Hey, everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the west bar jacketed four pole trailer connection. So the one that we have right here is about 14 foot in length, but we're also gonna have a 10 foot, an eight foot and a four foot. It's all gonna have a 14 gauge wire on the inside. And the diameter of this jacket is gonna be about 0.4 of an inch. So now all of these trailer wearings come with jackets.
This is just gonna look a little bit cleaner, but it does have a nice little shape to it. So a little bit bigger down here. So whenever you are pulling it off, one, it gives you plenty of room to be able to wrap around it. And since it's a little bit bigger here, it's gonna be kind of easier to pull it out. If you want the easiest four-pole that is the easiest to disconnect from the other side, the Hopkins has an easy pole, which just has a little circle right here.
And that's probably gonna be the only one that's a little bit easier, but it does not come with this jacket. I really like the jacket just because it's gonna protect it and looks a lot easier. And since we're using a junction box, it makes for a really, really easy and clean connection. So if you follow us down, we basically go on the inside of this tube, all the way to our junction box which is right up here by the trailer. So we're gonna have four different wires that come in here cause it's a four pole.
So if you follow me, we'll so you exactly what it looks like in the junction box, just because I like the junction boxes, they're a little bit cleaner. And if you're adding six accessories and stuff like that, it'll make a nice clean spot to be able to know exactly where everything's going. So we have the jacketed side of our trailer connection going through our junction box and we're gonna have four different wires. So we're gonna have our yellow, which is gonna be our left turn signal and our brake lights. We're gonna have our green is gonna be right.
And our brake lights, we're gonna have white, which is gonna be our ground. And then we're gonna have our brown as well, which is just gonna be your running lights, your taillights and everything else like that, including your license plate lights. So all of these kind of go in here and if you do want to grab a junction box, we do have these here at etrailer. These are just pretty much the cleanest way to wire up your trailer. The only thing that I would add to this is just a little dust cover just because it's gonna be exposed. So if you don't have a great place to put it, I mean, some people just kind of hide it underneath here, but it's not gonna be protected. So there is a dust cover specifically for this and I do recommend that you get. So now that everything's good, it is really smart to check and make sure it works before you button everything up. So we just have a little test box here. This is gonna mimic hooking up to our vehicle. So now as you can see, we do have some lights and stuff turning on. So we have everything turned on, but we're gonna test the functions. So let's start with the right turn signal. Then we're gonna go to the left. And then we want to make sure that our brake lights are working, which everything is good. So once you go through all those checks, you can button everything up and we're pretty much done with the install. If you already have your trailer and it's not really that clean when it comes to wiring and you don't really plan on putting a junction box in, all you're really gonna need to do is just grab some 14 gauge wire and some heat shrink butt connectors. And I would get some loom and we also have some loom hangers. So you're gonna run all this all the way back on the underside of your trailer, if you get on the inside of the tube, great. But a tube doesn't really work that well because it's a lot of tube, it's a lot of wire to fish through there. So you have everything that you need to hook up your trailer regardless of what kind of setup you plan on going for. Whether you go with the junction box or not, we're gonna have to run these wires back to our lights. And as you can see, we have a nice clean look. We got some loom, we got some holders. And then of course we got some lights. If you guys need lights, we've got those too, but the cleaner, the better when it comes to my trailer. So if you really want to make it nice and clean, we have everything you need to do that. All in all, I'm a fan of this one just because it has the thick little casing on the outside. And it just looks a little bit better, it matches my trailer. But if you are looking for one that's gonna be a little bit easier to pull apart, the Hopkins has one that just has a little circle on the inside, which we went over before. That one's gonna be a little bit easier, but this is pretty much checking all the boxes when it comes to trailer connections, and that is gonna do it for our look at the west bar jacketed four pole trailer connection..

This 4-wire flat, trailer-end connector includes a 10' long, jacketed cable with stripped, color-coded wires for easy installation.Purchased this part to rewire my utility trailer. I like the fact that it is jacketed and looks as though it will last a long time. I used all weather proof boxes, cable and connectors for the rewire. I would not hesitate purchasing this part again!!
Excellent quality looks like new
Great Product! It was the best replacement trailer plug with wire that I could find.
It is much heavier duty in nature than others I have looked at.

The Wesbar wiring harness has held up real well, considering how much I use the trailer. It should last many years.
Another great product from Etrailer. Perfect fit and has held up like new
Purchased this setup to have a sealed cable and plug end. After minimal use, the cable insulating rubber jacket pulled free from the plug end exposing the wiring. This completely negated the whole purpose of this setup.
I never pulled on the cable to disconnect the plug.
Very disappointed.
Very good quality, nice heavy-duty, jacketed plug for a durable installation.

excellent quality
The Wesbar harness worked great on my utility Trailer rebuild. The pre-assembled cord is a huge upgrade from the electrical tape wrapped wiring I previously was using.
Just what I was looking for at the right price to clean up my messy trailer wire harness. No more cut / scraped wires or issues with trouble shooting lights that are out. Well made weather proof wire harness.
I've dealt with etrailer over the last few years. Their staff was always helpful and they truly have everything related to trailering. Shipment has always been quick and they had handy parts not available around home. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again. Carl B.
I purchased this for a utility trailer as well as a boat trailer. It works well for both applications. I mostly like the lack of individual wires and wire loom. I think it makes both trailers look like a factory/professional installation.

I am still happy with this purchase and would recommend it to future buyers.
Very high grade plug, would recommend to anyone that has a trailer that they hook up to frequently (as in out case 4 to 5 times a week). Oversized end makes it easy to pull or push at tow vehicle. Great connector!
Great cable. Heavy duty and just what I wanted for my little trailer.
1000% better than standard cheap trailer harnesses. Would buy again in a heartbeat!
Used on a trailer tongue replacement. Worked well, still no problems one year later. Etrailer is a company I will use for ant trailer/towing needs.
Works very well. Much better than the junk most trailer manufacturers put on their trailers. Will use again for sure when necessary.
Construction of the product looked awesome however I could never get two of the conductors to work. I am guessing the 2 wires were broken in the assembly but could not locate where. The construction looked great, the actual function didn't work at all.
Redoing a snowmobile trailer and I wanted the have a jacketed 4 wire for longevity since I am replacing all lights and wire.
Excellent product works great I have bought many items for trailers I rebuild never had a problem with etrailer products will continue to buy from them.
Heavy duty wire sheathing that is holding up well. No issues thus far.
Harness worked out great. Item met all my expectations. Would recommend etrailer to my friends.
Outstanding quality! A+++ #14 AWG far superior connector than the one I replaced. Insulation will withstand all types of weather.
Easy installation. Rugged construction. Holding up very well.
Actually, I’m commenting on the service, I haven’t had time to attach the cable. Service was awesome. MUCH faster than I expected.
This should be able to replace the old cord that fell out of the truck, and drug 200 miles down the highway.
Good quality product at a fair price. Excellent customer service and follow-up to make sure order was delivered on time.
