What Brake Controller Works For a 2025 Ford F-150 W/O a Tow-Package but Has a 7-way?

Which plug n play brake controller would be best for my 2025 F150 without tow package, but has the factory 7/4 pin connector? I would need it to be plug and play for 2 axles please.

Hi John,
I'm not sure your truck has a plug for a plug and play brake controller to plug into because it doesn't have a tow package. You will likely have the wiring for it, but just loose wires and no factory plug. You can check under the driver's side dash, near the steering column or behind the lower dash trim panel to see if there's a plug on your wiring. The wires will be blue, red, white, and black; they may be blunt cut if they don't have a plug, which means you'll need to splice the wiring harness for the brake controller in.
I suggest using the Redarc Tow-Pro Trail Brake Controller part # RED44UR because it comes with both the custom harness (if you do have the plug) and the universal pigtail for splicing (if you don't have the plug). It's also capable of working with up to 3 axles, has an off-road mode for better handling in rough terrain, and works with electric and electric-over-hydraulic brake set ups. The Redarc brake controllers have knob that will install into the dash and includes the mounting panel that goes with it. Because there's no factory brake controller in your truck, there should be a blank panel on your dash you can mount the knob into or wherever you prefer to install it.

If you have factory brake controller and I think you may with the factory 7 pin the RED44UR should be a plug and play. On my 2025 f250 with factory brake controller it had a pig tail coming off the factory brake controller that plug right into the RED44UR. The RED44UR solved all my problems I was having with weak trailer brakes on my 2025 f250.
