This setup combines a fixed fifth wheel hitch and gooseneck system rated for 20,000 lbs gross towing weight and 5,000 lbs vertical load limit. The wide-stance base and thick steel construction keep things strong and secure when towing heavy campers or toy haulers. The gray powder coated finish helps resist corrosion, so it stays looking good after many miles of use.
The 1" thick dual jaws give you 360-degree contact around the king pin for a tight, solid grip that cuts down on rattle compared to slide-bar designs. Polyurethane bushings sit on top of the pivot arms to cushion movement and reduce metal-on-metal noise. Together, these parts create a quieter ride and limit chucking for steadier towing down the highway.
The cam-action handle makes releasing the trailer simple, even on uneven ground. If there’s binding pressure between truck and trailer, you can unlatch the handle first and pull forward to open the jaws without a fight. It’s held closed with the included pin and clip or can be locked with a padlock (5/16" diameter shackle, 3" height, 2-1/4" width) for extra security when hitched.
When it’s time to use your truck bed again, remove the two-piece hitch setup to leave the bed completely open. The included Turnoverball gooseneck hitch installs under the bed using existing frame holes and becomes the single mounting point for both gooseneck and fifth wheel towing. Flip the ball upside down into its socket for storage, drop in the Companion post when ready to tow, and lock it from the driver’s-side wheel well handle—simple, clean, and ready for whatever comes next.
Getting level with your trailer is straightforward thanks to three height settings from 16-1/4" to 18-1/4" and two mounting positions for improved cab clearance. The pivot arms adjust fore or aft so you can fine-tune fitment for smooth towing and proper weight balance over your truck’s axle.
This fifth-wheel trailer hitch is not compatible with Sidewinder or Revolution king pins. Do not use any device that changes the pivot point of your trailer's king pin with this hitch.

Today we're going to review part number BWGNRC959. This is the B & W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch with a thirty thousand pound weight capacity. This heavy duty underbed hitch will let you tow your gooseneck trailer. When you turn the ball over it'll give you complete truck bed access when you're not towing. Basically what you can do is pull the handle, lock it open, pull the ball out, flip it over, drop it back into place, and then release the handle and the pin will lock it into place. With it flipped upside down then you'll have the full truck bed access.
It does have a five-eighths inch diameter spring loaded steel locking pin on the end of this handle which will go all the way through the ball to secure it into place. Right now, with it released, the pin goes through it. It's locked into place. When you want to remove it just pull out, lock it open. You can see the hole where it slides through.
It doesn't matter which side you put it in. When you're ready to tow, drop this, again, release the pin, and that pin will go all the way across and hold it into place. Very secure. This access handle right here will be at your rear driver's side wheel well to access it. The ball itself is a single piece machined ball socket. Pull it out so you can see here.
It provides rugged durability, has a square ball base that prevents the ball from turning in the hitch during hook up, and if you look at the corners they sort of beveled them off. This is a corners only fit so when you drop it in the stow position it prevents any grime from building up in the corners inside of the hitch. We offer a B & W companion hitch adapter. What that does, it will drop, it has a post on it. It's a fifth wheel hitch. It can drop in to there and lock into place and you'll be able to also tow a fifth wheel. They also make a ladder rack by B & W that you can also . It has a post on it that drops in there. This ladder rack will leave your truck bed side rails free and you can still carry ladders on it. This gooseneck hitch, you can see it has the spring loaded safety chain hook ups, which are built in. When you go to attach your safety chain just pull up, hook it in, and it holds it into place. This is a very simple installation. To install this it does require a custom installation kit. We do sell those separately. They are vehicle specific. What you need to do is go on our website, go to our fit guide, type in the year and model vehicle, and then it'll show you what installation kit you need for this gooseneck to install on your vehicle. The only thing is on your truck bed you would need to cut a four inch diameter hole so this would come through and you'd have access to the opening. The finish on this is a powder coated steel which is very sturdy and corrosion resistant. This part is made in the USA. A few specs on it, again, the gross towing weight capacity is thirty thousand pounds. The tongue weight or pin weight capacity is seventy-five hundred pounds. The ball size is an industry standard two and five-sixteenths gooseneck ball. It does come with a limited lifetime warranty. Again, just to show you, if you're ready to tow with it you just drop the ball into the opening, release the pin, and it will lock it right into place. When you're wanting to stow the ball you just pull it, twist it, and you'll see on top there's a slot that'll open and then a cutout, and it shows you where you can just lock it open, pull up on the ball, there's a little handle here you can hold on to, turn it over, drop it down, release that pin, and it's locked into the stowed position, you have the full truck bed access then. The C/W fifth wheel companion is a very good choice ! They make a very good hitch for pulling your fifth wheel. I installed it myself and had no problems! I called the factory to confirm something I read in ther instructions twice! The installation instructions are right on target and should be followed.

