  • Location of Factory Wiring Connector for 2021 Ford Explorer Limited
Hello Ken; what wiring harness are you trying to install? Do you have the factory tow package on your 2021 Ford Explorer? If you don't have the factory tow package there won't be a wiring connector at the rear of the vehicle. If you have the factory tow package there will be a plug behind the bumper that attaches to the # HM40975. If you do not have the factory tow package you need to install the Curt 4-way # C56093 which plugs into the connection points in the rear cargo area as seen...

  • How to Activate the Factory Trailer Towing Package on a 2000 Chevy Silverado
The wiring will already be run on your 2000 Chevy Silverado. There will be 1 of 2 wiring situations on your truck. The wiring for the 7-Way will be located above the spare tire. If it is just bare wires with no plug, you will need to hard wire one in. The harness we have for this wiring situation is Pollak 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector Socket w/ Wiring Harness and Mounting Bracket, # PK11898. If your truck has a plug, then you will need to use a connector like the Replacement Multi-Tow...

  • 7-Way Trailer Wiring Connector Recommendation for 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan with Blue Connector
The connector you found on your 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan is great news. That is a standard 7-way connector plug which means to install trailer wiring all you'd need is the # HM40975 which plug connect right to that and give you both a 4-way and a 7-way. This install is just a matter of plugging the connector in and does not require any additional wiring.

  • Adding 7-Way Trailer Connector to 2008 Honda Ridgeline
If your 2008 Honda Ridgeline came with a factory installed 7-Way trailer connector it is possible that # HM40975 will fit. You need to look at the wiring harness that plugs into the back of the factory 7-Way. If it looks the same as the back of # HM40975, see picture, then you can use it. If your Ridgeline did not come with a 7-Way then to add one you will start by installing a 4-Way (unless the truck already has one) using # 118400. Then you will need to install 4- and 7-Way installation...

  • Replacement 7-Way and 4-Way Connector Bracket for 2008 Ford F-250
To replace just the mounting bracket for the factory 7-Way/4-Way connector on your 2008 Ford F-250 the Pollak # HM40978 will work perfectly. This isn't an exact OEM replacement but it will fit with the existing connector and mount beneath the bumper just like the one you have. If you do happen to also need the connector itself the Hopkins 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket # HM40975 that you were looking at will indeed plug right into the factory US Car connector port under the truck....

Basically they are the same connector with just a slightly different part number. We carry the part # HM40975 and if you ordered the 40974 from someone else (not recommended haha) you'd get the same thing which just a different part number on the box. • Recommended Trailer Hitch for a 2020 Ford Ranger
The trailer hitch that I recommend for a 2020 Ford Ranger is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13417 which is a custom bolt-on fit that does not require any cutting or drilling. The process should actually only take you around 20 to 40 minutes. I have attached an install photo for you as well. For a trailer wiring harness, the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 22124 is your best option as it does not require any splicing therefore is almost entirely plug and play. I also recommend...

I'm not sure what that 8-pin plug on your daughter's 2018 Chevy Express Van 3500 is, but I can say that is definitely not something used for trailer wiring. Since the Express Van didn't come with the factory tow package 7-Way you'll want to look for a frame pocket on the driver side rear left corner of the frame for a seven-wire harness with the connector that you should be able to install wiring with a US round connection, like the Hopkins # HM40975, to. I checked with Tow Ready about 7-Way connector # 118261 and it is not a confirmed fit for the 2013 Ford E-250 van. Since there are no other options and since you have some factory wiring already, I recommend using 4 and 7-Way connector # HM40975 with harness # PK11998. If you need to install the 7-Way connector for the first time the factory connection point is going to be on the left side of the vehicle above the spare tire.
