with these fittings and transmission oil cooler on my 2000 Ford F350 superduty powerstroke diesel has lowered my temps by 15 degrees.
Thanks

I have a 99 Ford F250 4WD 7.3 diesel with 191,000 miles. I am on my 4th transmission. I pull a horse trailer once a year to Colorado or Wyoming from E Texas on an elk hunt. Other than that, maybe a camper or horse trailer hauled to my deer lease 100 miles away. I finally added a temp gauge to the last one. Now I was seeing that my tranny was running around 205 just pulling my trailers up a small grade around my county. Outside temp around 90. I replaced the original Ford cooler with one from Ford. Same results. I did research on my own and stumbled on to Etrailer.com and articles of the Derale 8000. I had this put on by my radiator man. He wanted to mount it above the Ford cooler to get max airflow. He had to fabricate some brackets and use some other hose connectors as the ones furnished didn't fit right. Not a problem for me as this thing has finally solved my problems. I ran the same route with my horses loaded in the trailer(est 6000# total wt). The temp gauge registered 170 to 175. That is a drop of 30 to 35 degrees. I now feel confident when I go to Colorado in a few weeks that I won't be broke down on side of road with overheated tranny and buying another tranny when I return. Etrailer shipped product very fast. I am overly happy regardless of it not just fitting perfect.

I installed the Derale D13503 in series with my existing factory installed auxillary cooler for added protection on my Ford Explorer Sport Trac. With the Sport Trac tranny having the reputation for overheating failure, I took the cooling up a notch! I tow a 7X14 enclosed v-nosed trailer, and now I am protected! It was a very easy install, and the included hardware made it pain-free :-)

As a returning coustomer I can say all my dealings with atrailer have been great.
Great product, price, shipping and the very best coustomer service.
Product fit perfect and preformed as expected.
Will be back in the future when I need products etrailer sells
Thanks

Great product at a good price , makes adding a trans cooler easy.

Does not work on 99 F250 7.3L. The flare sides of the fittings are to long and deep to use with the existing cooler and fittings.

  • Can 2001 Ford F150 Tow a 1997 Prowler TT Weighing 6200 lbs
Determining the maximum towing capacity of a given truck without knowing exactly how the truck is equipped is pretty difficult. I've researched the issue, and found that the tow rating varies according to the rear axle ratio, and whether the vehicle is a 4x2 or 4x4. In my research I found that at the worst case scenario, your truck should be able to tow at least 7300 lbs. I'd recommend you confirm this for yourself by checking the owner's manual or with Ford. There's another way to determine...

  • Special Fitting Needed to Install Supplemental Transmission Cooler on a 2011 Lincoln Navigator
You are correct. Fitting # D13025 threads into the radiator on your 2011 Lincoln Navigator so you will not have to cut or flare the metal lines to install a supplemental cooler. A cooler such as # D13503 includes the hose, clamps, and hardware to mount it so the fitting # D13025 is the only other part you'd need. They are the appropriate size to match the lines to/from the transmission. The fluid will flow from the transmission, into the stock cooler located inside the radiator, then...

  • Automatic Transmission Cooler and Fittings for a 2006 Ford F-150
For transmission cooler fittings the 6 or 10AN you see listed on coolers such as # D52506 does not make a whole lot of difference because you would want to look at complete cooler kits rather than just a replacement core. The fittings included with the cooler are already a match for it and for the hose that comes with the kits. I recommend cooler kit # D13504. It comes with a large plate-fin cooler, the means to mount it, some hose, and hose clamps. In order to install the cooler without...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 2003 Ford F-150 with 5.4 liter V8
Yes we have transmission coolers that will work great installed on your 2003 Ford F-150 with a 5.4 liter V8 engine like the larger and very efficient Derale # D13504 that requires the adapters # D13024 and # D13025.

  • Hose Size and Fittings to Install a Transmission Cooler on a 2010 Ford F-150 4.6 Liter
The type of fitting to use will depend on the thread type used on the transmission line fittings on your 2010 Ford F-150. If they are 1/2"-20 threads use kit # D13024. If they are 5/8"-18 use # D13025. If you can measure the diameter of the threaded part of a fitting on your truck that will tell us which one is correct. If you are getting a kit such as # D13504 then the proper size hose is included. The standard hose is 11/32 inches inner diameter.

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 2004 Ford F-150 Towing in Mountains
Do you mean 4 wheel low 1 or low 2 gearing for your truck? You should keep the truck in 2 wheel drive when towing if you are on dry pavement. Putting the vehicle into 4 wheel drive will cause damage if you are on dry pavement. It would be a really smart idea to install a transmission cooler on your truck if you haven't installed one already. For that I recommend the Derale part # D13503 which is larger and very efficient. You'll also want the fittings part # D13024 and # D13025 to make...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2005 Ford Explorer 4.0L
First, adding a transmission cooler will not increase the towing capacity of a vehicle unless the manufacturer states that by adding one the towing capacity can be maximized. According to the owners manual, if you have the towing package with 3.73 LS rear axle ratio, you can tow up to 5,760 pounds. With 3.55 rear axle ratio the max is 3,240 pounds. If your model has the higher rear axle ratio and came with a tow package, you can tow up to 5,760 pounds. A transmission cooler is recommended....

  • DIY Installation of Transmission Cooler for 2006 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty
Yes, the transmission cooler is a fairly easy-do- it-yourself installation. For your 2006 Ford F-250 or F-350 with a 5.4 liter engine, you can purchase the Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings, # D13025 to ease installation. This way you can avoid cutting the original transmission line and flaring the cut ends. For an at-home installation I would allow 2-1/2 to 3 hours or more for the installation. Before ordering you should measure the available space in front of your radiator or air conditioning...

  • Transmission Cooler for 2000 Ford F-250 Towing Heavy 5th Wheel Trailer
Any fluid leaking from a vehicle is a warning. Often this indicates excessive temperatures in your transmission. If your transmission is stressed to the point of leaking fluid this means that somewhere either a seal, hose or other fitting is being pushed past its limit. My first suggestion is that you try to find that leakage point so you can check whether you have a bad seal or fitting that can be replaced. Driving your truck, let alone towing a trailer with it, with an inadequate trans...

  • Radiator Adapter Fitting Needed for a 1997 Ford Expedition
Here at etrailer.com we have two different radiator adapter fittings for the 1997 Ford Expedition. The adapter that you need will depend on the size of the transmission line on your Expedition. This Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for Ford, Lincoln and Mercury, # D13025, the male threaded end of the fitting goes into your vehicle's radiator and is a thread perfect fit so there is no leaking. • Recommended Towing Products To Allow 2000 Ford F-150 To Safely Tow 3000-4000lb Boat Trailer
I would be happy to help, but there are a few items you listed that are not commonly used on a boat trailer. Typically boat trailers do not use electric trailer brakes thus eliminating the need for a trailer brake controller or controller wiring harness. Boat trailers more commonly use surge brakes which are hydraulic and use a surge brake coupler to control the braking force. Some surge brake actuators use an electric reverse lockout solenoid, so if the boat trailer you purchase has one...

The great thing about the Derale remote transmission cooler # D13950 is that you can mount it where ever you have space. Since it has its own fan it does not have to be placed out in front of the motor.
