Note: Because of the size of this item, it ships via truck freight.

Most often used on trucks with 6' and 6-1/2' beds, this roller helps to eliminate clearance problems during slow-speed turns. When you are towing a fifth-wheel trailer, your hitch must be situated on the cab side of your truck's rear axle. However, at slow speeds you can use a roller to slide the fifth-wheel hitch (and the trailer) toward your truck's tailgate and past the rear axle, creating enough space between the cab of your truck and the trailer to permit less-restricted turning.

Non-Binding Design

The round-tube design of this slider allows for relatively uninhibited movement of your fifth-wheel hitch. Because your hitch can glide smoothly and easily along the rods, there is less chance of binding.

With straight, flat contact points, as found with square-tube sliders, tension can build between the slider and the hitch when your truck and trailer are somewhat out of line or are on uneven ground. As a result, it can be difficult to properly activate the slider when your truck and trailer are not in a straight line.

With a round-tube slider, there is more give between the contacting surfaces, allowing better mobility of the hitch system. Fewer corners means less tension buildup. Activating a round-tube slider is easier, and operation as a whole is smoother.

Excellent - works as intended. I love the fact this unit was designed to slide while under full pin load. So I don't need to lower the front levelers and take the load off to make it slide. The only down side is that the spring loaded slider bar takes a lot of strength to get it "cocked" to allow sliding in either direction. This may loosen up with some use. I would definitely recommend purchase of this unit.

I still like the slider, but I have to say that the spring holding the slider handle in the lock position is so stiff that it is almost impossible to pull the handle out to allow the slider to move. I have a DRW and have to get a step stool out, crawl over the fender, and yank on the handle to get it to move. As a hitch, no problems. But as a slider, it is not perfect for me.

As of now I'm only giving a one star. Not because of the product is bad ( not sure on it yet).I ordered Curt 5th Wheel Round Tube Slider for Ford Super Duty Towing Prep Package - 12" Travel. It said that it would be delivered with in a few day. Well the order came in on Friday, but it was incorrect. I got just the upper hitch no rail system. So I call and talked to them to make sure I didn't order something wrong. All way ordered correctly. The following Monday I was notified that a new order was ship. Then on Wednesday was notified another ordered ship. They shipped the upper hitch agin on the second order. Now it's been 3 weeks and I'm still waiting on the 3rd order to get to get to me so I can see what's in that order. The freight company is saying it will be about another week before they can deliver it.

by:

The hitch arrived in perfect condition, the packaging is excellent and protects the product very well. The directions are well laid out and easy to follow. Total assemble was less than 20 min. However I am using the Curt Q16 hitch head which is listed as a replacement and while there are bolt holes perfectly aligned for this application they are not threaded like the original mounting arms were so I had to get 4 new nuts and bolts I wanted to make sure I used the exact same hardness so I had to order them. If there had been 4 nuts in the box the entire process would have been a perfectly easily install. I would highly recommend this product

After a year the slider is still working perfectly

I have ordered several items from etrailer, the most recent this 5th wheel slider base. It was delivered promptly, the deliver company even called me to ask where to leave the hitch and if it was alright to leave it at my house with no one home. I thought that was going above & beyond. All past items have been very satisfactory as well.

by:

Quality product, easy to use...love it.

by:

Easy to put together, easy to use. Seems very solid.

  • How Much Can a 2019 Ford F-250 Crew Cab Powerstroke Tow
The towing capacity of your 2019 Ford F-250 Crew Cab Powerstroke with the 6-3/4' bed will vary from 14,100-16,600 lbs depending on drive type, axle ratio, and gross combined weight rating. • Best Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch for 2019 Ford F-250 Super Duty With Ford Factory Prep Package
You mentioned wanting a light slider, though I do have to say that all 5th wheel hitches are going to have some heft to them. That said, there are ways to make it more manageable to remove them from the bed, which you can do by removing the head unit first and then the base, though it will still take two people to remove. Having said that, I will give you a couple options, starting with what is absolutely the best sliding 5th wheel hitch for your 2019 Ford F-250 with the factory Ford...
