So far the trans cooler has been working well. I also used the adapters. Both products are doing well after 1500 miles or so and many hills, mountains, and trailering.

Great cooler upgrade for my 1997 GMC Yukon! Little delivery damage, but was so easy to bend those fins back to original shape so no worries!
Nice that you had proper dimension measurements online, so it was easy to figure out what kind I can fit in my truck. Complete kit had everything I needed to get it done!
Modified old cooler bracket little bit and that was it. Works great!

by:

Will make the installation of the trans cooler easier

Won't be sorry, thanks

by:

Have I gotten my refund for trans cooler fittings that weren't needed? 1994 k1500 trans cooler is working great.

by:

Very handy for unique installations fo transmission coolers

by:

It looks like from reading the matierl if one is using the cooler in series with the factory cooler this adapter is not needed.
Thus I would like to return, but I fear the shipping cost will not make sense, dollar wise...

Thus the recommendation should state if you are adding a cooler to your system where one does not already exist, then you'll need this adapter.

So if your adding to an already existing system, you do not need the adapter.

by:

Worked out great for installing the extra trans cooler.

by:

Pro help online to order. Trans cooler shipped right away.

The adapter fitting did not fit my 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 w/ 5.3 liter engine and factory trailer package.

by:

These fittings made connecting the hoses to the steel transmission lines very easy - glad I bought them! I recommend getting them.

by:

Great buying experience, will definitely be a go to company for future purchases

by:

I purchased these fittings thinking these would fit my GM product. NOT.......These are 3/8 and looks like the fit the truck series only as stated on the package. Be aware

  • Derale Transmission Cooler # D13105 Recommendation for a 2007 GMC Sierra With a 4.8 Liter V8
This Derale Series 7000 Tube-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, part # D13105, measures 16-5/8 inches wide by 12-5/8 inches tall and 3/4 inches thick. You will need to do some measuring in front of the radiator that is in your 2007 GMC Sierra. If you find that you have enough clearance there to install the # D13105 cooler, then it would work well for you. You will also want to purchase a Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for GM, part # D13018, so you will not have to cut or flare any lines to...

  • Recommended Transmission Coolers and Programmer For a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500HD 6.0L 4L80E
First I recommend getting a Edge Gas Evolution CTS3 Performance Tuner # EP39YR for your 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500HD. This will allow you to get more power to make towing easier on your Silverado and will also allow you to more accurately monitor temperatures on your engine and transmission. For your transmission I recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13504. This is a large plate cooler which will help to lower transmission temperatures when towing....

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2003 Chevy Silverado 2500HD
You mentioned wanting the best cooler for your 2003 Chevy Silverado. The best, as in the most amount of cooling, is going to be a remote cooler with its own fan like # D13960. It does not matter where this cooler gets mounted because its fan offers the optimum amount of cooling all the time. Otherwise for a standard cooler that would require air flow I recommend # D13105. Its large surface area will provide plenty of cooling for your trucks transmission. To avoid cutting and flaring lines...

  • What Transmission Cooler Fitting Will Fit On 2002 Ford F150 With 4.2 Liter V6
The transmission cooler fittings you have referenced, # D13018, are not the correct part for your 2002 Ford F150 with 4.2L V6. For the 2002 Ford F150 with 4.2 L V6, it depends on what size transmission line fittings you have. If you have 5/8 inches-18 transmission line fittings you would use the Transmission Cooler Fitting, # D13025. If you have the 1/2 inches-20 transmission line fittings you would use Transmission Cooler Fitting, # D13024.

  • Installing A Transmission Cooler On A 2007 Chevy Express 3500 6.0L Roadtrek Conversion Van
To determine what kind of transmission cooler you will need depends on how much weight you will be towing and where you will be towing. Also, you will also want to measure the area in front of the AC condenser to see what size cooler will fit on your 2007 Chevy. I am sending a link to a FAQ page that will give you information on transmission coolers. The GTW rating is the Gross Towing Weight capacity. This is the weight of the trailer, including the load in the trailer. This will help...

  • Recommendation for Cooling the Coolant and Transmission Fluid Temperature on a 2008 Chevy Avalanche
For the radiator coolant temperature, I recommend adding a supplemental fan or fans depending on how much space you have under the hood. There is no limit to the amount of fans you can have. A pusher fan, mounted in front of the radiator pushing air through it, would be the most efficient (provided that the factory fan is mounted on the same side and pushes air through in the same direction). A puller fan would be used on the other side of the radiator to pull air through. The largest electric...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2007 Chevy Silverado, 4.3L, V6
The most popular transmission cooler for a 2007 Chevy Silverado (New or Classic) with the 4.3 liter is cooler # D13503. This cooler measures 11 inches wide, 8-3/4 inches tall, and 7/8 inches deep. It is rated as a Class III which is what is recommended for vehicles with Class III trailer hitches. Metal lines are not an option but you could replace the rubber hose with metal lines obtained locally. However metal dissipates heat more quickly and easily than rubber so it might end up working...

