Video Transcript for Checking Out the Extension Cable for Go Power Portable Solar Kit

Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we are looking at the extension cable for your Go Power solar panel kits here at etrailer. Right here, I have the 12 foot extension cable which comes with our go power portable panel kits. And as you can see, it's kind of on the short side it does get the job done. But if you need a little extra length I highly recommend taking up the 30 foot expansion cable. That way you get to park in the shade and have your solar panels out, working for you in the sun.

I unrolled the extension cable just to see how far it actually goes. And as you can see, the 30 feet was able to cover about 3 and a half parking spots. This is what the 30 foot long cable looks like. You can also add this to your extension that's already with your kit, which is 12 feet long creating a total of 42 feet added to your solar panel system. The extension cable itself is nice, strong, durable but also flexible, which I like 'cause I have it rolled up in my storage all the time but still maintains its shape as well as its durability.

Now this, when used with the Go Power portable system we'll be carrying up to 300 watts which is great because you are working within the capabilities of your cable. The extension cable is special in that it has a cap on the end, the extension cable that comes with your kit does not have that cap. And you can use this, just take that cap off and plug it, positive to positive, negative to negative right into your cable to power your system. In terms of storage, you're going to get this hook and loop strap that goes around your keyboards. You have it folded up.

That makes for a nice, neat look and keeps it all organized. The extension cable comes in this nice heavy duty plastic case that secures at the top. I do like the case because that way I can store it inside my camper for when I need it. And I don't have to worry about it. My final thoughts about the extension cable is I do like how it gives me more options as to where I'm setting up my solar panel system.

I don't have to worry about sticking close to my camper. And if I want to park out in the shade and have the panels out in the sun, this really helps with that. I highly recommend picking it up just in case that way you're not short when the situation calls for it. And that was a look here at the extension cable for your Go Power solar panel kits here at etrailer..

Product was just as described on the website. It is a high quality cable, perfectly compatible with my portable Go Power solar panel I use with my camper. Perfect to follow the sun at partially shaded campsites.

We have used the cable many times over the year and are very satisfied with it. The length and quality of the cable provide the flexibility we need to position our solar panel in just the right spot. We are able to completely recharge every day when off grid.

@Kim happy to hear it! Where do you usually go when you're off-grid?

by:

Everything came that I needed to plug in and receive electrical charge to my trailer. It's a bit heavy for me,70 female, but it's manageable. I wish the cost was less, yet it's a great piece of mind to know I can charge up my batteries as needed. I also like the display telling me how much is charged. I'm looking forward to seeing how long it lasts.

The panels are working well. They do a great job maintaining the batteries in storage. Its also been fantastic when boondocks. The panels stay outside 247, in SoCal, and still pulls max voltage. Very happy overall by product quality.

Purchased in May 2021... finally finished my build-out Sept'22 DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! Unpacking the cables:a wire was never connected to the connector yet a sticker for quality control was adhered to the part! The leads on the wires going into the various connectors have 1/8-3/16ths of an inch exposure to insert into the connectors. The wires are NOT sodered into the connectors! My first day of use, another wire from a different connector came apart! Realize, that these are portable panels... you will be moving them around and with the non existent quality control you are getting an inferior product. Notice in the photo that this wire was enclosed in factory direct heat shrink which should strengthen and support the connection. I will NEVER buy GO POWER products again!... and I question a company that would sell this quality of products.

This extension cable has made it possible to camp in the shade while allowing my 90 watt Go Power portable solar panel to sit easily in the sun. My access port on my travel trailer is not always in the best position (I like to park facing east so the afternoon sun doesn't drill into my trailer heating it up) to use the standard 12 ft cable that came with the panel kit. Literally, a snap to put together.

by:

I ordered the 30' extension cable for additional reach in placing the solar panels. The 12' cable that came with the solar panel kit doesn't get you very far from your RV to find a clearing with optimal solar exposure. I like how all the components of GoPower solar kit mate together so well. They appear to be built from high quality materials.

by:

Read all the reviews and noticed that nobody commented on the power produced by this overpriced panel. Sitting at average of 30-40 watts on a good day in the arizona hot sun, no obstruction. I'm getting the same on my friends cheap 50 watt panel and different controller. Unacceptable for the cost. Don't waste your money. Go get a renogy for half the price. I filed a warranty claim but it looks like GoPower ghosted me.

by:

Well made, perfect for its intended use.

by:

Very high-quality components. Heavy duty and durable. Just what I wanted!

eTrailer has the fastest shipping and goods always well packed. They will always go to the next level to help with your orders. Thanks etrailer

by:

Amazing product and amazing service, both from etrailer and Go-Power.

by:

The 30' extension cord is 10 guage, of very high quality. It arrived on time in excellent packaging.
I continue to be impressed by the people at etrailer. The customer service is in fact, customer care. I mistakenly listed my PO box as the shipping address. Michelle at etrailer caught it and called me to correct my error in less than 24 hours. In this time of national emergency, when our personal lives are so chaotic and uncertain, I am impressed that they continue to demonstrate their very high level of customer care. I am a customer for life.

