Install your electric trailer brake controller quickly and easily with this custom wiring adapter. Simply plug one end of the adapter into your brake controller and then plug the other end into the built-in port in your vehicle.
Features:
This adapter plugs into the 5-pin connector on your vehicle's built-in brake control wiring harness. The harness is located underneath the dash, to the left of the steering column, taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal.
To install your electric brake controller you need to connect the wiring of the controller to your vehicle. Certain manufacturers offer pre-wired options, typically known as tow packages, wherein these wires are run for you from the dash to the trailer connector on the back of your vehicle. Often, a brake controller wiring harness is included with your tow package. This harness plugs into a port beneath your dash and connects to the four wires of the brake controller. If, however, you have a brake controller with a plug in place of the four loose wires, you can use the Tekonsha adapter.
This adapter requires no cutting or splicing of wires to install. It is designed to plug directly into your electric brake controller for the simplest installation possible. Because there is no hardwiring, installation is not permanent. You can unplug and remove your brake controller at any time and securely stow it away.

Plugged directly into the connector provide by the tow package on my 2019 4-Runner. Every thing lit up like it suppose to on the trailer break controller.
I haven't used it though I did install it yesterday. It came on line the way it should have. Ask me again in another week or so after I get the chance to test drive.
This was long enough to route across from the emergency brake to the center console. Grounded white wire to a bolt under the dash with a 10mm nut. Easy
After 1 year of flawless use I am very pleased with this wiring harness for my 2016 Toyota 4Runner. The installation was super simple and easy; plug and play. I would definitely purchase again for another vehicle.
Plug and play! I've had the same brake controller on several vehicles...get the correct harnest for your vehicle and easy peezy! Advice: Plan on how you're going to route your wire harnest first before mounting brackets.

Worked exactly as expected. The install took me about an hour total because I needed to remove some trim panels to attach the ground.

The wiring for the Tekonsha proportional brake control fit my 2016 4 Runner perfectly. Plus the videos that etrailer has showing where the plug in is under the dash made finding it a cinch.

The brake controller works very well and is a very good product. Ive been very pleased with it. We went on a long trip from South Carolina to Montana. On the way we stopped by Mount Rushmore. Were going up a steep grade almost 10. Coming down it was nice that I could adjust the controller For more brake power. Thank you so much
I haven't installed anything from my order just yet so i can't comment on the products just yet. I'm sure that these, like the others I've purchased over the years will do the job as advertised. This isn't my first time dealing with etrailer, so I'm not at all concerned with the job before me. Very few companies I've dealt with are as capable and competent as etrailer. Their customer service is second to none. Every employee I've spoken with has been well versed in the products as well as their uses and their installation. I highly recommend. Love these folks.

Plugged in to 2016 4Runner TE and Tekonsha Voyager brake controller. Works great. Easy install. Be sure to connect white ground lug to a good metal grounded location. Simple to install and price is great.

I would highly recommend this brake controller to anyone. Used it many times and is very easy to adjust based on weight of trailer being towed.

Been a year, still working great.
Purchased Brake Controller and Wiring adapter. It was just as easy (or even easier) an installation than described. Dealer wanted about $150 to "wire" my brake installer. I noticed this product on-line and read reviews and decided to see if it really was what it said. It took my son around 10-15 minutes to get it mounted and ground. When plugged into trailer, it worked!!
When contacting Customer Service, I was very impressed.

Good unit, reliable. Display is hard to read and the form factor and mounting location results in a banged Knee from time to time. A longer wire harness would be good enabling a center console mount.