  • Should 2007 GMC Sierra Classic be Put in 4WD When Towing a Heavy Load Long Distance
I checked out the online version of the owner's manual and it looks like for your 2007 GMC Sierra Classic then you want to use the Tow/Haul mode for heavy towing and/or shift the transmission to 3rd or lower if it is shifting too often. Aside from that though it doesn't state anything about 4WD so I wouldn't worry about it. You may consider adding a transmission cooler like the Derale # D13502 to help keep your transmission from overheating and making your engine work harder. If you have...

  • Engine Oil and Transmission Fluid Combination Cooer for a 2006 Chevy Avalanche
for a remote combination oil and transmission fluid cooler I recommend # D15230. You will also need installation kit # D13006 and oil cooler kit # D15752. This is a thermostatic oil cooler kit so the thermostat will be associated with the engine oil temperature and it will activate once the temperature reaches 180 degrees so it will be perfect for your application. To make installation of the transmission cooler part I recommend adding fitting # D13035 for the 5.3 liter motor or # D13018...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 1998 Chevy 1500 Truck with 5.7 Liter Engine
Transmission coolers are pretty universal in the vehicles they can fit. The part # D13504 would be an excellent choice for your 1998 Chevy Silverado 5.7 liter. I attached an install video that shows it being installed in a similar larger GM SUV. You would also want the fitting part # D13018 so that you don't have to cut any metal lines.

  • Identifying Transmission Lines on a 2003 Chevy Silverado with 5.3 Liter and Cooler Recommendations
I had a vehicle with this same engine and had a transmission cooler to it. The easiest way to find the correct lines going to and from the transmission is to start the motor and put it in drive for about 10 seconds or so. Then, put the vehicle back in park and turn off the motor. Under the truck feel both lines from the transmission. One will be warmer the other cooler to the touch. The cooler one is the return line. A supplemental cooler installs in line after the factory cooler. So the...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2003 GMC Sierra 4x4 1500
I can tell you that the Derale Transmission Cooler Pan, # D14204, fits most 1982-1999 model 4L60Es transmissions. Some models may require a smaller transmission filter to get it to fit. It will not fit on all models. The overall depth of the pan is 3-5/8 inches and the distance to the the 5/8 inch diameter cooling tubes is 2-1/2 inches from the top of the pan. The exhaust has been determined to be a possible hindrance of installing this pan on models newer than 1999. If there were no components...

The Derale Dyno-Cool Tube-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D12904 that you referenced would be a good choice for you 2003 Chevy Silverado as long as you have the necessary clearance in front of your radiator and AC condenser. This product measures 15-1/4 inches Wide x 10 inches tall x 3/4 deep. Transmission coolers are not too hard to install. I have installed a couple of them and they were not too bad at all. Derale Transmission Pan Cooler, # D14204, is designed for GM vehicles with 700R4 and 4L60E transmissions from 1982 to 1999 and we do not list an transmission pan cooler for the 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 with 4L60 M-30 transmission. If you have a transmission cooler already installed on your 2004 GMC Sierra 1500, it may be enough to handle the long journey you said you are planning on taking. My first recommendation would be to install temperature gauges for your oil and also for the transmission fluid. Then hook your trailer up and drive it to find out exactly how it is doing. I recommend the Derale Temperature Gauge, part # D13009. I would recommend one for the oil temp and one for the transmission oil temp. If...

A lot of people do this and it should help bring your transmission fluid temperatures down. • Can the Derale Stacked-Plate Transmission Cooler Kit Be Mounted in Any Direction or Orientation
The inlet and outlet on transmission coolers can be oriented in any direction you like and because the cooler is a flow through device you can use either port as the inlet or outlet, whichever makes the installation easier and uses the least amount of hose. The one thing you want to be sure of, is that the cooler is mounted so that most air flows through it, usually in the same orientation as your radiator. The best installation location is as far forward as possible in front of the radiator,...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500
For your 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 I would recommend the larger transmission cooler part # D13504 as basically the larger the cooler you have the better, and your truck would have room for it's size of 11" Wide x 12" tall x 7/8" deep. For a fitting that would allow you to install the cooler without having to cut or flare any lines you would want the part # D13018. Keeping the transmission fluid cool is the greatest way to prolong the life of the transmission as heat is a transmission's worst enemy.

You may also need an additional fitting to avoid cutting and flaring lines. The correct fitting depends on the engine in your truck. If you have a 4.3 liter or 8.1 liter, use fitting # D13018. For any other engine size use # D13035. I have included some links on transmission coolers for you.
