Which Hitch is Better for a 2016 Subaru Outback Wagon?

Question:

Hi guys, Im looking for the best hidden hitch for my Subaru and still wonder if the little more money for the Curt model really made the difference and worth it. I know you guys already did this comparision before. I also already read your previous reviews and as you said is really about the power coat difference. I just want to get a quick update for 2022 for both rack. Do they all have the same performace as before? I also want to know if you guys had more expérience from customers or maybe your own team have a long term review about theses racks. I know both brand are good. Does one brand is more heavy duty construction as they are both mention made in USA? Thanks guys for your time! Cheers!!

The Curt hitch receiver item # C13410 and the Draw-Tite hitch receiver item # 76227 are identical hitches in almost every way. They both have the same capacities and installation methods and are hard to identify once they're installed on a Subaru. The only noticeable difference is the extra pieces of steel welded around the drop down for the receiver from the cross tube. These hitches have not been changed since the reviews you read were made. I recommend going with the Draw-Tite item # 76227 because it has that more fortified support welded onto the receiver. I have linked an installation video below.

If you are in need of a wiring harness to control your trailer or accessories lighting functions I recommend the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector item # HM11143865.

To round out your towing setup I recommend the Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2" Hitches item # C45534. This towing kit will provide you with a 2" ball and a fixed ball mount with a 3/4" rise and 2" drop. It also includes a hitch pin and clip, hitch receiver lock with keys, hitch cover, and a storage case.
