Is There a Better Way to Wire Trolling Motor Batteries?

connect-ease standard

This kit replaces stacked ring terminals with quick connects between the batteries and the run to your trolling motor. Instead of multiple leads piled onto each post, the wiring is simplified into clear connection points, making it easier to see what's connected and how everything is routed. With fewer individual connections and no stacked hardware to loosen, the layout is straightforward and more trustworthy than a traditional terminal stack.

Made for Tight Battery Compartments

Battery compartments don't leave much room to work, especially once multiple batteries are involved. With the connectors attached at the batteries first, you're not trying to crimp, stack, and tighten hardware deep inside a cramped space. The wiring goes in with fewer awkward angles and less back-and-forth, so the install stays simple instead of turning into a job where you're fighting tools and clearance the whole time.

I really like how much easier the Connect-Ease makes setting up a trolling motor battery system. On smaller fishing boats, space is tight and battery wiring can get messy fast, and this helps keep everything clean and manageable.

What I appreciate most is how simple it made putting the trolling motor on its own battery bank. Having dedicated batteries means more time out on the water and less worrying about running out of power. Once it’s installed, connecting and disconnecting the batteries is quick and straightforward.

It also makes maintenance easier. When it’s time to charge or remove the batteries, I’m not fighting cables or stacked terminals, everything just unplugs. This is one of those upgrades that makes boating feel easier and less stressful, especially if you spend long days relying on your trolling motor.

  • Can Connect-Ease Quick Connect Kits Be Used On All Battery Setups, Or Just Trolling Motors?
Sam, trolling motors are a big use case, but that’s just one of the popular applications for these battery connect kits. Anywhere you’re tired of loosening battery nuts or messing with clamps, these kits make life easier. I’ve seen them work just as well for chargers, solar inputs, and general accessories. For single-battery setups, the # CE76RR and # CE66RR are especially useful. For multi-battery systems, the 24V (with extra leads) # CE26RR, 24V # CE58RR, and 36V (with extra leads) #...

  • Best Quick Disconnect Kit For 2 12V Batteries In 24V Setup Without Redoing Wires Every Time
Yes sir, that’s exactly what the Connect-Ease Standard Series 24V kit # CE58RR is made for. If you’re running two 12V batteries wired in series to create 24V, this kit replaces the multiple jumpers and ring terminals with a single plug connection. Your batteries stay wired as a proper 24V system, but disconnecting the load or charger becomes quick and tool-free. It’s a simple way to make battery removal, storage, or maintenance much easier without changing how the system works. What are...

  • Quick Disconnect For 24V Trolling Motor So You Don't Have To Remove Nuts On Battery Terminals
Hey Mark! Yeah... that gets old real quick. My brother is currently doing this method on his little boat with 1 battery, and I can imagine it gets a lot more annoying with 2 batteries. If you’re running two 12V batteries in series to make 24V, a Connect-Ease 24V kit is a much cleaner way to handle it. The # CE26RR or # CE58RR lets you replace all those ring terminals and wires with a plug-and-play connection, so disconnecting the trolling motor is just pulling a plug - no tools, no hardware,...

  • Is There A Permanent Disconnect For Battery So I Don't Have To Remove The Battery To Charge It?
Kevin, you’re definitely not alone with that mindset! Luckily, the Connect-Ease kits - from the 12V # CE76RR, up through the 24V # CE26RR and # CE58RR, and the 36V # CE88RR - are designed to eliminate that exact frustration. Once the ring connectors are installed on the batteries studs, the connection stays solid during use but disconnects instantly when you need to pull a battery out or remove the accessory from the battery wiring. That means no loose hardware and no tools needed. It’s...

  • Clean Way To Connect And Disconnect 12V Battery In Off-Grid Solar System Instead Of Alligator Clamps
Hey Laura! Yes, this is a situation where a quick-disconnect works well. For a single 12V battery in an off-grid or solar setup, the Connect-Ease # CE66RR gives you a solid, dedicated connection point instead of relying on alligator clamps that can slip. If your solar setup uses two 12V batteries wired in series for 24V, the # CE58RR is the better fit since it keeps that series wiring intact while still giving you a single plug connection for the charger. Either way, once it’s installed,...

  • Will The Connect-Ease Quick Disconnect Harness Stay Secure While Driving Or Running Equpment?
Nathan, they’re definitely not temporary. Once snapped together, the connectors lock in solid and are designed to handle vibration and movement. That’s one of the reasons they’re popular in boats (trolling motors) that have lots of movement, and other applications as well (golfcarts etc.). They hold up really well. Most older golfcarts actually use this connection as the main charger port, so that design has been around awhile. The big advantage is that they’re secure during use but still...

  • Best Quick Disconnect Plug And Harness For 24V Trolling Motor And Charger With Two 12V Batteries
Good morning Paul! Yes sir, this is exactly what the Connect-Ease 24V kits are meant to fix. If your system uses two 12V batteries wired in series, the # CE26RR Game Changer works good and has additional leads for accessories. Or you can use the # CE58RR Standard Series which gives you a single plug connection without any additional leads. Once installed, you can disconnect the motor or charger without tools, which makes battery removal and storage much easier. If you’re charging often,...

  • Easy Way To Disconnect Trolling Motor From 24V Battery Bank Without Tools Or Hardwiring
Luke, yes - that’s exactly what the Connect-Ease 24V kits are designed for. Both the # CE26RR Game Changer and # CE58RR Standard Series connect two 12V batteries in series and give you a single plug point for the motor. If you’re also charging regularly, the # CE26RR is especially handy since it includes integrated charging leads for each battery, so you’re not disturbing the battery wiring at all. If your charger is just a single 24v output then you wouldn't need to use those additional...

  • Series vs Parallel Batteries When Using a Quick Disconnect For 12V Batteries
Dustin, everything stays configured the same - that’s one of the big advantages here. Your batteries remain wired correctly whether you’re running a 12V, 24V, or 36V setup. You’re just disconnecting the plug between the battery bank and the load or charger, not changing the wiring itself. The connectors are keyed, so they only plug in one way. That means no guesswork when reconnecting and no concern about shorting anything. I really like this setup because you’re not redoing wiring every...

  • Connect-Ease Quick Disconnect Wiring Kit For Battery Maintenance Without Removing Battery Or Nuts
Daniel, absolutely. A lot of people start looking at these because they’re tired of loosening battery terminals or removing the battery for basic maintenance or charging. That’s honestly how I ended up appreciating them myself - just making battery access easier without messing with any tools or wiring. For a single battery, the 12V # CE76RR or 12V/24V/36V # CE66RR works great. For multi-battery setups, the 24V # CE26RR or # CE58RR works great for 2 12V batteries, or the 36V kit # CE88RR...
