Question:
I have a 2015 ford f250 short bed with a curt 16000 5th wheel hitch on factory tow package no slide back on hitch. Crusader 5th wheel that says right on it for short bed trucks. I can not go 90 dent in cab. Can I get a part for the hitch I got from you ? Can I extend the pin box to go 90 degrees ? The hitch and truck are only 9 months old and in body shop already. I can not get it in my drive way. Had to rent storage. It would be nice if I could use the same curt hitch.

The easiest solution for you to be able to tow your 5th wheel camper with your 2015 Ford F-250 short bed truck is the replace the base of your fixed 5th wheel hitch with a sliding base. For your Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with Ford OEM Legs # C16520-16017, the correct slider hitch base is the Curt 5th wheel Round Tube Slider for Ford Super Duty Towing Prep Package # C16020.
This slider base will attached to your existing hitch head # C16520 and fit in the factory puck system in your truck. Replacing the base will allow you to still use part of your existing hitch. With the slider, the hitch head will travel 12 inches front to back to provide you with additional clearance for turning. I've attached a review video of the slider for you.
For you to be confident this slider will give you enough clearance to complete a 90 degree turn, you can take a couple of measurements and use the following formula:
(A + B) - C = Clearance
A = Distance from center of fifth wheel hitch jaw to truck cab
B = Travel offered by slider base (C16020 = 12 inches)
C = Width of trailer divided by 2 (to get half)
You will need at least 4 inches of clearance to execute a 90 degree turn. For example, if the distance from the center of the hitch jaw to the cab is 40 inches, and the slider will give you an additional 12 inches, when turning the trailer's pivot point will be 52 inches behind the cab. If your trailer is 96 inches wide, we'll divide that by 2 and come up with 48 inches. In this scenario, the clearance is then 4 inches, meaning a 90 degree turn can be executed.

Get an Anderson Hitch System. It is a ball hitch. You have the ability to raise the ball. I pull a 395 Crusader with no issues.