I haven’t pull the 5th wheeler yet, but the B&W Companion is a super heavy duty hitch and it looks like it will handle the job. The installation of the hitch went well. The instructions were pretty straight forward. No problems.

I recently bought the gooseneck and fifth wheel b&w hitches to install on my 2008 f 250. I could not be more happy with the products and customer service that etrailer provides. I also bought The Pollack t connector that was also easy to use. The install was done at home and easy to understand. Thanks again.
Build quality was great and it looks perfect. My only issue is they should supply hard washers and better quality lock washers. 2 of them bent so bad I had to remove them and file the heads to get the huge burrs off to tru to seat another one. If you supply high strength bolts you need to supply a higher grade lock washer it it just tears up the power coat .

I installed this system in my classic square body Silverado after installing the Turnover Ball BK1400 gooseneck hitch. Both work great together and this companion installed beautifully. I tow a 40’ Cougar camper with it.
I would like to say that I was not looking forward to putting this hitch on my truck. I heard nothing but nightmares and horror stories, but it couldn't be farther from the truth. I had a friend come over to help (glad I did cause that turnoverball hitch would have been a bear to hold up by yourself. It was ten times easier than I would have imagined. Just follow the instructions and it's a piece of cake. We had the turnover all hitch on in less than 2 hours. Unfortunately I had a rusted brake line that I had to repair before completing the job. Haven't used it yet but can't wait to hitch it up and hit the road. Thanks for making this hitch so easy to install. I'm glad it's American made and extremely heavy duty.

This hitch has been great. Ride is smooth and very little noise when connected or disconnected while traveling. No problems with locking and unlocking hitch on RV. Like how easy it is to look at hitch and confirm successful connection is made by looking at jaws on hitch connected to pin on RV.

Great product. Works flawlessly.
This part of the installation is easy. There are two main pieces. Fasten runners on the bottom of each of the two legs that sit in the bed grooves. Attach the large square pin that goes in the hole in the bed to the main base(there are several bolting patterns depending on where you want the 5th wheel assembly to sit in the bed) and set it in place. Item is heavy even without the upper part (5th wheel plate assembly). Best done by two people. 5th wheel plate assembly also heavy, but can be handled by one person. The directions are clear, easy to understand. Very nice clean setup.

Product has worked fine. Ive towed over 5,000 miles with it this year and have had absolutely no problems with the hitch what so ever.
Just finished installing my B&W Companion 5th Wheel hitch. I hooked to my RV to check my instillation, everything went very smooth.
I would recommend this hitch to anyone with a Gooseneck turnover ball B&W hitch installed in there truck bed. Great product, very easy instillation.

I wanted to be able to easily utilize my truck bed and this hitch provides that in spades! Easy to remove and install. I absolutely have to give a shout out to Paula on customer service. She was amazing! My first shipment was damaged and missing a vital part. Paula had another one shipped right away and made my return shipment a breeze. She stayed in contact with me to the end. I felt like she shared in my joy once the install was complete! The hitch is super adjustable for optimal placement in the bed and height of the trailer. Make a few quick measurements and it just goes together quickly. Love the dual jaw release lever. Our last 5th wheel hitch had the standard pull to release lever and it was often very difficult to operate. This lever style is a game changer. Overall, I couldn't be more pleased with the product and customer service!

One year later and zero complaints. The hitch operates smoothly with no signs of wear. Still very pleased! My 5th wheel weighs in around 15,500lbs loaded and we even pull a golf cart trailer behind occasionally. I have no reservations using this hitch.
The hitch i bought was super easy to install and worked great with the gooseneck system already on my truck. The team was super helpful in helping me select a hitch and cancel an order for one i ordered thinking it was correct (it was not). It worked great towing my 36" camper, and I like that its adjustable placement. 10/10 would use etrailer again for future towing needs.
Finally got my new B&W Companion Gooseneck to 5th wheel hitch installed in the bed of my 2024 Ford F250 Lariat. While I have not pulled my fifth wheel yet, I have hooked up to check clearances, etc. first thing I noticed was how easy hooking up and unhooking was with this witch. This hitch is solid and I look forward to many miles traveling with it. My truck has 6.7 foot bed and in the picture I will send you will notice I still had room for a 43 gallon auxiliary fuel tank. This is by far the best fifth wheel hitch I have ever used and I have used several. It’s very easy to hitch and unhitch and I don’t have to be perfectly lined up to hitch and unhitch. I highly recommend this product.
