Features to know about

Rated to Handle the Heaviest 5th Wheels

Q Hitch installed in truck bed

This hitch is built from heavy-duty steel and rated for 25,000 lbs GTW, giving you the muscle to handle even the biggest, fully loaded 5th-wheel campers with confidence. And it gives you room to grow if you move to a larger 5th wheel down the line. Plus, the protective powder coat helps resist rust and wear over time, so you can rely on it season after season. This sturdy construction provides a strong base to a hitching system that feels just as solid when you back in and hitch up.

Full-Contact Jaw Connection

Q Hitch open jawsQ Hitch closed jaws

Slide-bar and single-jaw hitches are known for leaving too much room around the king pin. That looseness leads to noise, slop, and an unsettling feel on the road. This dual-jaw system wraps tightly around the king pin from all sides to create a stable connection that feels locked in as soon as you hitch up. It holds firm to reduce noise and cut down on movement. You'll notice the difference the first time you tow.

Know When You're Locked

Q Hitch color coded indicator

Before you pull away, a quick glance at the color-coded indicator shows you exactly what the jaws are doing: red means uncoupled, yellow means ready to couple, and green means you're locked in for towing.

Q Hitch indicator on handle

There's no need to climb into the bed to check the connection since you can easily see the color at a glance. If you've ever thought the jaws were locked only to find out they weren't, you know how bad things can get. This system keeps that from happening.

Quiet, Fluid Motion on the Road

You'll feel the change as soon as you're moving. The hitch head pivots smoothly on a spherical axial bearing, allowing full 360-degree movement. As the head moves, rubber bushings help absorb shock and reduce the jerking motion that leads to chucking. It's not just about softening the impact of rough roads. It's about helping you stay more comfortable behind the wheel by reducing the constant shifting and jolts that wear you down over time. From campground runs to multi-state road trips, the ride feels more stable, more responsive, and less like a fight with every bump.

Remove the Hitch in Two Steps

When the trip is over and you need your truck bed back, this hitch removes in two steps with no tools. Pull the first set of pins to lift off the head, then use the handles on the legs to release the hitch from the pucks. The parts are still relatively heavy, but this design takes some of the strain out of the process. It's a solid solution for anyone switching between trip mode and work mode where being able to clear your bed matters.

Everything You Need to Install

This hitch is designed to drop into your truck's factory puck system using quarter-turn anchors for a fast, secure fit. It ships with the head, puck-style legs, and all necessary hardware. There are no rails or brackets to worry about. That makes installation easier to handle whether you're doing it yourself or taking it to a shop.

  • Can Curt Q25 Fixed Hitch Work with 2025 Chevy Silverado 3500HD Short Bed
Hey Vince, yes the Curt Q25 fixed hitch part # C97FR can be used in the bed of your 2025 Chevy Silverado 3500 with OEM pucks. This is a fixed hitch which means it doesn't have a way to gain additional turning clearance like what is normally needed with short bed trucks like yours...HOWEVER nowadays most fifth wheel campers have tapered noses or pivoting pin boxes to allow for short bed turning clearance that does not require a slider so most likely this will work just fine for you. If...

  • Will A Tight Fitting 5th Wheel Hitch Put Too Much Strain On An In-Bed Puck System
It's very common that the legs of a fifth wheel hitch have to be loosened in order to drop into the pucks in the truck bed. With you only have an 1/8" gap the legs of your Curt Q25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C97FR most likely just were sitting perfectly straight so it's nothing to worry about. Typically we recommend have the legs torqued down to the main body of the hitch and then just loosening the castle nut on the feet of the hitch to get them to drop into the pucks and then retightening them.

  • Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch for a 2024 Chevy Silverado 3500 w/ Factory Puck System
Yes, it will. The Curt Q25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch item # C97FR will mount directly to the pucks inside your 2024 Silverado's bed. As far as your 1621 pin box goes that's just the bolt pattern so I can't say for certain. If your pin box rotates then it will not work with the Q25. Other than that you will be good. The Curt Q25 item # C97FR has a 25,000 lbs maximum towing capacity and a vertical load limit of 6,250 lbs.

