To install a 7-way trailer connector on your van, you'd first install a functional 4-pole connector, like part # C56331. Once that's installed, you can install a 7-way by plugging the # 37185 adapter into the 4-pole. Once the white wire is grounded, the lighting functions on your 7-way will all be functional.
If your trailer has electric brakes, and you want them operable you'll need to install a brake controller. For a basic but easy to use controller, I'd recommend the Tekonsha Primus, part # TK90160. To install the controller, I recommend the Brake Controller Install Kit, part # ETBC7 which includes the adapter I mentioned above. It also includes all the needed hardware, wire and circuit breakers to complete your installation.
I've linked you to some installation videos for the wiring harness, and the brake controller install kit that you might find helpful.
