Can I flat tow my 2014 Kia Soul behind my motor home and what equipment do I need?

You will want to consult the owners manual for your 2014 Kia Soul to determine if your specific model can be flat towed behind a motor home.

There are 5 items that you will need to flat tow your 2014 Kia Soul: base plates, tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking. For base plates you can use # BX2726. For a compatible tow bar the Alpha is a popular option, # BX7380. It includes safety cables.

You can also use the Adventurer, # BX7322, for a more economical option. It does not come with safety cables so you would have to add some, # BX88196.

For lighting you could use a simple magnetic light lit such as # RM-2120. But if you are looking for a more permanent option I recommend 6-diode kit # 154-792-118158.

And finally, most states now require supplemental braking on the vehicle being flat towed. One of the easiest systems to set up and use is the patriot proportional system # BLU37TR. It will apply the Kia brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. This is the easiest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.
