Parts Needed to Use Andersen Aluminum Ultimate in 2025 Silverado 2500 Without Prep Package

Updated 03/21/2026 | Published 02/05/2026

Question:

I have a 2025 Silverado 2500 without the puck system. What are all the parts I need to buy and install in order to use this hitch with a Cougar 316rls? Also, I do not have a 7way connection in the bed, is there a plug and play kit for the Silverado?

Hey Adam! All you need to use the Andersen Aluminum Ultimate 5th Wheel Connection 2 Gooseneck # 3220 is a gooseneck hitch. The best option is going to be the B&W Turnoverball # BWGNRK1020.

The Turnoverball allows the ball to be stored upside down so you have full bed access when not in use. It also gives you the option to use the B&W Companion # BWRVK3500-5W if you ever decide you want to use a traditional 5th wheel hitch. Then for a 7-way in your bed you can use the # C53CR which plugs in-line with your factory 7-way.

Any big trips coming up this spring once you get your Silverado set up for towing?

Bought one for my 2024 GMC 3500 and I really like it. It pretty much eliminated the chucking and I can take it out myself so I got my bed back.

Hey there, so i have a 2015 Ram 3500 that didn't have a puck system or a 7 way pin connection in the bed. I bought the b&d turnover ball. I however also own a truck camper, so I opted not to install the chain point hookups in the bed, I did order a chain plate directly from Anderson as etrailer did not have one in stock. I also ordered a 7 pin connector and harness that was basically plug and play besides drilling a hole with a hole saw. I have yet to tow with it as my camper won't be off the build line till the 6th of March. Be happy th let you know how things go. Ant questions at all, please feel free to email me. Dan

Adam we have used the Anderson on three different trailers, You will need a system in your truck. I thought all 2500 came with the goose neck system ready to go. Sorry but the Anderson is the way to go. light weight 3 minute install and 3 minute removal, weights only 35 pounds I see someone mentioned the torque wrench was a hassle. No hassle at all I keep it in truck under back seat with the socket sized for the hitch. So it is ready for removable and ready for install. One socket fits all three bolts. Very simple and easy , sure beats the heavy bulky old fifth wheels used in past. Also eliminates chucking and has about a 6 inch set back so plenty of clearance with back of truck cab. Good luck and happy trails

Thanks for providing thorough options, I went with the B&W Turnball along with the B&W Companion and C53CR. I didn't go with the Anderson as there are frame warranty issues with Keystone Cougar/Anderson that I just don't want to ever have to deal with. The installation was straight forward and for all 3 parts took about 8 hours at a leisurely pace. I'm still in my prime, so removing the B&W hitch when I need the bed is easy enough, only takes 5 minutes. Now I just need to buy a trailer.

@AdamB glad to hear you got it all installed and ready to go. The Companion is the better choice in my opinion, you won't be disappointed.
