Question:
I am trying to hook up my 2009 Tiffin Phaeton to my 2018 Ford Expedition Max to flat tow yes mine has the setting. I am looking at wiring and wondering if you haver a vehicle-specific plug-in taillight connector for the Expedition instead of splicing to minimize changes? can you comment on if there is something OR does my plan look good? My plan was: e86YR for expedition e94ZR tow bar 2 hitch RM-156-75 for motorhome chargeline RM-156-25 for expedition charge line BLU37TR for the portable brake system ****RM-15267 is the wiring BUT I am asking if you have something that doesnt need to be spliced

Hey Josh! Your list looks good for flat towing your 2018 Ford Expedition Max behind your 2009 Tiffin Phaeton. The Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # e86YR fits your Expedition as long as you have 4WD with the 4L mode. The etrailer Tow Bar # e94ZR comes with safety cables and has a built-in rise/drop adjustment, so you likely won't need a separate high-low adapter.
The Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR is a great portable braking system. You'll also need the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay # RM-88400 to prevent the Expedition's brake lights from overriding the turn signals from your motorhome.
For wiring, we don't have a custom plug-in harness for your Expedition, so I recommend sticking with the Roadmaster Diode Wiring Kit # RM-15267. The Roadmaster will give you the most reliable setup, and the splicing isn't as difficult as it might seem. The plug-and-play options sound nice, but we see a lot of issues with them and end up troubleshooting, whereas the Roadmaster just works.
The Roadmaster Charge Line Kits # RM-156-75 for your motorhome and # RM-156-25 for your Expedition will help keep the battery charged while you're towing, so you're all set there.
Where are you headed with your Phaeton and Expedition?
