Getting the right height makes all the difference between a smooth tow and one that feels off balance. This ball mount gives you both a 1" rise and a 2-3/8" drop, so you can line up your trailer level with your tow vehicle. A level setup cuts down on sway and uneven loading, helping everything track straight and steady on the road.
Sometimes you need a little extra clearance behind your bumper or accessories. The dual-length design on this mount measures 7-1/2" or 10-1/2" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole, depending on which pin hole you use. That lets you fine-tune how far the trailer sits from the back of your vehicle without needing a different mount.
When you’re towing heavy gear, strength matters more than anything. This fixed ball mount is rated for a 7,500 lbs gross towing weight and 750 lbs tongue weight, giving it the muscle to haul most medium-sized trailers confidently. The sturdy steel construction keeps it solid under load, so you can focus on driving instead of worrying about your hitch setup.
Rain, salt, and grime can take a toll on any towing gear, but this mount’s high-gloss black powder coat helps it hold up over time. The finish resists corrosion and keeps it looking clean after plenty of use. Whether it’s left in all season or used occasionally, it’s built to stay strong and reliable trip after trip.
No complicated adjustments or moving parts here—just slide the shank into your 2" hitch receiver, line up the pin hole, secure it with your own hitch pin and clip or lock, and you’re ready to tow. The fixed design keeps things quiet and steady mile after mile without extra hardware to worry about.

What's up everybody Adam, here with etrailer. Let's take a look at this Curt ball mount. So, this ball mount is gonna give us a drop of about 2 3/8". And it's gonna give us a rise of 1". Does not come with the ball, so just grab whatever size you need, just to make sure it can fit through a hole with a diameter of 1". We have a lot of them, so grab the appropriate one.
It's gonna give us a gross trailer weight capacity of 7,500 pounds, and a tongue weight of 750 pounds. The nice thing about this one is we have two different holes. So one, the one from the back, from the center of this, to the center of our ball is gonna be about 10 1/2". But when we take this out, we can kind of push it up a little bit. But if you have a spare tire, like I do, we're not really gonna get it all the way to there.
So, we're gonna have options. But if you do use that other hole, it's gonna be about 7 1/2 from the center of that hole to the center of our ball. So you can keep it real close to your vehicle, or leave it out. I like having the option, I think that's really nice. Another thing that's nice about this, we have a hollow shank.
So with hollow shanks, we can put an anti-rattle device on the inside. We're gonna have to buy a hitch pin and clip anyway. So might as well just get the kit that comes with the anti-rattle device, because whenever I'm mowing trailers and stuff, it's usually hot outside, and the window's rolled down, and I can really hear this play. So with the anti-rattle device, we're not gonna have to worry about it. So might as well just grab one, and it's a little bit of cost that'll just save you a lot of headache whenever you're going down the road, and all of your components aren't gonna feel it either.
So definitely recommend doing that, and might as well grab a lock port too, because you saw how quick it was, maybe a couple seconds. And someone can steal your ball mount. So I've had one for a very, very long time and it gets the job done. So if you did want to kind of upgrade, since this is kind of the entry level ball mount, I would recommend just kind of grabbing a shock absorbing ball mount. The Gen-Y Glyder is a good one, just because when you use them, you're gonna use them for a long time. Might as well spend the extra money to get a little bit smoother of a ride. But if you're just hauling some standard trailers, no heavy duty stuff, and you're not really looking for anything special, this is gonna be a great option for you. It's made of steel, powder-coated finish and that's basically it. There isn't a whole lot when it comes to ball mounts. This comes down to the rise, or the drop. And just if the ball that you want is gonna fit in there. So, just take all that into consideration, but that's basically it for our look at the Curt ball mount..

Nice hitch, the extra length is great for towing my trailer
Did my research for ball height and this ball mount fit the bill.
this hitch works great, don't have to worry about denting my tailgate!
Very pleased with this product, and extremely pleased with the great services that etrailer provides, items arrive timely and are priced reasonably.
Want to thank you for a great product. I needed a product with a longer shank and the two hole shank is a bonus, this is on the back of a Ford F-150 that pulls a boat or Harley trailer. Thanks again
This is exactly what I needed for the hitch on my Grand Caravan. The hitch on the vehicle is set back and this extended length ball mount keeps the trailer tongue away from the van's plastic fascia.
This product served me very well. I wanted a longer fit in my receiver than the one I had. This worked great on the inside hole. I did have a problem with the hitch hitting my spare tire at this location which required me to cut about 3/4" off of the back side of the hitch.
Fast response and exactly the part I was looking for.
Arrived quickly, the mount is well made and works perfectly. I pull my small fishing boat with a 2018 Jeep JK, and the tongue latch would get stuck under the spare tire and it was eventually going to cut the tire, so I needed to move the ball away from the tire by 2” or so. This mount does exactly that.
Fast shipping great quality product.
