Question:

i presently tow a 2000 jeep wrangler with a blue ox setup. i plug a electrical plug into the front of the jeep and into one on my fleetwood 36D 2005 motorhome. i am about to trade the jeep wrangler for a 2015 kia soul. all literature and sales people assure me the soul can be towed. i have checked out your tow plate for the soul. it appears my blue ox towing arms on my motorhome will attach to the blue oxplate on the soul. i am about to order your plate for the soul. what else will i need?. do i need your wiring harness? i would like to be able to plug into the front of the plate and not use rear separate lights on the soul. please list what i should order from you.

For your 2015 Kia Soul the Blue Ox Base Plate kit part # BX2726 would be the correct base plate kit to use.

For lighting you can use the bulb and socket kit, # RM-155, and not have to worry about cutting and splicing into the vehicle wiring.

And finally, most states now require supplemental braking in the vehicle being flat towed. The easiest system to set up and use is the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR, that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the two vehicle is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.
