This Curt trailer hitch gives you a strong, versatile connection for towing and carrying gear. With a Class III rating, it’s built to handle up to 3,500 lbs of gross trailer weight and 350 lbs of tongue weight. When used with weight distribution, the ratings increase to 5,000 lbs GTW and 500 lbs TW. The 2" x 2" receiver opening works with common accessories like bike racks, cargo carriers, and ball mounts, so you can set it up for just about any type of travel or work use.
This hitch is made from fully welded, square-tube steel for solid strength and stability. It’s finished with a gloss black powder coat over a protective base layer that helps resist rust and corrosion. The durable surface stays looking good even after years of exposure to road grime and weather. Precision robotic welding keeps everything aligned so it fits right and performs reliably every time you tow or load up.
You don’t need to weld or modify anything to get this hitch installed. It bolts straight to the frame using the included hardware kit and clear instructions. The concealed cross tube keeps things looking tidy underneath the bumper while maintaining good ground clearance. Once installed, you’ve got a clean setup ready for towing small trailers, mounting a bike rack, or adding extra cargo space when you need it most.

This hitch fits great on my 2016 Ford Escape!
The frame tucks under the bumper nicely so support bracket is NOT visible.
I installed the hitch by myself, but, would recommend using a 2nd person
to lift into place. The hitch is very heavy to lift for one person.
The installation video on the etrailer.com website is very helpful too.

I bought and installed a class III Curt hitch for a 2018 Ford Escape. Being the NE winter temps I decided not to tackle the job in my garage, but arranged for my mechanic and I to install the hitch at his shop on his lift. Sure happy with this decision as the install was not quite as simple as showed in the video.
The video was accurate in describing the install process, the hitch fit was good, but attempting the install without a lift is not recommended.
The hitch arrived promptly and the order process was straightforward, however the hitch packaging was torn in seven places and the hitch was hanging out of the box. All parts were present and no damage was done to the hitch.
If the install wasn't so difficult and packaging was not compromised I would have given a 5 star rating.

The hitch after a year is working great. I have noticed the paint has held up well which is another welcome feature. I would buy another hitch from this company without reservations.

Great. Only used hitch a few times to pull trailer
Took this 68 year old guy about 2 hours to install all by myself. I highly recommend having a helper to install as the instructions state. Bolted up perfectly without any modifications. Very satisfied with product and service

The install was not hard. Just take your time and have a friend who is happy to crawl under the opposite side of the back of your rig. Quality is excellent. Don’t have a photo of the hitch but I have one of it in use you can kinda see the hitch

I installed this receiver by myself witch was difficult and awkward.
Video said it will take two people and they were right. I still got it done and turned out perfect, it took me 2 1/2 hours.
Great product excellent installation videos. Went in almost as easy as the video made it seem. Definitely a little on the heavy side to install alone but managed anyway.

Everything I ordered showed up in good condition. Install and videos are spot on. If you are somewhat mechanically inclined you should be able follow along and have success. Definitely need a second hand getting hitch up in place. Oh yeah the items I bought for this install was $6 cheaper than Amazon prime and basically shipped just as fast

Have installed hitches 30 years ago, what a pain they where. This hitch was simple!!! Enjoyed the ease with this curt hitch. I would recommend these hitches to anyone. I am 65 years old, did have my (35year) help side it in. Other than that I did the work myself in the drive way on ramps
Product fit well, definitely need two person for installation ease but doable solo. Maybe 1.5 hrs solo.

It has worked great, does what I bought it for. Well worth the price and great solid quality.
Fit like a glove. The Youtube videos are very helpful. I watched the installation videos of a few models before I decided on the hidden hitch - C13186.
As an added suggestion, my shop cut the muffler pipe then welded it back - it made the installation much easier.
P.S. Please disregard the double copy of one of the photos. The un-named one could not be removed once I uploaded it.
Bought this for my girlfriend's car, was ready to install, but more complicated than I wanted it to be, lol. Took about 90 minutes to install by myself. Love this thing so much I bought one for my son & his girlfriend's jeep, it comes next week. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! If we ever need another hitch, this is where I'm coming back to!
This worked great. Could not have done it without the helpful videos found on the site. I had to use car ramps which made it a bit more challenging to move the hitch in place but other than that, the installation was easy. One thing I found looking around was to use my impact drill/driver and a rasp bit to grind down the opening to get the bolts in. Speaking of bolts, make sure you thread those on the fish leads. Almost lost one in the frame to being lazy. Don't let that be you. Install took an hour for me with it being a little tricky to get the bolt nuts on and making sure everything was just right.
The pics are after our first road trip. I should have done this a long time ago.
So far so good. Installation was a little tough without a lift but manageable. People should be sure to have a helper when it comes to getting the hitch into place. I added some pictures with a ball attachment added. I haven't installed the trailer wiring kit yet but when I do I will write a review about that. Shipping was quick and the price was great. I'm very pleased with this product, mostly because it feels really solid. It looks like it could handle any trailer I may decide to pull with it. The product arrived promptly and without any damage.
The installation instructions were adequate and I was able to install the hitch myself, although it took a lot of strength and finesse to fit it into place over the top of the muffler. It would be good to have two people. The wires to fish the bolts into place worked brilliantly. That feature saved lots of time and effort.
I like the look of the hitch under the car, since it is very unobtrusive. My Ford Escape has a feature by which you can trip the sensor to open the rear door by putting your foot underneath the bumper. (Great for when your hands are full). Fortunately, this feature still works, even though the hitch sits directly under the sensor.
Although I may use the hitch to pull a small camper in the future, the main reason I installed it was for a bike carrier rack. I love it. See photos.
Best made trailer hitch on the market today, I put this trailer hitch on myself with the video on my iPad (easy step by step instructions). Took me a couple of hours to install hitch and wiring harness. Loved how it tucked up under my Ford Escape and all you see is the receiver end of the hitch. Use it today to haul a utility trailer and boat to my favourite fishing holes. Best value for a well built hitch. Thanks e-trailers for the speedy shipping (free by the way) and great product. This Hitch is great was a breeze to install with some help from a good friend and there are no complaints here fits just a specified with no issues
I have had this for a year On My 2013 Ford Escape
Use it for taking trash to the Dump, as well as got a nice 5X8 Trailer for hauling my tractor and motorcycles and other things.....Not disappointed

EXCELLENT!! Still loving this hitch, hauling my trailer loaded with everything from A-Z has been well worth the time and effort to install thanks etrailer!!!
Etrailer sent me damaged bolts. I ended up paying more for my micanic to replace them and for the extra time it took as well. I saw the bolts myself and was surprised they made it past quality control. When I contacted etrailer about the issue they did nothing to resolve the issue of them sending me damaged products, just that they would document it. Very disappointed.

I still like the CURT hitch that was installed one year ago.The hitch is barely visible under the car which is great for appearances.I would by another one if I was in the market for a new hitch.
