Can Ranch Hitch Replacement Coupler be Installed on Standard Gooseneck Coupler?
Products Featured in This Question
Question:
Can I use this on my standard gooseneck hitch to replace the current locking method? I hate crawling into the bed to lock the hitch, and I am wondering if I can just replace the lower portion of the hitch with this. My tube is 4inch O.D. I do not want this for a 5th wheel application. I am talking about a regular gooseneck utility trailer.

Hey Rick, thanks for reaching out!
The Replacement Part # AM3101 is designed specifically for the Ranch Hitch. You might be able to customize it to fit your gooseneck coupler, but I don't have any insight into whether that would actually work, and Ranch Hitch will obviously say not to do it.
If your issue is just with the locking part of the coupler (and not the unlocking part) then I recommend checking out the Demco eZ-Latch Weld-On Gooseneck Coupler Head Assembly # DM33KV instead. This uses the Demco eZ-Latch system which works by simply dropping the coupler on your gooseneck hitch ball and it automatically latches. The only time you need to get in your truck to mess with the coupler is when you need to unlatch it.
For something a little more traditional, we also have the Convert-A-Ball Multi-Cushioned Gooseneck Trailer Coupler # CG which goes with more of a traditional route by providing a handle to lock and unlock the coupler.
If none of these options seem like they will work for you, please feel free to reach back out and I'll be more than happy to help you keep looking!
