Features to know about

Effortless Installation Every Time: Custom Fit Connector

Experience the ease of setting up your trailer wiring with the T-One Custom Fit Connector. Specifically designed to plug directly into your vehicle's existing tow package, this means absolutely no cutting, splicing, or tapping into your vehicle’s wiring—it’s truly plug-and-play simplicity. Just locate the connection point behind the rear tire and plug in the T-connector in minutes.

Stay Covered in Every Scenario: 7-Way Trailer Connector

Need versatility for different towing scenarios? This 7-way, RV-style trailer connector has you covered. It ensures you have all your trailer’s signal lights operational and is compatible with 4-pole, 5-pole, and 6-pole adapters, which are sold separately. This setup keeps your trailer ready for whatever situation you find yourself in.

Built to Last: 16-Gauge Bonded Wire

When trusting equipment with the safety of your trailer, durability matters. This wiring harness is constructed with 16-gauge bonded wire, which adds an extra layer of robustness and reliability—no need to worry about wear and tear from regular use.

Hassle-Free Maintenance: Corrosion Prevention

Electrical connections can corrode over time, especially in harsh weather conditions. Combat this common issue by using a bit of grease on all connections—the car's plug and the 7-way connector—to extend the life of your setup and ensure a reliable connection every time.

Flexible Compatibility: Works With Your Vehicle, With or Without Tow Package

Worried about whether your vehicle came with a tow package? No problem. The Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector fits seamlessly, regardless of whether the factory installed a hitch. You have the flexibility to add this crucial towing feature with the confidence it’ll work with your existing setup.

Stress-Free Guidance: Detailed Installation Instructions

Forget spending hours figuring out how to get things connected. With clear instructions included, and even supportive videos available, installing this harness on your own becomes remarkably straightforward. Enjoy peace of mind knowing you'll achieve a professional setup without any headache.

I have purchased from you many times over many years. I have retired from the automotive business and had purchased for myself and for my customers. Now, it's just me and my family. Your prices and service and product availability have always been great.

Attached easily to existing wiring on my 2015 Ford Explorer. Only problem I had was it did not come with a plate to attach the plug to the tow hitch so that was disappointing. Had to make my own, lucky I had a plate from an old set-up that I configured for my use.

2018 Ford Explorer Limited. This item needs to include the mounting bracket. I had to shop around for one to finish my project. The instructions were also not clear for my vehicle. There were two sets of wires where it showed one. I took a gamble and choose one. It was more time consuming than expected. The 1 day shipping was also not one day. It took longer than expected to receive it. Otherwise, it works.

Just what I needed to replace my damaged wiring harness. This one is made 10 times better than what the dealership had originally "hacked job" installed... only thing left to do is add the electric brake controller. But glad my wife's explorer is back to working with a trailer attached. Thanks again etrailer for the grrat product and for answering my questions.

Been great, have no problems but have only used the trailer hookup a couple of times. But still satisfied with your product.

The light kit does not contain the connector mounting bracket. The bracket is shown in the photos of the kit. The kit description does not say the bracket is not included. I am unable to complete my install with out the bracket

The harness comes with the trailer end wires taped together to allow easy routing to the hitch. The issue is no tape was used to insulate the wires from each other. This resulted in multiple blown fuses when i connected the harness to the car. Some additional tape or a warning to not plug in to the car harness until the trailer plug is connected would have avoided the problem

Connected perfectly.

Very good and easy to install

Wiring harness was a little involved but it was due to Explorer having custom hitch mounted. Overall it did not take long and I am still very happy with my purchase, works great!

Everything is going fine so far I installed the hitch, T-harness and 7 way plug on my 2019 ford explorer but now I need to find out what relays and fuses I need to install in the vehicle. Do you have a KIT with instructions and maybe a brake controller? Please

According to the Ford website, you will need a 30 amp fuse in location 27 and a relay in location 37. The M-case fuse is available from an auto parts store, but you might need to see the dealer for the necessary relay. To activate power to the brake controller plug under the dash, check location 46 for a 30A J-case fuse and install one if its missing. In the fuse panel in the passenger compartment, make sure theres a 5A fuse installed in location 4. This panel is located under the dash to the left of the steering column. I recommend the Tekonsha P3 brake controller part # 90195 and the adapter for Ford Explorer part # 3035-P. The P3 is our most popular and reliable brake controller.

Hitch went in without a hitch. The wiring harness routing per the video became a problem and had to come up with another route, otherwise it was very good.

First wiring harness sent was not correct. This item was recommended by etrailer employee. Telephone call with another employee straightened it out and return was easy. The hitch looks nice, except the screws on the bracket (4) have all rusted and look bad. My vehicle is a Ford Explorer XLT. When it's all washed and waxed it looks great till my eye sees those 4 little screws. You've reminded me how much it bothers me so I will get some quality black screws to replace. I am subtracting a star for the incorrect info I initially received and one for the cheap rusty screws.

