Recommended Air Helper Springs for a 2003 GMC Sierra 3500 Cab and Chassis

Updated 12/22/2025 | Published 10/24/2024

Question:

I have a 2003 gmc 3500 that was ordered as a cab and chassis truck no box. I had a shop install a set of helper bags on it years ago and after looking at it, he welded a bunch of the brackets on it as he said the rear design was different and thats why the welding. Do they make a bolt on set for this truck. The current bags are leaking and due to the welding, you cant just replace the bags without cutting everything off of it. Please let me know.

Hey Tim, such a kit does exist. I recommend checking out the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs with Internal Jounce Bumpers # AL88286.

These helper springs will bolt right up to your 2003 GMC Sierra 3500 cab and chassis, has a load leveling capacity up to 5,000 lbs, and an adjustable air pressure range of 5 to 100 PSI.

Hey Tim, how did things go with the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 helper springs on your GMC 3500 cab and chassis? Your update could make it easier for the next person dealing with welded brackets on their setup.
