This hitch is made for serious hauling, rated at 21,000 lbs GTW with solid steel construction and a corrosion-resistant powder coat finish. The fixed fifth-wheel design uses a wraparound, single-piece jaw that gives full 360-degree king pin contact. The added 3/4" thick locking bar reinforces the connection so you get a tight, secure fit with less rattle and slack. When you’re towing heavy loads cross-country, that solid hookup makes all the difference in stability and confidence.

The double-pivot head moves both front to back and side to side to keep things smooth when the road gets rough. Three polyurethane dampeners help absorb shock and cut down on clanking so the trailer settles in behind you without constant noise or bounce. When you back in to hitch up, the head automatically pivots to the right angle—no fighting it into place.

The unique underbed (UMS) mounting system drops directly into four receiver pucks built into the truck’s bed rails. You just turn the handles to lock it in or pull them to lift it out when you want full bed access. The side plates bolt to the base and give you four height settings from 16" to 19", so you can dial in your setup for level towing. Plugs are included to keep dirt and moisture out of the receivers when the hitch isn’t installed.
Once the jaw closes around the king pin, a solid locking bar automatically slides into place for backup security. The spring-loaded handle with a comfort grip makes coupling simple without needing extra tools or leverage. A tethered safety pin keeps the handle locked open or closed so there’s no guesswork about whether you’re ready to tow.

