Looks Great! Well built! No reduction in ground clearence. I really took my time putting it on and it took me 2 hours on a Saturday afternoon! Looks real tough on the Ridgeline!

by:

I use Curt Front Hitches from ETrailer with pintle hitch plates to make my own front protective bars and also rear protective bars in a rear truck, SUV. Or van hitch to protect my vehicles from bad drivers. Much stronger than bull bar or offroad front bumper bar protection

2011 Honda Ridgeline

We live just south of Buffalo and Put this on our '11 Honda Ridgeline with a snowsport plow and a week later it snowed, and snowed and snowed... 5 feet in 24 hours and it's still snowing.... It's not good.... It's AWESOME! Not one driveway or even our street is clear... Except ours. It was easy to put together , easy to install and works exactly like it's advertised!
It's November and it paid for itself already. Communication with etrailer was exceptional. We could not be happier with the whole setup.

Still working very well! The only thing we had to do was re tighten some of the mounting bolts but we did give it quite the workout! The rack it sits on is scraped up from use but that is completely expected and we will just sand and spray in the spring before we put it away. No complaints... Its a well built, sturdy unit. I would buy again in a heartbeat!

What modifications on your Ridgeline did you have to make to install your hitch receiver? Thanks for your help.

by:

They asked for a review a year later, AWESOME! I love the front mount on my '13 Ridgeline for a snowsport "floating plow" I bought thru AgriCover. My Ridgeline plows the whole neighborhood now!!!

by:

Great service from etrailer, not so good manufacturing by Curt.

The following advise is for a 2007 Honda Ridgeline.
I purchased this hitch in order to push my 21 foot travel trailer into a tight parking area at the side of my house where reversing it in with the tow vehicle is difficult.

Be aware that the mounting holes on this hitch do not quite match, they are slightly off, enough to make mounting a problem that may lead to damaged bolts or even cross threaded bolts. Do yourself a favor and get a 1/4" round file, then file the two elongated holes on the center flange towards the forward edge and away from the hitch receiver to make them longer. Then file the two mounting holes on each of the outer flanges inwards toward the center or hitch receiver tube and elongate them.

Dry fit the hitch making sure the bolts go into the threads easily, they are fine pitch and are easily cross threaded and damaged, make sure they ALL go into the chassis nuts without trouble because in the final assembly you will also be dealing with the splash guard, which will be hampering your final assembly.

Thank you for your detailed review. Because you are installing on a 2007, weld nuts must be cleaned or else it will be difficult to install. Another thing which may have happened, is some flex in the receiver, which would account for it not fitting exactly right. I will attach a help article explaining more:

by:

I had some difficulty lining up the bolts but suspect that is my issue rather than the product. So far I have only used it once for a camping trip with a rack designed for an ATV (rack is offset for ground clearance) and that worked well. I also plan to use for a small bike rack when 4 bike rack in back is overloaded. Puts more utility in my SUV, always a good thing.

Great, every SUV should have a hitch and having two is just so much better.

by:

The good news is the hitch fit and it helps with getting the boat into the garage with a curved driveway. It was extremely hard to get the bolt holes aligned. If the front screws Had an alignment pin and if the bolt hole were larger it would have helped. I ended up stripping one front screw.

Still using it and it is working well.

I LOVE my Curt front-mount trailer hitch. I installed it myself, and while I wouldn’t say it was “easy”, it was reasonable. The instructions were clear and the fit was perfect. I bought the hitch because I have a boat and a travel trailer that I need to maneuver in a fairly small space. I considered an electric trailer mover, but the hitch was much less expensive, and it is with me wherever I go. The front hitch makes it extremely easy to move the boat and the travel trailer with great precision. You have good visibility of the load, and because the hitch is so close to the front (steering) axle, it is very easy and intuitive to make small directional adjustments.

by:
Honda Ridgeline

This hitch will probably outlast the truck. Very beefy and well designed, all bolt holes matched up perfectly to the Ridgeline subframe. I purchased it, along with a removable winch mount and quick-release 12V. battery cable connectors, so that I can keep my winch out of the way and locked in the tool box when not in use.

(Unfortunately, the removable winch mount that goes into the receiver, and which I bought from a different manufacturer, is flimsy compared to this unit).

2006 Honda Ridgeline

Needed a front hitch for a 2006 Ridgeline Honda truck. I found it on etrailer.com and a better price for same hitch on another online store. As I talked with the customer service agent, I was also offered a discount which was quite a surprise. Shipping was very fast. Had it installed on my truck so I could attach a mounting hitch and snow blade. I am extremely happy with this hitch and etrailer.com.

by:

I was a little surprised with the snow plow. I thought it was going to be hydraulic/electric. It does okay, going on flat and slight declines. Inclines not so good. I also. Bought a rear trailer hitch. Very pleased with it.

by:

This may be more of a fault of the vehicle than the hitch. There is 4 bolts that need to be removed from the vehicle (Honda Ridgeline) bumper reinforcement bar that have hidden welded nuts that snap loose due to an accumulation of rust.
Upon further inspection of the reinforcement provided for the vehicles front end, I am not sure using this hitch to mount a snowplow won't be compromising to the vehicle's structural integrity in the long run.

by:
2005 Honda Pilot

I plan on using this to assist me in backing my travel trailer into a small side yard next to my house and my neighbor's fence. Backing it into this small area has been extremely nerve wracking as my home air conditioner unit is close to the house and trailer. Now I will have the luxury of making sure nothing is damaged. and better yet the front hitch will be hidden under the car and out of the way.

by:

Desided not to install due to the low ground clearance issues.. otherwise the quality and craftsmanship is excellent.. also concerns of front end chassis flexing and steering alignment issues if high loads were imposed on hitch.. may install in the future

by:

Love Curt, second one I have bought. This one came with a crazy little skinny wire tool with a spring on the end so I could pull a bolt and washer 12" through a steel tube on the car and make it hang down so I could put a nut on it for the hitch. Amazing. Genius! American ingenuity! (And BTW, I love etrailer, too. They have so much stuff, and not just for your trailer but your car, too! And all kinds of helpful videos. I know this sounds like a commercial, but it isn't. I'm real and hard to impress, but these guys are impressive.)

by:

This was the easiest purchase and installation of a hitch I've ever done. I have already told my neighbor about e trailer and I'll keep referring them to anyone looking for a hitch.

2008 Honda Ridgeline

Couldn't have asked for a better product! So simple to add a front hitch to my 2008 Honda Ridgeline. Was done in 45 mins. Highly recommended to all my ridgeline friends.

by:

Receiver hitch fit perfectly. I contacted etrailer a couple times with delivery questions and they always responded right away. Very pleased.

by:

Allows us to put our camper in our warehouse much easier. I consider it mission accomplished!

by:
Honda Pilot

This my third front hitch and they work great for my purpose. I am a pilot car for oversized loads this works great for front sign and as a carrier for the high pole each one has fitted properly and work great Thanks Ronnie

by:

Works great. Had to get an extension to attach my winch.

by:

I needed to have my local mechanic install this - not from any fault of the product but the rusted bolts in my truck got so tight that the nuts internal to the frame members broke free of their welds. It's not really been used much but seems like it will do the job when called on!

by:

The Curt receiver arrived in a few days after ordering and it was an easy install. I would recommend to anyone.
