere with the shocks use the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13410. This hitch installs via the bumper and not the underside of your Subaru, which is why there won't be any interference. I have added links below to both a video install and the instructions for you to take a look at.

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2016 Subaru Outback Wagon
For your 2016 Subaru Outback wagon I really like the Curt # C13410 as it has great towing capacities and is mostly hidden since only the hitch opening hangs below the rear bumper. This does have a slightly longer install than the options that bolt to the frame like the # 75673 but long term it would be what you'd be happier with. Despite the differences in how they install they both have similar capacities.

  • Recommended Hitch for a 2018 Subaru Outback
The best hitch for your 2018 Subaru Outback is going to be the etrailer Hitch item # e42TR. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Subaru with included hardware. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It has a 400 lbs maximum tongue weight so you will have plenty of capacity for a bike rack. I really like the etrailer hitch because of its hidden design. The crosstube will install behind the bumper leaving only the 2" receiver visible. This not only looks better but it also helps...

  • Differences Between Curt, Draw-Tite, and etrailer.com Trailer Hitches for 2019 Subaru Outback Wagon
I definitely understand being a bit overwhelmed by the amount of options in front of you, however I can definitely help with differentiating the trailer hitches for your 2019 Subaru Outback Wagon along with explaining my personal recommendation, which is the Curt Class III # C13410. First off, all the hitches for your Subaru can be pretty easily broken down into two categories in terms of design; hidden and non-hidden. • Replacing Foam Bumper When Installing Curt Receiver #13410 On a 2019 Subaru Outback
The foam panel is in the bumper to help support the bumper panel as well as provide a cushion for the cover if there is a minor collision. Without the cushion the cover will tend to break or crack easier as it does not have the support needed. I have seen in some reviews that customers have had difficulties with installing the bumper cover and have chosen to leave it off. In every one of our installation videos we were able to attach the cover with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13410...

  • Curt C13410 vs. Draw Tite 76227 Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2015 Subaru Outback
There is very little difference in bumper clearances between the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76227 and Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13410 that fit your 2015 Subaru Outback. You aren't going to hit a knee on either, as the face of the hitch on both is about equal to the bumper. The biggest difference we saw between these two hitches when we test fit them on a '15 Outback was that the Curt hitch offered about an inch more ground clearance than the Draw-Tite, but otherwise the hitches...

  • Will EcoHitch or Curt Hitch Have Better Clearance for 2012 Subaru Outback
The information I have says the # 306-X7162 has a ground clearance measurement of 10-1/2". The Curt # C13410 has approximately 12" to 12-1/2" of clearance when measured to the bottom of the receiver. I'm not 100% sure how accurate the EcoHitch information is since we haven't measured it ourselves. Based on the installation and where the receiver position any difference in ground clearance appears to be negligible. The main difference between these two hitches is going to be the price....

Draw-Tite and Curt are 2 of the leading brands when it comes to towing products so a lot of their hitches look pretty similar since they are in competition with each other. When it comes to the Draw-Tite # 76227 and the Curt # C13410 I recommend going with the Curt for your 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon because we have found that they tend to have stronger welds and a thicker powder coat to help make them last longer. It used to be that Curt had a note on a lot of their trailer hitches saying...

The Curt hitch receiver item # C13410 and the Draw-Tite hitch receiver item # 76227 are identical hitches in almost every way. They both have the same capacities and installation methods and are hard to identify once they're installed on a Subaru. The only noticeable difference is the extra pieces of steel welded around the drop down for the receiver from the cross tube. These hitches have not been changed since the reviews you read were made. The EcoHitch Trailer Hitch # 306-X7601 and Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 76227 are very good choices for your 2019 Subaru Outback and would be my top options as well. The one thing EcoHitch normally has going for it is that is usually the only option for a hitch with a concealed crosstube.
