When you’re not towing, this setup blends right in. The completely hidden design keeps the front end looking clean with no bulky brackets sticking out, and the removable arms twist out easily when you’re done towing. Snap-in receiver covers keep dirt and debris out, so the next hook-up is smooth and clean.
Hooking up takes just a few seconds. Each arm slides into the receiver, twists to lock, and secures with a pin—no tools or fuss needed. When it’s time to disconnect, pull the pin, rotate the arm, and lift it free. The simple twist-lock system makes solo hookups easy whether you’re in your driveway or at the campground.
This base plate bolts directly to the chassis—no welding required—and its sturdy steel design spreads towing forces evenly across the frame. That helps protect your suspension and keeps your setup solid mile after mile. The powder-coated finish resists rust and corrosion so you can count on it over the long haul.
Already have a tow bar setup you like? This kit pairs directly with Blue Ox tow bars for a secure connection. It’s also adaptable for use with Roadmaster (adapter RM-031 or RM-031-5) or Demco (adapter DM9523041) tow bars, all sold separately. Integrated mounting points make it easy to add a bracket for your electrical plug to keep wiring neat and secure up front.
You can tackle this one at home without special tools or welding gear. The base plate bolts securely to the chassis using the included hardware and lines up cleanly for a straightforward install. With bracket spacing of 24" and a bracket height of 13-1/2", it’s easy to plan your setup around your tow bar height for a reliable, level connection every time.

Works great for me...I only flat tow. Was a bit hard to install, however, if you can cut some frame, walk in the park. 3-4 hour job.....

After a year and @ 4000 miles, still five stars.
Blue Ox base plate kit fit my 2015 Kia Soul perfectly. Installed it in about 8 hours. Ordering was easy, but shipping took a bit longer than I expected. (Almost 5 weeks) I would have given it a 5 star.

I purchased the Blue Ox tow plate and tow bar....a friend installed the tow plate and said he was impressed. I used it twice now and seems to work great and no issues. Nice one man operation. The light kit had no instructions for the KIA Soul that I purchased it for so I sent that back. I'm not sure why it stated it was for it and had instructions or call an 800 number neither of which were correct. I like the removable tubes. I wish the tow bar had come with a cover. I've seen some covered and it looks like it protects the bat while still attached to the tow vehicle.

The Blue Ox base plate for my 2015 Kia Soul is well manufactured and, with a little bit of mechanical skill, easy to install. It fit perfectly without issues.
