Butch - 05/11/2022Going from a 2017 to a 2024 Chevy 3500HD DRW truck I need new legs. Glad I could get just the legs and not a hole setup to save some money. Easy to install. The new truck is taller than the old, but it didn't raise it that much. I am going to look at ether moving the kingpin or hitch to level it if I can and still keep bed clearance.

I have a Curt Q-20 5th wheel hitch. The hitch has served me well, so I didn't want to purchase a whole new 5th wheel hitch. I bought the CU53FR 5th wheel legs,Item # 16029 and installed them in my new 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD standard bed, that had the gooseneck, 5th wheel package. It was a easy change over and looking forward to get on the road this year.

Fit perfect. GMC changed the footprint of the puck system from my original truck so I bought the legs so I would not have to spend more money. Great product.
Item came with no issue. But the lack of directions was concerning. My A20 used 2 m14 bolts and had 2 welded pins for other two holes. This unit did not have welded pins and the inside bolt holes did not line up correctly to add 2 more m14 bolts. I had to add 2 m12 bolts per side to fit inside holes

As always description is spot on,recieved legs quickly put the legs on hitch and perfect match to the truck. Always a pleasure buying from etrailer.
Overall, the hitch works fine. There are some convenient features that make it easy to use and the head seems to work well -- I'm towing a 10k Grand Design. The installation is pretty easy to do alone; the whole unit only weighs 135lbs or so? So, you *should* be able to get in/out of the truck solo. The red/yellow/green indicator makes it easy for a new owner (me!) to feel confidents everything is locked and/or ready to roll. There are only 3 height settings, and that is somewhat limiting but should be workable for most setups. Here's the problem...
The two "lower" settings (13", 15") are easy to rig. You can remove the head from the head frame and torque the nuts from above. AND, importantly, when you tighten everything up the unit stays plum so you can set in the bed/pucks with little issue. Took me 15 minutes. The PROBLEM is that on the high (17") setting, the bolts go through the bottom holes in the head frame. Creates two problems, 1) there is a piece of steel that prevents you from torquing from above. Not a big deal since you can flip over and get from the bottom; so, this is a minor inconvenience. The biggest issue is 2) when you torque with bolts on this height setting, the feet get pulled in (not enough frame to keep them plum) so when you go to insert, it won't go. AND, since you can't torque from above, you can't even "loosen" everything the tighten in place! What I had to do was jam a piece of wood to splay the feet 1/8" so they'd drop in. This is not preferred since I could obviously damage the pucks, but also b/c it'll be hard to get out!
I wish I'd purchased a different set up. Would love to know if this was just my experience. If not, this is a pretty big design flaw that negates any of the "convenience" this hitch otherwise provides.
I bought a 2021 chevy 3500 HD and was surprised that my 5th wheel hitch from my 2017 GMC duly wouldn’t work in the 5th wheel prep. I called Curt and found the solution, buy a set of legs. After researching I found etrailer had the best price. They also had free shipping (a great bargain). They filled my order and shipped quickly. Justin was very helpful and checked back with me several times. Etrailer’s website was extensive and easy to navigate. I’ll be back for all my related needs.

Service for find correct part I needed was excellent. updates on shipping are a great resource to know when package will arrive. Packaging by curt is a little bite to question. boxing was ripped when it arrived. This is no fault of E Trailer. I will be dealing with E Trailer in the future.

Just what was needed when upgraded from 2018 2500HD Silverado to 2021 2500HD Sierra AT4. These legs are needed due to the different placement of the factory installed pucks on the 2020 and higher Silverado and Sierra 2500HD. I'm reusing my Curt Q20 hitch head with these legs. Good price from etrailer. Package arrived as expected and in good shape. Will use etrailer.com again.
Never had better service. I live in upstate NY. I was in need of parts to change the 5th wheel hitch over to a new truck. The parts arrived at my house from Missouri in 27 hours. Had my doubts but they came through even in today’s crazy world. We were able to leave for trip on time.