  • Will the Curt Q25 Also Fit in the Short Bed 2020 GMC Sierra 2500 OEM Pucks
Yes. The Curt Q25 # C97FR does also fit in the OEM prep package on the short bed (6-3/4 foot) versions of the 2020 GMC Sierra 2500. If you're confident that you won't need a slider hitch or pin box with a rotating turret this is the correct choice,. With that said, it should be noted that the Q25 hitch is not compatible with rotating turret pin boxes because of the spherical axial bearing that the head sits on, so if you would need to switch to one later on to provide turning clearance,...

  • What Trucks Can a Curt Q25 for Chevy/GMC Prep Package without Slider Be Used In
It sounds like you have the Curt Q25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package # C97FR. The Curt Q25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package # C97FR will fit any 8' bed Chevrolet/GMC truck that has the factory 5th wheel trailer prep package (puck system). If you have industry standard rails in your truck, you can get the Replacement Base Legs for Curt Q25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C16963. These legs would replace the Chevy/GMC legs you currently have and...

  • Comparing Curt A25 and Q25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches for a 2022 GMC Sierra 3500 with Prep
The main difference between the Curt A-Series part # C24FR and Q-Series part # C97FR is the head and jaw design. The A-Series has dual interlocking jaws which form a much tighter grip on the kingpin than just a standard set that butt up at the end like on the Q-Series. The tighter grip on the kingpin means less movement such as chucking and jarring which equates to a smoother ride. The A-Series also has a one-pin head removed which saves your back when getting the hitch in and out of the...

  • Hitch Recommendation for 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 - Curt Q25 with OEM Towing Prep Package
Yes, this will include everything needed to install. Please see the product review video linked below. The Curt Q25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch, # C97FR, is for Chevy/GMC trucks with the OEM puck system. This is the heavy duty dual jaw model for 25,000 lbs. with a vertical load limit is 6,250 lbs.

  • Recommended Height For Item # C97FR In A 2021 GMC Sierra 3500
I wouldn't say there is actually a formula for setting the height for the Curt Q25 Item # C97FR on a 2021 GMC Sierra 3500 . It is recommended that the bottom edge of the nose on your 5th wheel is 6 inches above the bed rails. I typically set the hitch height in the middle initially. This seems to be the standard height of most campers. Once height is set, hook the camper up and check the distance between the bed rails and the bottom edge of the nose. If you have close to 6" you are good...

  • Does B and W Companion Hitch Head Have Ability to Pivot In All Directions
The B and W Companion hitches like the # BWRVK3710 that fits your 2020 GMC Sierra 3500 OEM prep package does have a pivoting head that can move forward and back as well as side to side. Other manufacturers have this as well but they use different terminology like what you referred to.

  • Will a Curt Q-25 Fit in a 2021 GMC Sierra 2500 with 6-3/4 Foot Bed and without the OEM Prep Package
I have a solution for you, but there are two issues here; the Curt Q-25 # C97FR is designed to fit in the OEM prep package for Chevy/GMC trucks and typically a non-sliding hitch is only recommended for trucks with 8 foot long beds. If you've determined that your trailer is configured in such a manner that it won't contact the cab of the trailer when making turns and you've got an OEM prep package you can use the # C97FR. However, you've indicated that you don't have the OEM prep package...

  • Difference Between the Curt Q24 & Q25 5th Wheel Hitch for a 2022 Chevrolet 2500 w/ OEM Prep Package
The only difference between the Curt Q24 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C37FR and the Curt Q25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C97FR is indeed the 1,000 lbs. weight capacity difference. Both of these hitches actually use the same legs and will drop into the factory puck system you have in your Silverado. The 1,000 lb. difference comes from the Q24 having head rated for less than the Q25. But both heads have the same convenient features like the interlocking dual jaw system and indicator system which...

  • Are The Curt Q-Series Fifth Wheel Hitches Compatible With Sidewinder Pin Boxes
The little tech note on Reese's page is worded a bit misleadingly. The Sidewinder Wedge Kit for Curt E-Series Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP64FR you were looking at is only compatible with the Curt E-Series hitches, which is why it says not to use with the A-Series. The Q-Series hitch heads are not compatible with the stress that a Sidewinder would put on it which is why we list it as not compatible. If you plan on using a Curt hitch with a Sidewinder pin box then you'll definitely...
