Question:
Im sure this has been answered, but even after searching I wasnt sure so I just want to clarify: is there a hitch that will fit a 2006 Mini Cooper S to carry a bike rack? No towing or trailer hook ups will be done. It will be used only for a bike rack. Thank you for your time!

Because S models of the 2006 Mini Cooper have center exhaust, there are no trailer hitch options available. But you can still carry bikes on your Mini using either a trunk mount bike rack or a roof rack (if it has a hard top).
There are trunk mount bike racks that will fit hard top and convertible models. You can use the 2-bike rack, the Yakima FullBack # Y02634. I have linked a video review of the FullBack rack for you.
If you go with this option and if you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have to use these adapters and without them my wife's bike would be at a severe angle and I would not be able to load my son's bike at all. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.
If you would rather go with a roof rack, the most economical option is an Inno rack made up of the following parts:
Crossbars # INB117
Fit kit, # INK118
Short roof adapter, # INJK
Feet, # INSUT
Then you can use a bike rack such as # INA389 (1 needed per bike). I have linked a video review of the bike rack and roof rack for you.
If you go with the roof rack option be sure to consult the vehicle owners manual and/or Mini for the roof weight carrying capacity prior to loading.