This is better than I thought it would be. It came in three boxes and you have to put it together but the instructions are easy to follow. It is totally height adjustable so you don’t have to worry about whether it will be too short or too tall for your truck bed.
Second product I bought from etrailer with no complaints.
Great unit and help from etrailer. We sold the 5th wheel that had a sidewinder hitch on it. We are buying a 2017 Keystone Cougar RLSWE now. Will this Demco work on it?
Thanks
Hitch went together smoothly and fit into the factory bed holes perfectly.Rides nice on the initial test drive.Demco could make their packaging more durable. the paint was rubbed off in one area and the box was on it's way to destruction. let's face it, this is some heavy stuff to ship around.
The safety features of this hitch were exactly what my husband was looking for. We have a 2016 F 350 with the factory cutouts and this dropped right in and locked in with no problems. You do have to put this together which is fairly simple. The only complaint I had was throughout shipping, there were holes ripped all throughout the boxes. One of which was the one that had the nut's bolt's and washers in it and they weren't sealed in the bag that they came in so, we didn't have all of them. Many were lost but they were easily replaced at the local parts store.
We haven't towed with it yet but everything should be typical with that.
Very simple install. Very well built unit. Had to remove 1 shim on 3 of the feet because the handles were way too tight. Had ro use a rubber mallet to turn them at first. After removing the shims, it is perfect. I purchased a small master lock to replace one of the cotter pins for the safety pins so that noone steals the hitch. No noise while driving with just the hitch installed at all. I have not had a chance to tow anything as of yet--- pick up my 40' 5er wed!
Seems to be a very well made, good looking, compact hitch. This was installed in a 2018 F350 long bed dually woth the oem under bed puck system.
Our Demco hitch installed with out issues. We didn't use it till the last of May, then we pulled over 3000 miles. the only issue we had was un-hitching with hitch & 5th wheel in a semi-bind, NOT the hitches fault. Totally satisfied with the unit.
We have had Demco tow bars for years before our 5th wheel, so we were not surprised at the quatity of our hitch, only complaint would be better prep before painting/coating unit. thank you Phil Z
The Demo hitch arrived first, all good, nice heavy duty boxes, I assembled it with no issues, can't wait to use it.
The Hydrastar disc brake kit however arrived a couple days later in a beat up torn box barely held together. The parts in the big box were also boxed sort of, they were all broken and torn up. Fortunately the parts weren't broken.I have never seen heavy items with such flimsy packaging. I assume hydrastar boxed it all up. I am giving 5 stars because Etrailer has great customer service, and helped me over the phone to make sure I was order the correct items for my rig.
This is one of the best fith weel hitches that I have had and I used about all of of them thanks for thanks for asking
I am HAPPY 5TH Wheel
First, thanks to Christina for the service and information re hitches and selection.Ok now for the complaints..... they are few. THE instructions are poor at best and the description details are misleading. They state no drilling required other than the truck bed. While I am sure this is true for 2010 trucks and newer, not so for my2007 F350. Not stated in the description is the fact that older trucks require 4, 1\2 inch holes need to be drilled in the truck frame rails. No big deal but be prepared to drill them if your truck is an older mod. Ford.
Came in four boxes, each with its own set of instructions... What I was looking for was a Start Here point. That didn't exist so it was guess work for a starting point. Referring back and forth to different sections for what to do.
Once I got past the slight confusion ,assembly and install was pretty easy.
Took about 4 hours start to finish. Haven' towed with it yet..... that happens later to day.
Good stuff. The hitch is well made and Quality seems to be outstanding. It works just as expected easy to place the hitch in the truck and comes out easily too nice clean bed after removal.
If it weren't for the instructions this would be 5 star rating.
It seems like a good hitch we still have snow up here so I have too wait to try it out.everything fit perfect. I think I will be very happy with it, and it was at a good price as far as I’m concerned. If someone is thinking about getting one just remember you need a torque wrench.
Having owned and used the 2005 predecessor to this hitch, I can say it's done well for us. I am hoping that this new clamshell design will make connecting to our 5th wheel toy hauler even easier. We've never invested in a hitch cover for the old one and only travel about 5 times per year. The hitch is always in the weather. We plan on covering this one as the rain washes away vital lubrication and the sun evaporates said same. This has made operating the old slide bar type hitchhiker a pain from time to time. I was disappointed in the packaging for shipment. There were three separate cardboard boxes, two of which had parts either penetrating out through the sides or in the one case, a bag of bolts falling out upon delivery. I would have liked to see better operating instructions included in the box. There are parts lists and schematics for each of the separate assemblies, but nothing aside from the stickers on the hitch on how to properly use and maintain the hitch.
Very helpful!!!
When I called the support staff was very helpful
It broke 3 months into it. Junk
If I ever have to get another one, it will be a Demco
My goodness, service was so good! Knowledgable person answered the phone and guided me to a product that worked for me. Shipping was 2 days! Fantastic experience! Thanks a ton!
The itself is high quality and very nice design. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is that it is difficult to take in and out of the pucks in the bed. I have to use a pry bar to get it out and a sod faced mallet to install it. Dem I advised me to use washers to get it to fit better, 1 washer ( the current set up) isn’t quite enough but 2 washers made it too large
Can't say enough good thi gs about e-trailer has worked with me, in turn I and my family have purchased many items. My hijacker hitch works perfect.
Other than the logo sticker being upside down the hitch is great. Demco is sending a new one. No problem to assemble and install. Regarding etrailer.com, what rating is above excellent? Pat C in customer support went above and beyond to address any issues and was always ready to answer any questions.
This hitch did amazing with a trailer move i preformed over the weekend..Demco products are highly recommended.
The assembly was quick and easy since it comes mostly assembled. Also, helpful that I have 2 torque wrenches and two 3/4 deep sockets. Nice that you can pull the pin out & remove the head when you take it out. The only problem I’ve had is it’s a little tight putting it back in the pucks. I had to loosen a couple bolts to get it back in. This is definitely manageable for one person to take in and out. Delivery was very fast (3 days) and I had it in about an hour after it arrived. I like the security Demco wrap around jaw with the lock bar and the functionality of the double pivot head with the bumpers. Also, you can’t beat the price on these. The 4 height options is more than most and another reason I picked this hitch.

Thanks for the detailed review! Glad to hear the installation went smoothly and you're happy with the features of the Demco hitch. Being able to remove the head separately definitely makes getting it in and out of the truck more manageable.
