Very well made, corrosion resistant, light and strong. This draw bar also looks great on my Tacoma. It would be better if the weight rating was stamped into the metal rather than using an afixed label.

It has been great to not have to worry about rust from my draw bar. No complaints about durability and performance.

A good ball mount that looks great on my truck!

by:

Excellent design, well made. I love the fact that it is made out of aluminum. It is very light. The capacity is comparable to forged steel.

by:

Great drop hitch! Still looks like new. The sticker stained it a bit for some weird reason. With all aluminum hitches, always use a stainless steel pin or periodically remove the pin to clean and lightly grease it. The two different metals will galvanically corrode.

by:

GOOD Design: Clean, Non Corrosive, Positions Trailer (Cl I & II) frame height VERY close to level on '22 Pathfinder. Coupling distance to bumpercover is perfect. Nice Product

by:

Rust Free!

by:

It is what is advertised, It is lighter in weight than it’s steel counterpart. Seems like a good product, I’ll let you know if my boat passes my truck one day....

  • Shortest Available 2-Inch Ball Mount
You can see all fixed 2-inch ball mounts by clicking on the linked page. The shortest of these is the Curt Ball Mount # C74WR. This aluminum ball mount measures 8-1/2-inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole. It offers either 2-inches of drop or 1-inch of rise. Tow rating is 8K and tongue weight is rated at 800-lbs. A video is linked for you.

  • What Does Aluminum Curt Ball Mount # C74WR Weigh
The Curt ball mount part # C74WR weighs 4 lbs. There isn't an aluminum ball mount option that has a sway bar bracket. The closest option we have that has the sway control tab is the Curt # D320 which is steel. It weighs 7 lbs.

  • Ball Mount with 2 inch Drop that Can Fit Shallow Hitch Pin Trailer Hitch
We have a ball mount with a short enough distance from end of ball mount to pin hole diameter with 2 inches of drop with the Curt part # C74WR but the Curt # C45034 you mentioned has this dimension at 2-1/2 inches.

  • How to Determine the Correct Trailer Ball Mount and Measuring For Rise and/or Drop
Most light duty trailers have a 17 inch coupler height, give or take an inch. Using the ballmount help page you were looking at, measure your hitch height on your truck and select a ball mount with the proper rise or drop to get you to 17 inches. The hitch on my Escape is 19 inches from the ground to the inside top edge of the hitch. So to get to 17 inches I would use a 2 inch drop ball mount like part # C45010 or part # C74WR or even the # WSFH2-2 with a built-in scale. I have included...

  • Corrosion Resistant 2 Inch Hitch Ball and Lock for Curt Aluminum Ball Mount With 2 Inch Drop
There are a couple of really good options for a 2" hitch ball and hitch lock to resist corrosion with the 8,000 lb capacity Andersen Alumistinger Ball Mount for 2" Hitch - 1" Rise, 2" Drop # AM3503. For a hitch ball you can't go wrong with stainless steel to resist corrosion so the best option is the stainless 2" Hitch Ball # SC23-C. Then for a stainless steel hitch lock I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # C23519. I have added links to video reviews for you to check out...

  • Is Aluminum Ball Mount Compatible With Stainless Steel Hitch Ball For 2 Inch Hitch
Yes, you can absolutely use an aluminum ball mount with a stainless steel hitch ball without worry of the ball mount corroding. In fact, there are no aluminum hitch balls so manufacturers suggest the use of stainless steel as it is going to be the best option work in conjunction with an aluminum ball mount. So what you will need depends on the rise or drop your trailer requires: - 1" Rise, 2" Drop: Curt Ball Mount for 2" Hitches # C74WR - 3" Rise, 4" Drop: Curt Ball Mount for 2" Hitches...

