Can I Install A Kuat NV2.0 On My 2020 Mercedes Sprinter 2500

Question:

I just read that Kuat NV 2.0 bike racks are not recommended for motorhomes, RVs, 5th wheels and trailers. However, the reason seems to be that these vehicles extend far beyond the rear axles and, thus, tend to sway a lot, putting torsion pressure on the rack. We have a 2020 Mercedes Sprinter 2500 van 4x4 that extends only 30 inches beyond the rear wheel well and 45 inches from the rear axle. It is not subject to much sway at all, even in windy conditions. Wondering if the same caveats would apply to our vehicle? Thanks.

We would not consider your 2020 Mercedes Sprinter 2500 to be an RV, we consider it to be a passenger van for hitch bike rack compatibility. You will not have any issues with the Kuat NV 2.0 Base Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount - Matte Black, part # BA22B, installed on your van.

Hi Mark, I just got the kuat 2.0 base rack for my sprinter van. I’m wondering if there is a way to make the tilt down action even lower. I cannot clear the doors of the van in the current configuration. Thanks Neil

@NeilM Hello Neil, I am sorry but there is not a way to tilt down the bike rack even more, instead you will need to use the Kuat Pivot 2 Swing Away Hitch Extender for Bike Racks - 2" Hitches - Driver's Side # PVD20B. This way you can swing the bike away so you can get into your back doors. I attached a video for you to check out. Please let me know your thoughts about it.