The GoPower solar suitcase has worked very well and has allowed longer camp outs. Just switched to AGM batteries for even longer camping trips.

Extension cables are a real plus as panels can be moved into the sun all day. Simple attachment to the trailer and panel.

Fantastic 130 w portable solar kits. We use these to run our cpap machines in our camper. Well made, easy to set up and fast to charge 2 group 27 batteries. We bought the extension cords so we can place the panels where we need them.

Still working well after a year. Very satisfied!

by:

I a only give it an average rating because the connectors were on it correct. Because of a defective part on the solar panel (that has never been replaced in almost a year) I was going to use it with, I haven’t been able to use it.

Works ok when I connect it to the defective connector I had to jury rig on the solar panel. Been almost 2 years now and the defective connector on the solar panel has never been replaced. So the only thing I can say is your Customer Service is horrible and I will never buy another of your products.

by:

This cable worked as described with three connection options available. We used it to enhance our go power Solar system in our Lance trailer via a solar on the side port and a go power portable solar panel through a week of rainy weather in the Tetons. Thanks to Lance for being a brand that did have the port connected to our battery system and thanks to etrailer for fast and helpful service. When a delivery issue because of our off the main drag address occurred, etrailer was very supportive and offered assistance even though they weren’t responsible. I will make etrailer our first choice source for future travel needs.

by:

To be honest I hooked it up once,Easy!! I keep it stored in my 31 ft RV . I have 2 coach deep cycle 6 volt batteries it works great . It is my big bug out bag if you will . Plenty of power if I ever need it . Love the 30 ft extra cable. I installed 30 ft of 1/8 in. Stainless mess wire to it lockable just to keep the amateurs from walking off with it. You know the old saying, Be prepared and keep your powder dry.

by:

Used our portable solar panels for the 1st time 2 weeks ago.
Ease of set up and having the trailer pre wired for solar makes it very easy to use.
Panels keep the house battery topped off thru out the day.

by:

I ordered this extension to compliment the GoPower 100w Duralite Solar Kit purchased from etrailer.
As always with etrailer, it arrived on time and is a high quality item.

by:

Cable is well made and definitely heavy duty. I returned the cable without using it as I returned the Go Power solar panel also. See that item for my 4 star review...

by:

It is a necessary addition to the Go Power Solar-on-the-side panels. The extension cable is heavy-duty, heavier than I expected. So far I am pleased with the purchase. Haven't field tested it yet.

by:

Purchased aa Go Power solar portable panel for the Tear Drop trailer I’m having built. Won’t know how functional the unit will be until mid-July when it’s finished and I can hit the road. Still I think it’s going to be perfect for my needs.

by:

worked great!

by:

Sal was the best support I have ever dealt with in any company. He got back with me to provide the status of the order and the issue with finding the solar panel in the warehouse. He stayed after his normal work shift to contact me. I can't say enough on his efforts and dedication. Thank you!!

A must need in the PNW camping in the trees - allows you to follow the sun. Connectors are a snug fit and hefty but flexible cord.

  • Will Go Power Portable Solar System with Digital Solar Controller Keep 2 Batteries Charged
The Go Power Portable Solar System with Digital Solar Controller - 130 Watt Solar Panel # 34282730 is compatible with AGM batteries, and will do a great job of keeping a pair of 12 volt batteries wired in parallel charged. This does, of course, depend on how often and at what rate you plan on using your batteries, but a typical camper will be gone and not really using power during the day, allowing the solar unit to charge the batteries. This system is perfect for that so you'll have plenty...

  • Best Portable Solar Panels For A 2022 Flagstaff E-Pro 19FD Travel Trailer
To add more solar panels to your trailer you'll need to ensure that the solar charge controller can handle the load before purchasing additional panels and you'll want to purchase the same wattage. For example, if you add in a 100 watt panel the system will essentially downgrade your 190 watt panel to 100 watts and you'd only have 200 watts between the two panels. Typically the side ports for solar are SAE connectors and they're ran directly to the battery without a controller looped...
