Secure, Two-Piece Jaw

Q24 Two-Piece Jaw

Unlike slide-bar models, the rounded, two-piece jaw on this fifth-wheel trailer hitch inhibits rattle and movement by securely wrapping around your trailer's king pin, resulting in easier hookup and a safer, quieter ride.

Three-Point Indicator System

Get peace of mind with Curt's color-coded lock indicator. Just look at the indicator - either the one on the handle or the one on the hitch itself - to determine whether the jaw is in the correct position to uncouple (red), couple (yellow) or tow (green).

Q24 Color Indicator System

360-Degree Pivot

Curt's unique spherical axial bearing provides a durable pivot point that allows easy, 360-degree movement of the hitch head. This ball joint is designed for smooth, quiet operation with less clunking and chucking.

S25 Slider

Most often used on trucks with 6' and 6-1/2' beds, this slider helps to eliminate clearance problems during slow-speed turns. When you are towing a fifth-wheel trailer, your hitch must be situated on the cab side of your truck's rear axle. However, at slow speeds you can use a slider to slide the fifth-wheel hitch (and the trailer) toward your truck's tailgate and past the rear axle, creating enough space between the cab of your truck and the trailer to permit less-restricted turning.

Video Transcript for What to Know About the Curt Universal Fifth Wheel Base Rails

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the CURT Universal Carbide Black Finish Fifth Wheel Base Rails. Now, these base rails will install in your truck bed. And they provide the necessary attachment points for your fifth wheel hitch installation. Now, when these rails are used with the CURT's Custom Mounting Brackets, which we sell separate on a website, these rails will cut in half the time it takes to install your fifth wheel trailer hitch.

We mentioned the finish on this. I'm gonna zoom in and sort of show it. It's a carbide black finish, sort of like a matte black finish, so it matches the finish if you use it on the CURT Q5 20K Fifth Wheel Hitch. Now, these rails are universal, so they will work with the following fifth wheel hitches. They work with the CURT brand, the Draw-Tite, the Hidden Hitch, the Reese, and even the Husky.

This part here will include the two base rails. Now, we mentioned the mounting brackets, the custom mounting brackets, the hardware, and an installation kit is all sold separately. The length on these rails, if we put a tape measure on them from one end to the other, right at 43 inches long. But that should do it for the review on the CURT Universal Carbide Black Finish Fifth Wheel Base Rails.

  • B&W Rails And Hitch For A 2001 Ford F250 Super Duty
Hi Jeremy! B&W does indeed have an option for your 2001 Ford F250. The B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider and Universal Install Kit - Dual Jaw - 18,000 lbs # BW38XR is a sliding hitch, which is recommended for short bed trucks, and comes with ISR (Industry Standard Rails) universal rails # BWRVR3200. These rails will require a bit of drilling into the frame of your truck, but we do have an option that is a much easier install (though not from B&W). The Curt Custom Fifth Wheel...

  • Is Curt Rail Kit C16443-204 Compatible With B&W Patriot Slider
Hi Joel, Joel, yes these Curt rails part # C16443-204 are industry standard rails with custom brackets for the 1999 to 2004 Ford F-250 Super Duty 6-3/4 foot bed, 1999 to 2004 Ford F-250 Super Duty 8 foot bed, 1999 to 2004 Ford F-350 Super Duty 6-3/4 foot bed, and 1999 to 2004 Ford F-350 Super Duty 8 foot bed. The B&W Patriot slider part # BWRVK3270 fits on industry standard above bed rails in the truck so you are good to go as long as you have one of these vehicles. Where are you taking...

  • Will The PullRite SuperGlide PUL63RR Fit A 2001 Ford F250?
Hi Jeff! If your 2001 Ford F250 has above bed rails, like the Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit for Ford F250 and F350 - Carbide Finish # C16443-204, then the PullRite SuperGlide 5th Wheel Hitch for Short Bed Trucks - 20K # PUL63RR will indeed fit! If you don't currently have above bed rails, the # C16443-204 rail kit I mentioned is a custom fit set up for your truck. If you wanted to add some wiring into your bed, I recommend the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness...

  • 5TH Wheel Rail Kit For a 2000 Ford F-250 Short Bed To Accept a B&W Patriot 5TH Wheel Hitch
I recommend installing the Curt 5TH Wheel Rails # C16443-204 on your 2000 Ford F-250. Currently B&W only goes back to 2005 for their custom under bed brackets. For your 2000 F-250 you would have to use the B&W Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit # BWRVR3200 to stay with B&W rails and under bed brackets. These underbed brackets are universal so you will have to drill the frame to use this kit. The Curt # C16443-204 rails are custom fit so you will not have to drill your frame. They...

We have what you need and it will work with both hitches. You will not need to change the above bed rails for your 1999 Ford F-350 Super Duty if you install ISR (Industry Standard Rails) which pretty much the only currently available option. Any hitch made in recent years by a major brand will be ISR except for those made specifically for the respective OEM puck systems. The Curt Custom 5th Wheel Install Kit part # C16443-204 which is a fit for your 2003 Ford F-250/F-350 will use three bolts to secure the base rail to the frame bracket and one bolt to secure the base rail to the bed floor on each side. Therefore, you will only be using three bolts per side that go between the base rail and frame bracket but there are a total of four bolts per side securing the base rail. The square spacers go between the rails and the truck bed where the bolts go through that attach to the nuts on the under side of the bed. They should be placed in the lower corrugation in the bed. Sometimes, a hole for the bolt has to be drilled in the side of one of the raised corrugations. In this case, you can use an angle grinder and trim the spacer at a 45 degree angle so that it will fit. So you would have a bolt going through the rail, then the spacer (which is between the rail...
