This fully welded trailer hitch receiver bolts onto your vehicle's frame with no welding required. Powder coated steel is sturdy and corrosion resistant.Fits my 2020 Hybrid Escape and looks nice. Installation was pretty simple, except I needed to enlarge both the hole used to pass bolts through and the elongated holes in the frame rail. I used a Dremel since that's what I had on hand. I wish the holes in the hitch matched the bolt holes in the vehicle and that the bolt heads were modified so there wouldn't be any need for vehicle modification. I feel it's a bit over-built, especially for the hybrid since the OEM hitch has a max tongue load of 350lb and hybrid is rated for a 1500lb trailer. I'll also mention the foot activated liftgate still works. Oh.. and I also wish the bolts were a little bit longer. Some of them just barely peek out the other side of the nut.
Instructions were clear and mounting was moderately easy. The hitch and wiring have performed as expected. We've used the hitch and wiring for our popup camper and it performed admirably. We also use the hitch for our bike carrier. The fit on our Escape is as good as a factory mount. Once again I'm pleased and impressed with Etrailer's products and service.
This hitch receiver is strong, and will most likely last longer than me. However, the square receiver part is tilted slightly to the right. I got it installed by a pro, and it is installed horizontally correctly. I think the welder or a welding machine did not do a very good job. I am concerned that when I install a cargo carrier, the carrier will be tilted also, which my wife and I will not like. I am attaching a picture, and it shows a very slight lilt. That tilt will be amplified with the carrier because it's 5 feet long. I don't want to go through the hassle of getting it removed and returning, so I will keep it.
Very happy with this purchase. Shipment was prompt. The hitch fit my car perfectly. I did not have to enlarge one of the holes in the frame - I was able to use another hole that was already the correct size, so the installation was fast. The hardest part was removing the muffler from the rubber “arms” to make room for the hitch.
Customer service is great! The tow hitch I bought fits a 2020 Ford Escape perfectly, just word of advice it will take longer the 40 minute that described in the instruction. Give yourselves around 4 hours or so, you will definitely need it. Other than that the product looks is great. Haven’t used it yet.
Very solid Hitch. Looks like it is made very well (heavy). Pat C helped me with the order. Installed on a 2020 Ford Escape Sport Hybrid using a small trailer. Hitch fit well, I had to enlarge the front bolt holes.
Keith - 09/15/2021This hitch fit our 2020 Escape Titanium Hybrid perfectly! As a 68 yr old, I was able to install this hitch single-handedly (with the help of a piece of firewood cut to the appropriate length to support the other end of the hitch) in about an 90 minutes while laying on the ground. The online video is very helpful and we'll done! NOTE for you DIY's: I was able to insert the backing plates and the bolts without enlarging the slots on the sides of the frame rails. CAUTION: wear safety goggles to keep the sand and dirt from getting in your eyes while working under the vehicle, you'll be thankful afterwards! I couldn't be happier with my dealings with etrailer or with the quality of this hitch!

Sierra K - 05/04/2022This was added to my wife's 2021 Lincoln Corsair. Unfortunately, a texting jerk in a BMW rear-ended her car at about 40 MPH. At over $40,000 in damage the car was totaled. The hitch Receiver must have done some good because the rear door hatch still opened and closed under it's own power. So I think it did something. Sorry no photos, there all on my wife's phone.
Fit to size on our 2020 Ford Escape. No help, just have the right tools. A one person job but it would go a lot faster with two since the hitch weight can get tired after a while. I used 2 4x4s to support it. The longest part and semi difficult was fishing the plates and bolts through the frame. You definitely need small fingers for this part (I used my wife for this). Great for a small trailer and for towing our bikes.
Hitch came on time well packed black and white photocopied pics no use but the exploded view self explanatory. Have to go do 2020 Escape Hybrid have to lower exhaust down to get the hitch anywhere near fished bolts so at 68 it took best part of 2 hrs but am very happy with finished result looks very neat with receiver showing below rear bumper
Fit was almost exact had to do a little Dremel work on one hole but other than that fits great. Works great! Looks great!

Do not purchase the DrawTite (76424 I believe) hitch for a 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid. Etrailer’s website said it would work and it certainly does not. After more digging and calling Curt directly, I discovered that this fit despite Etrailer’s website saying it wouldn’t. Also, the mounting bolts fit through my frame rail hole without having to enlarge it. Just took some forceful pushes. Other than that, it fit great. You will not have to modify or cut the exhaust heat shield - trust me, I found this out the hard way with the DrawTite hitch instructions telling me to do so only to find out that their hitch was a bust. Now I have half of a heat shield and a quote for $90 from Ford to order a new one. The junkyard search begins - thanks DrawTite. Despite all of this headache, the Curt hitch is perfect. Great build quality, solid paint, and should do everything I need.
Great hitch for the 2021 Ford Escape titanium hybrid. The only thing is it’s not necessarily so easy to install as advertised. Luckily the dealership I bought my car from agreed to install for free because they had to modify the exhaust hanger (bend it a bit) to prevent the hanger from rubbing on the hitch. Not a huge deal, but if we were installing ourselves it would have been an issue.
Very sturdy, quality hitch. Installation much easier than I anticipated. Install video available on etrailer website very helpful.
Easy install for one person and a short transmission Jack. The "fish" lines worked incredibly well. No grinding needed to get bolts into the frame. I did have to grind 1/16 off the bolt closest to the exhaust mounts as they protruded over the hitch against the exhaust bracket. Took all of 10 minutes with a dremmel and carbide cutter. Took less than 1.5 hours in my driveway.
Install only took about 30 minutes with the help of my son. Highly recommend this product and the fit and finish.
The customer service at eTrailer is amazing! This American-made hitch was out of stock, and I decided I wanted to wait for it to come back in stock as opposed to purchasing the non-American competitor's hitch. The cost went up a little bit once it came back in stock, but eTrailer credited me the price difference. It also arrived quickly after it was shipped - only took a few days! It also came back into stock several weeks earlier than what was anticipated. Happy to say I am getting my new hitch installed this weekend and can't wait to put my bike rack on it for the season :)
Installed in 30min. Super easy. Instructions say to make a hole bigger but it’s not needed, you can feel the bolts in threads first(while on the fish line) into the oval hole on the outside of the frame rail.
Bolted on beautifully to our 2020 Ford Escape. It's tucked up tight underneath with only the 2X2 receiver and chain loops exposed discretely under the bumper. You do need to enlarge one hole on each side of the vehicle frame to pass the bolts through but that's normal and expected. I recommend a carbide reamer for this. All the instructions were clear and accurate.

The mounting hole layout on my class III Hitch was exact! No unnecessary filing or drilling.The suggested installation worked perfectly. I'd recommend this Hitch for any Escape, it was well designed