  • Ball Mount For 2 Inch Hitch w/ Mount Not Welded On & Minimal Rise/Drop For Curt RockerBall
We can come close to what you are wanting, but the only ball mounts with a true zero rise or drop do already have the hitch balls on, like the Curt Solid 2-Ball Mount # C45665. Otherwise, since you don't want the platform welded on, you'll need to go with a single-piece aluminum ball mount, and there is one that is rated for 8,000 lbs towing, fits a 2" hitch (or receiver bar), and has a 1" hole for the Curt RockerBall Shock Absorbing 2" Hitch Ball # C40047. It does have a 1" rise/2" drop,...

  • Which Wiring Harness, Ball Mount, Hitch Ball and Lock Should be Used for Salt Water Towing
For a 2010 Honda Pilot, you would use T-One Wiring harness, part # 118491. There is no cutting or splicing involved, it just connects to the factory tail light connectors. With exposure to salt-water, I would stick with aluminum or stainless steel for your other products as they will hold up the best. I assume you have a 2 inch hitch receiver, so I would use part # e98882. It is a stainless steel hitch lock with a limited lifetime warranty. The drawbar and ball you need will depend on...

  • Adjustable Ball Mount For a 50MM Hitch Ball That Fits a 2" Receiver
Since you are looking to have different positions in which you can adjust the hitch height you will want to use a Shank for Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount # 325-GH-305 to fit the 2" x 2"(51mm x 51mm) receiver. The mount has 5 receiver tubes that are spaced apart for up to a 10" (25.4cm) drop and is rated for up to 10,000lbs(4535kg). A Curt Ball Mount # C74WR will slide into the 5 receivers in either the 1"(2.54cm) rise or 2"(5.08cm) Drop position. The ball mount is rated for 8,000lbs(3629kg)....

  • Short Ball Mount Recommendation for a 2013 Volkswagen Touareg
Having a ball mount that is longer should not be an issue. It actually can provide more clearance when turning. The standard for a 2 inch ball mount is around 8 to 8-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole. We currently offer several aluminum ball mounts for 2 inch hitches that have a 2 inch drop. Curt, # C74WR Brophy, # EA20 Fulton # F97CR

  • What Parts Do I Need To Install A Curt Trailer Hitch and Wiring On My 2011 Ford Flex?
All the parts you need to install the hitch is included with the Curt Hitch receiver # 13551. This hitch receiver is for a Ford Flex with dual exhaust. You will need the Curt T-Connector Wiring Harness to allow you to hook up to your camper. The wiring that I recommend for your 2011 Ford Flex is # C55774. This gives you the option of using either a 4-pole connector or a 7-Pole connector. You also need a ball mount like # C74WR for an 8000-lb capacity or the # WSFH2-2 for a 10,000-lb capacity...

  • What Rooftop Tent Solution do You Recommend for My 2012 Honda Pilot?
I have a tent solution for you. I researched all of our available roof racks for mounting on a bare-roof 2012 Honda Pilot, and unfortunately all of our available roof racks have very limited weight capacity due to the clip/clamp-on style. For a roof top tent, it is strongly recommended to either mount crossbars on flush or raised factory rails. This is because the weight capacity of these attachment styles are higher and can accommodate a safe amount of static weight capacity needed to...

  • Is The Fulton 2 Drop Aluminum Ball Mount Made In The USA?

The Fulton # F97CR you found as well as the similar Curt # C74WR and Brophy # EA20 aluminum ball mounts are all made overseas. If you do not want an adjustable mount we do have the Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount # AMSC2HD which is made in the USA. While not being an aluminum ball mount it does have the benefit of a built...

  • How Can I Transport My 320 Sport Bike on My 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe?
I have a way for you to safely transport your dual sport bike on your vehicle. I went ahead and looked up the specs for your 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe, and it has a maximum gross towing weight capacity of 2,800 pounds. If this is the case, the maximum tongue weight capacity of your vehicle is 280 pounds. With this tongue weight capacity, you cannot safely mount via a hitch carrier that requires tongue weight. This is because no matter what hitch you use, your sport bike exceeds that 280 tongue...
