The Best Trailer Hitch for a 2014 Mercedes Sprinter Van with Factory Step Bumper

Question:

Hey, what is that step that is shown in the Curt hitch ad? Looks like it installs separately from the hitch assembly and is about 4foot or 5foot wide.

What you see in the pictures for Curt trailer hitch # 13358 is the factory step bumper that comes on some Sprinter vans. There is probably an aftermarket version of it out there but we do not carry it. It is attached separately from the vehicle on the underside. Take a look at the picture I have included that shows the different attachment points for the hitch and the step bumper.

If you plan on installing one of these steps then you would need a hitch like # 13358 designed for models with the step bumper.

I have a 2014 sprinter 144 passenger with rear step; everything I’m finding for my year model states that it will not fit on the passenger model. I have measured my frame and it is not the narrow measurement stated. What will fit my 2014 144 passenger with rear setup?

For your 2014 Sprinter with the 144" wheelbase, the Draw-Tite # 75601 is a confirmed fit. This is the only option that is compatible with the passenger version of this van.
