Weight Distribution for 2007 Honda Ridgeline and 3200 Pound Rockwood Freedom 2318G

I have a 2007 Honda Ridgeline. Towing rated at 5000 lbs. My Rockwood Freedom 2318G popup has a factory stated hitch weight of 263 lbs. The popup has electric brakes. The max popup weight is 3260. I have the etrailer.com hitch 70754. From my last three camping trips I estimate that I have about 150-200 lbs behind the rear wheels of the truck. What would be your suggestion for a WD hitch?

If my calculations are correct or at least close then if the trailer is loaded to the maximum of 3,260 pounds and the tongue weight is roughly 11 percent of the gross trailer weight then at the max trailer weight the tongue weight would be around 570 pounds after adding in 200 pounds loaded behind the rear wheels of your 2007 Honda Ridgeline. So basically the tongue weight range is 263 to 570 pounds depending on if it and the vehicle are loaded or not.
If the trailer is not loaded to the maximum then that figure would be lower which is the case with most folks towing trailers. Based on all of this I recommend a system that is rated for 200 to 600 pounds tongue weight to cover the whole range.
The Reese Steadi-Flex # RP66558 is a great option for this application. It comes with built-in sway control as well. If you have ever experienced trailer sway then you know how dangerous it can be. having sway control is definitely recommended. I have linked a video review of this system for you.
The only other part needed is a properly sized ball. For a 2 inch ball use # 63845. And for a 2-5/16 inch ball use # 63847. I have included some links on weight distribution and determining tongue weight for you.
