I wouldn't say there is actually a formula for setting the height for the Curt Q25 Item # C97FR on a 2021 GMC Sierra 3500 . It is recommended that the bottom edge of the nose on your 5th wheel is 6 inches above the bed rails. I typically set the hitch height in the middle initially. This seems to be the standard height of most campers. Once height is set, hook the camper up and check the distance between the bed rails and the bottom edge of the nose. If you have close to 6" you are good to go. With having an 8 ft bed the nose of the camper will be far enough away from the cab that a sliding hitch is not necessary.