This is one of many products I have purchased from etrailer.com the past several years. The wiring kits and hitches that I have purchased have all been accurately described and received quickly. etrailer.com is my "go to" distributor for hitches and wiring kits.

by:

The hitch was very easy to install once the brackets holding the mufflers were removed, a second person to help in holding the hitch when installing it is a big help. The “T” wiring harness was also easy to install, highly recommend using some sort of electrical tape to help seal the two connection pints from water / snow. The 7 pin / 4 straight adaptor is exactly what I needed, different trailers, different plug types.

by:

The wiring harness (pn 118272) fit perfectly, no problem. A little daunting to get the factory connectors apart but after that, simple
The hitch (pn 76034) fit like a dream. HOWEVER, I had to make a trip to get replacements for the 7/16 x 2.5 carriage bolts -- could not in any way tighten the nylon lock nut because the stove bolt shank could not be held in the slot. The replacements were 12mm x 60mm carriage bolts. Draw-tite should change their hardware. Also, the bolts provided to attach the hitch to the car frame were standard zinc coated -- the factory bolts I removed were galvanized. Again, Draw-tIte should change their hardware
The trailer socket with mounting bracket (pn HM40975) just plain will not fit on my car unless I mount it below the receiver (not a good idea). Not sure what I'm going to do yet but may have to fabricate something.
Overall, great product but be prepared to use other than the hardware provided by Draw-Tite.

I own a 2012 Ford Explorer Limited. This SUV was missing the wiring harness for the 7 way trailer plug. It also has the 4 rear proximity sensors for rear parking.

This is the correct harness (118272) for my Explorer. Everything plugs in directly and has the correct plug for the Proximity Sensors. One thing you will have to do is connect each wire into the back of the 7 way. Directions and wire colors are correct. The wire ends will snap into the back of the 7 way. They only go in one way, so make sure you have the wire ends oriented the correct way, don't force anything. I tested the 7 way and the proximity sensors and everything is correct.

The only issue is, this does not come with the 4 way connector. Which I don't need. If I ever do, I will just tap into the current harness and purchase the OEM 4 way Ford connector.

by:
2017 FordExplorer

I ordered this harness for a 2017 Ford Explorer without the tow package. The install was quick and easy. I have backup sensors, so there was an existing factory harness connection. I was worried that I would be missing the power for my brake controller and for the 12v trailer battery.
My truck had a brake controller port beside the steering column. I verified that all the fuses and relays were in the fuse box. Since I don't have a trailer yet, I tested with a light probe and a multimeter.
Using the probe, I was able to determine that all of the wiring was there. To test the brake controller function, I set the boost level on my brake controller and meassured the blue wire while activating the manual override. I adjusted the boost voltage and measured the voltage 2 more times to verify proper operation of the brake controller.
I am confident that this harness will function when I pick up my trailer.

After having an awful experience with a large chain camping store with the installation of the wiring on my vehicle. I was able to undo all the damage they did and use item #118272 to wire up my vehicle with a 7 point plug. It took me about 10 mins to wire the adapter in, while it took the company over 8 hours to cut into my wires (with only turn signals working) instead of using this adapter. Everything worked with no issues and was easy to install as the provided video described.

by:

No trouble with installation and wiring was almost as easy. I would get another hitch here in a heartbeat.

by:

Complete wiring for trailer hook up, plug and play, easiest was to wire up a vehicle to tow a trailer. No damage or cutting of factory wiring and easy to remove if you want to put on another vehicle.

Normally I dont take the time to write a review, if I'm happy I keep the product, if not I return it. This is one of the few times I dont mind writing a review. Took me 10 minutes to install. The directions are clear and easy to follow. I reviewed the video after I finished and it's not really necessary, maybe a better explanation of wire routing and secuing.
2 suggestions I would like to make. First is include the mounting bracket with the harness. I made my own on the fly, but not everyone will have time or ability to do that. Secondly team up with another company to sell a "new installation kit" I bought the Reese Towpower Trailer Hitch 84034 for my explorer and had to find a wiring harness separate. Would have made it alot easier if I found both in one shot.
Total install time was roughly an hour. I installed the trailer hitch first and then worked on the harness. I should have started with the harness so I could easily route the cable, install the hitch then finish on the cable. Live and learn. Hitch was 45 minutes, wiring was 10, and made a bracket in about 2.

Only reason not 5 stars due to initial confusion caused by picture on the product pkg & instructions. Picture shows wire harness with a plug on each end. In fact, one end has 2 plugs installed & the other end is taped off harness w/o a plug. that plug needs to be put together by user & written instructions very minimal. However, true to form, Etailer has an excellent video which cleared this all up. so far works like a charm. Easy install

by:
2018 FordExplorer

Plug-n-play literally. Had an aftermarket hitch installed on my 2018 explorer with a 4 pin connector for a u-haul car hauler. Working on getting my own flatbed car hauler and need the brake controller hookup. Easy instructions - too easy, had to look at it for a minute before realizing how easy it was. Would be better with a mounting bracket but was able to zip tie to the bumper next to the hitch.

Ordered the 7 pin harness for our 2014 Explorer to tow our camper. Was a direct plug and play for our vehicle. No need for splicing. Very happy with this purchase! Took all of about 15-20 minutes to install. Would recommend to anyone.
